This thing is bigger than you might think--being just a 12 bottle unit.It is also heavy, so moving it around isn't easy.It is well packed but that makes the box bulky--hard to handle by yourself.My unit started working fine, then went through a week of throwing display fits--lighting up all elements.Had to guess at temperature settings.It also would periodically BEEP for no good reason, sometimes sounding like the roadrunner.However, after a week or so of that, it has returned to normal operation.Having discarded the carton and considering the hassle, I would not have sent it back regardless (and it has always cooled).Oh--it is also not quite as 'silent' as described--at least not if you are sitting anywhere near.I ended up moving it away from my living areas.

I bought this because it was exactly the size I wanted and it had a dual zone temp control. I bought this at the end of last summer because it fit perfectly on a counter space below another shelf in my kitchen, and the price was great. Looks elegant and runs pretty quietly. Sometimes the temperature dial stops responding, but I've found unplugging and resetting the unit can get that back. However, after about 7 months the right side stopped cooling, so I now only have a 6 bottle cooler :(I'd suggest spending more for a better quality unit (I wish I had.)

The wine cooler works exactly as advertised.It maintains the desired temperatures to plus/minus 1 degree F.No problem in maintaining 62 F/48 F in the two sides of the fridge.Noise level is just barely audible if I am standing next to it.So far, the fridge holds all 750 ml wine bottles I have put in, even some slightly unusual shapes.It's pretty light for the capacity.Highly recommended.

Temperature regulation seems to be excellent in both the refrigerator side and the freezer side.This unit is extremely quiet while running but the icemaker produces some strange (and funny) noises doing whatever it does.
Power freeze and Power cool features are excellent our newly delivered and set up fridge cooled down the fridge to 45 degrees within a couple of hours.I forgot how long it took to cool down the freezer side, but it was relatively fast.Be aware if *both* Power freeze and Power cool are selected, the fridge side will cool down FIRST, then it will start to cool down the freezer.We thought the freezer side wasn't working, but after a few hours, the freezer side started to cool.
The design of the interior is very well thought out allowing easy and convenient organization and access to food/drink.
One complaint about the product is the pull out drawer design.They are much harder to pull out than they should be due to the plastic drawer design.The drawer runners/guide are simply plastic against plastic there are no wheels or rollers.I noticed when fridge shopping as the price of the fridge increased, so did the ease of pulling the drawers in and out (and drawer quality).Looks like you need to get into a $2,000+ fridge to get a better drawer design.
There are many complaints about the LED lighting in this series of Samsung products the primary one being too little light.The lighting is *very* well distributed up and down on both sides, but it is for a fact a little on the dim side.While a bit of a detriment, the other strengths of the product make this less of an issue.
Unless you use a very large diameter glass or cup, the ice dispenser will shoot crushed ice all over the place.This is the most significant design flaw of this product.
No regrets about the purchase and I would recommend it to others assuming they understand the weaknesses.

Although the refrigerator is fine the ice maker is an absolute nightmare. It cannot keep up with even minor demand. It jams constantly requiring a removal and ice flys all over the floor. It crushes even though it is not on that setting. Frost builds up inside the icemaker. Also the front panel can easily be set incorrectly if you lean on it. It has shut down completely several times and required getting the manual out to turn back on. I would not recommend this and I will never buy another Samsung appliance.
Purchased this unit in July 2011 and had to return it because there was something wrong with the control panel and it would not allow me to select either cube or crushed ice unless I pressed hard along the top edge of the button.Then it would dispense the ice in a rather slow manner with a lot of very loud clunking noises (my old GE unit made comparatively little noise when dispensing ice, and dispensed it far more quickly). The seller ordered a new unit and replaced it the following week.The front panel worked fine on the second unit, but the unit would not dispense the ice at all!Returned for a full refund.As it is quite a hassle to keep changing refrigerators, we could not take a risk on another Samsung.
I thought that the unit could use more lighting at the front because when the unit is full of food items, a bit too much light gets blocked.We found also that you will need to double-check that the freezer door is fully shut because it sometimes appears that it is shut but really isn't.That happened to us twice and the second time it wasvery slightly ajar for a couple of hours and condensation built up inside and then froze rather thickly all over the glass shelves and walls of the freezer.
Samsung has made a very stylish-looking unit and for the most part it works well, but it does appear that they have some things to learn about manufacturing refrigerators.

Owned this RS267 refrigerator for a year now and it does a great job of keeping food fresh a long time compared to our $500 standard GE refrigerator. At first it was making a little more noise than expected but I discovered one of the back wheels wasn't quite touching the floor (refrigerator was level but not the floor).I put a piece of felt under that wheel and it became much more quiet.The LED lighting inside takes a while to get use to but you do.The ice maker is slow to make ice but we don't use too much ice anyway.If we turn the ice maker off sometimes when we turn it back on again it doesn't work even though the panel light says it's on.Turning it off then on again always seems to fix the problem (sounds like a circuit board issue).Save 25% Off

This is LG's discontinued 5231JA2006A, NOT the current 5231JA2006B. I replaced my older filter when this arrived from Amazon and it works, but the current version is an improvement over this one.The problem with this filter is the price they are demanding for a discontinued product.I paid way too much for this filter as it is inferior to the current item that is available on the market.Unfortunately, the vendor doesn't make it clear exactly which filter one is purchasing, since the current product's item number appears in parentheses here on Amazon (and, as I recall, on the vendor's website).I recommend finding the current filter and paying the few extra dollars as it is superior to this one.UPDATE:
Unfortunately, Amazon often compiles reviews for identically-titled, though slightly different products, so it is sometimes difficult to identify the exact product/vendor being reviewed. The product I reviewed above was marketed -and purchased -as the LG 5231JA2006B, but I received the discontinued filter.My review then appeared under both product listings on Amazon for some reason.The vendor was a third party vendor (not fulfilled by Amazon), and I don't recall exactly which vendor it was.The lesson here is to be careful not only about the product one purchases, but to identify how and by whom the purchase is fulfilled.I have since purchased the current (and correct) filter a number of times on Amazon and am very happy with it.

I researched these filers over a year ago when I was hunting for the cheapest place to purchase a replacement. The "A" model is not discontinued, it just doesn't filter out as much as the "B" model does. So if you are looking for a filter that meets ANSI 42 standards this will do just fine. If you want a better filter that meets ANSI 42 and 53, then go with the more expensive B model. It really depends on the water you are filtering as everyones water from the tap will be different. I have purchased both filters from discountfilterstore.com with excellent service and their website provides the breakdown of particulates filtered for each model. Don't take everyone lines of something being discontinued. They wouldn't still be selling them years later if they were discontinued.

If/when it dies I will not replace it with this brand or model. It proved to point that you get what you pay for.We have no beef with Amazon.com in fact they were very accomodating and quick to replace our first Vinotemp wine refrigerator, with a SECOND Vinotemp wine refrigerator (and they Fed Ex'd it at Amazon's cost).
In both instances, the Vinotemp refrig arrived with a big dent in the back of the refrig.We couldn't detect any indentations in the surrounding styrofoam so we concluded it was leaving the VINOTEMP factory like that (nice quality control, Vinotemp!).Also, since we only saw a photo of this product online, we weren't aware of how cheap it looks up close and personal.The fact that both times we received a damaged VINOTEMP was actually a blessing in disguise.
We ended up buying a Haier wine refrigerator for a few dollars less and it holds 15 more bottles and is superior quality.Whew.
P.S.Also at one point during our decision making process, I called Vinotemp directly to ask some product point questions.I spoke to two different representatives and it was obvious that NEITHER one knew what she was talking about.I had an unsettled feeling about that, but we went forward anyways.
Again, damaged VINOTEMP out of the factory (2x) = blessing in disguise!Thermostat stopped working after 2 months.Refrigerator still cools, but cannot set the temp. and the temp. changes on its own.Also, makes a weird noise now.I finally just unplugged it.
I will now need to buy another brand to replace this one.Don't waste your money on this one.I loved this product at first. But unfortunately it only worked for 5 months. The company sent me two replacement coolers. None of them worked! Now i am stuck wth this last one because they dont want to replace it again. The controls do not work, the temperature inside is way too low for wine and the temp display went crazy. Now I am using as a wine cabinet UNPLUGGED. Sad... Never again from Vinotemp!

Immediately after installing it we noticed it was producing lots of very tiny black particles of debris in the water, even though we had run the recommended 2 quarts of water through it. Long story short, over 30 minutes and 20 quarts of water later, the water was still filled with these very small carbon pieces, almost like black dust.
We removed it and put our Whirlpool brand filter back in, and within 4 quarts the debris started to go away, and after 6 quarts the water was running clean again.
So, we assumed that we must have simply received a defective filter. Not so.
We contacted the online retailer and they sent us a new one in exchange, and the new one gave us the same exact results. We ran gallon after gallon of water through it (thoroughly rinsing the jug between fills to make sure we weren't seeing lingering remnant debris), and still the second replacement WF285 kept producing water filled with black carbon dust.
However, you do need a keen eye to notice it so I'm guessing that's why we haven't found other negative reviews of the product yet. We believe it's likely that most people simply don't notice the carbon dust after a few quarts because it's so fine, and I'm willing to bet that a lot of people are drinking some carbon-dusty water right now because they've never taken a close look at their water after using this.
If you have this product, fill a white (or very light) colored bowl or juice jug with it and let it sit for a few seconds and watch it under good lighting. You will notice that as the water settles the carbon dust begins to rise to the top and swirl together, making it more visible for people with poor eyesight.
We've switched back to the actual Whirlpool brand and our fridge water is perfectly clean again. Too bad, we were really hoping to save some money because the Whirlpool filters are so much more expensive, but it's totally not worth drinking nasty water from poorly made filters to save a lousy 10 bucks. This experience has us back to buying filters direct from Whirlpool now at a premium. Major bummer.

I have purchased 3 of these filters for my fridge.The first time I purchased 2 at one time so I could have a backup.1 day after installing the first one, the plastic part of the filter broke and water QUICKLY started leaking from the filter onto the floor.I figured it was just a 1 in a million thing and put the other filter in.It worked fine for the 3 months until my little light told me it was time to order a new one.I ordered one and replaced the filter.One week later, pop, the plastic seal broke yet again and water again was all over my floor.I was very, very lucky to be at home and in the kitchen BOTH times they broke, otherwise I would have come home to a flooded house as the water comes out at full force.I would recommend spending the extra money for a different filter.I know I will from now on.........

Like DigitalMan's review, I too decided to try to save some money and get the cheaper AquaFresh brand filter.I ordered a 3-pack in October 2008 from another online vendor for about $76 (about the cost of 2 by Pur).I also noticed the black particulates (maybe charcoal?) when installing the first filter.I ran several gallons of water through it (much more than is recommended) and it seemed to clear up, although I forgot to check later on.Today, I installed the second one and I'm not going to try the third.I must have run about 4 gallons of water through the line.After noticing some particulates in the water of the large gallon pitcher I was using, I switched between tap water and the refrigerator multiple times using a wine glass, allowing for the air bubbles to clear out.The tap water was clear, but the water coming from the Aquafresh filter had black particulates and a few white fibers as well.It may not be harmful (who knows), but the Kenmore/Pur brand filters I used before never had that problem.I'm going to order the more expensive brand filters again and will drink pure Schuylkill Punch (what we call the tap water in southeastern Pennsylvania) until the new filters come.I still believe that many times you CAN save money by shopping around for a cheaper brand with equal or better quality, but in this case that's not my experience which is why I'm taking the time to write this review.

My Kenmore refrigerator said it was time for a new filter, and I was at the end of a two pack that I had bought a bit over a year ago, so I was looking here for the best deal. I considered these AquaFresh filters, but then was put off by the negative reviews and I ended up buying the genuine Whirlpool 4396510P filters instead (the one that removes smaller particles and cysts). They arrived today and I swapped out the filter, and it turned out that this AquaFresh filter was the filter I was replacing. I have used the two-pack for over a year (my fridge keeps track of water flow, so it's sometimes more than six months between replacements) and I have to say that I was perfectly happy with them.They both ran clear from the start and the water tasted clean and fresh throughout their lives. If I had realized that this was the brand I was already using, I would have gone ahead and bought it again. All this discussion got me wondering about any other difference between the two, so I went out to their web site just now to see if it was doing the same job of filtering as the high-end Whirlpool one. I've posted their claims of removal below, and they are comparable to those of the Whirlpool. Take these numbers with some caution, though, because they acknowledge that these are 'internal' results. They shouldn't carry the weight of results verified by an independent lab. Anyway, maybe I just got lucky, but my experience was all good.

**DO NOT BUY** FACTORY DESIGN DEFECT.Yes it's true, in 2010 they cannot design a refrigerator that functions properly.The same cold air that freezes the water tray for cubes, ALSO freezes the water line for the cubes!On top of that, the so called "fix" doesn't work either!Other than that, it's seems to be a pretty nice unit...unless you care about having ice.LED lighting sure is sexy though.Ours stopped working almost immediately.It also had another issue with the ice maker.The optical interrupter plastic slide switch had a mind of it's own.Whenever you closed the door, it would slide into the OFF position!I recall the words of the repairman upon seeing this as he shook his head, "bad design".Well at least if they're going to fail, they might as well from the get go instead of AFTER the "trial" period.Luckily we had ours taken back within our 14 day "extended" trial.I say that because once I knew we had problems that had to be repaired and would take a couple weeks to get parts in, I went to HHG and informed them of the situation and they agreed to extend the trial period till "after" repairs.If they would have said no, I was going to tell them to come pick it up immediately. Everyone should remember to do this when this situation arises.Actually I thought most trial periods were a standard 30 days?Just goes to show how they continue to squeeze for every advantage.What's really disgusting is that these units are still being offered to the public, when they are obviously defective.I imagine Whirlpool is implementing some damage control now.I understand the complexities of product design having worked in engineering. MEMO to Whirlpool: Before you release into the wild, test and VALIDATE your product better.That said, my other two kitchen appliances are Whirlpool.Please don't ruin your good name like Maytag did.By the way, we got the similar Whirlpool Model WSF26D4EXY with the conventional unit ice maker as a replacement...fingers crossed.

Had refrig installed 9/12/10. It made 1/2 bucket of ice and has not worked since. I am currently waiting for a service call between 10-1 today. After reading previous review I am not thrilled.10/5/10 First service guy said that freezer was not cold enough and we should set temp to -2. Not happening. Pretty sure water freezes at 32. Anyway that guy left and did nothing. Ice worked for a few days and stopped working again. Had another service call today. This guy said the water in the door is freezing. He just fixed this issue on a similar model 2 weeks ago. Need to order part and call for appt once part comes in. BTW I was on hold 45 on Monday to get service call appt. He thawed out the water line so I could have ice today but it will freeze up in a day or two. I asked Whirlpool for a new refrigerator and they said "No". My warranty says if it can be repaired then that is what we must do.
Be careful of this model with ice in door. It is a new model and it seems to have a defect. Buyer Beware!Update 7/13/11.Yes, they did fix the ice maker problem and everything worked well for several months. Then all of a sudden the whole thing started leaking water. I didn't know where it was coming from but it kept accumulating in front of the fridge. I finally cut off the water line to it and waited for the repair day.Sure enough, some little part had cracked and within a few mintues all was working fine again. I continue to like the appliance except for the problems. I also don't like having to wait the several days each time for the scheduled repair day.
I'm hoping that in a couple of months I can change my rating to five stars.I usually don't purchase items that haven't been reviewed but this refrigerator was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted the ice storage to be in the door but didn't want to have to remove the whole thing to access ice by hand and without using the dispenser. I bought it ag HHGregg for a good price and it was delivered the following day. Installation was not a problem. It made ice and water without a problem. But, a week later it stopped making ice. Because of the long weekend I had to wait three days to reach Whirlpool and then another two days for the service appointment. Well, that was today and I was told it needed a part but because the refrigerator was so new the part had to be ordered. I now have another service appointment for next week to have it fixed. Other than the ice maker problem, it's a great refrigerator with lots of space. My old top freezer was always jammed full and now I have more freezer space than I know what to do with.
Update on 9/20/10: Repair person came back to install parts and assured me it would work. Nope. Waited 24 hours to see if it made ice with no luck. So, now waiting yet another week for my third service call. Will have had the refrigerator for 4 weeks with the ice maker only working 1 week! Like the fridge other than the ice maker. Tons of space especially for the bag of ice I had to buy.

I was concerned about the ice maker in this fridge after reading all the reviews. After some encouraging reviews on other site, we decided to give it a try. The water pipe freezing issue has been resolved in 2011 models which adds a heater around the water pipe in the door. The fridge makes enough ice for normal use, we have never ran out of ice in two months. We make smoothies every day and use ice in our water, family of 4. The ice storage is not enough for the parties but that's true for any in-door ice maker.
All other things in this fridge works perfect. Spacious energy efficient design with nice decor.

Gasket came in an inadequet small package cramped and folded in a clumsy manner. The magnet is very weak and doesn't do the job. It looks like some left over from many years ago.
