I bought this freezer / fridge three years ago and it was, quite frankly, life changing. That might sound like an over the top statement, but in my situation it's true. I drive tractor-trailer for living and in an attempt to keep expenses low, have always had a microwave and DC powered cooler in my truck. This allowed me to avoid eating in truck stops and restaurants and save a lot of money, but my menu was limited because I didn't have the ability to keep frozen food. The Waeco CF-50 (same thing as Dometic CF-50 by the way) has allowed me to greatly expand the variety of food I can keep in my truck.

This freezer has an adjustable temperature ranging from 50 degrees (not sure why you'd want 50 degree food) all the way down to 0 degrees F. It keeps everything from frozen diners to Ben & Jerry's ice cream nice and solid. It comes with handles that you need to attach yourself, but I opted to leave them off. I've got the biggest factory sleeper available on a Peterbilt, but in a truck every inch of space gained is valuable. Since the handles don't collapse when installed, they stick out and cause the freezer to take up an additional four to six inches of space.

My one gripe with the design of this freezer is that the lid is convex instead of flat. This probably won't be an issue for most people, but I have the freezer sitting on the floor of my sleeper berth and my microwave sitting in top of the freezer. This would be an easy arrangement if it weren't in a truck that averages 120,000 miles a year on the decaying roads of America. The convex design makes it very difficult to place anything on top of the freezer and hope it will stay for long once the vehicle is in motion. I've resolved the issue by strapping the microwave down, but still, having a flat surface to work with would make it easier.

Other than that one small gripe, I have nothing but kudos for this unit. It saves me money on the road and when I'm home, we take it out and use it as a spare fridge or freezer, especially around the holiday season... we found it will fit a 14 pound turkey and handle any ham.

Amazon prices can change hourly or daily. I don't know if I would pay the current price... these are available for $550 elsewhere at the time of this review. Obviously that's a decision that you, the shopper has to make, but if you have the need, definitely get one from somewhere 'cause you won't be disappointed.

My ice maker had filled the inside of the freezer with water and frozen up. After defrosting all the ice and placing everything back in, the ice maker would not work. I replaced the filter and ice maker which seemed mechanically sound, I figured it was the water valve in the back even though I was still getting water through the door. I got the new valve very fast through Amazon. The new valve has push on connections. Just cut off the old threaded fittings and push the water line into the connection until it stops. I turned the water back on and checked for leaks. It was making ice within 15 minutes.

Great price for the replacement substitute for Frigidaire side-by-side. Read other reviews prior to purchasing so I was prepared to cut off old fittings and it was successfully replaced in seconds w/no problems. Great value. Arrived very quickly (ordered on a Thursday, arrived Monday)...18 days prior to est delivery date which was great seeing as I didn't want to have a non-functioning water/ice dispenser for any length of time. Appreciate previous reviews to make installation very simple!

For the last year my Frigidaire side-by-side fridge has been leaking from the water dispenser anytime I got a glass of water. It would drip for 20-30 seconds, filling up the drip tray, and then ultimately would spill over onto the floor. Additionally, when the ice maker was in ON mode, the water dispenser would drip the same way after the ice tray was filled. After some quick research I found out that the inlet valve needed to be replaced. This product is exactly what I needed, and the price was half of what I found elsewhere on the web. Installation was a breeze, even though it doesn't come with instructions. It's quite self-explanatory, and there's several YouTube videos in case you need help. Very satisfied with this purchase.

And now I have to keep typing because amazon tells me i have to in order to write this review.

Valve on 5 year old Frigidaire started leaking, so I googled the part number, and this was the replacement (different part no.). For $35 it was worth trying the replacement before calling an engineer.

Simple to replace, as mentioned, the connectors are push-in, so I had to cut the old ends off and they just popped in.

Most difficult was connecting the water inlet pipe, as the compression connector didn't quite fit, so replaced it with flexible hose from HD, and all is now fine.

I purchased this 3-pack of water filters and I'm definitely impressed.Perhaps it's the fact that I still had the original water filter from when I purchased my fridge back in October 2010, and the water and ice had a funky bitter taste to it.The funky taste is now gone, and my water and ice have a crisp, clean taste to them.

These new filters cleared that up since new charcoal is always a lot better than old charcoal.

One thing to note is that these filters are not built by LG itself, by by a company authorized/contracted by LG to make these filters, if that matters to you.

While these filters aren't cheap (around $30 a piece), I ultimately decided to go this route rather than have to deal with some other shady vendors on Amazon, specifically a company that sold Swift Green filters for a low price that absolutely did not match the product description that they had on their Amazon webpage (they stated 900 gallons per filter, but it was only 300 gallons per filter).I returned those filters and went with these.

So be aware of the other products out there the marketing for these filters state 6-months or 500 gallons, and that's exactly what's on the box you receive.

These are the genuine LG water filters that you'd buy at the local retail stores but much cheaper.I picked up one of these 6 months ago for $50+tax so buying this 3-pack was basically half-price.The genuine LG water filter does a great job water tastes great, no funky tastes.To me, the water even tastes better than the water I used to buy at the local water mart.

I've been using these filters now for over a year, and they are an excellent low cost replacement filter. The filter was easy to install and works with my refrigerator's change filter indicator light. The outer shell is thinner than higher cost filters, as a cost-savings measure. So you have to be a little careful not to force the filter when you replace it or you might damage it. But you shouldn't force the filter, period, no matter what you buy. I'm very pleased with this purchase and when it comes time to buy more, I will buy more of these.

Having read a few comments on seller who ship Kenmore filter instead, I was quite concern.Although it may work the same, to me WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) is important when I buy stuff on-line.

Well, I can tell you that I get what I was looking for.The shipment arrive on the second day.I did compare it side by side to the one that came with my LG fridge, exactly matched.I replace it and run water though as suggested. The water come out clear, clean, odorless and taste good.I have two units to spare, hence I will be a happy customer for at least a good 18 months (this is my first replacement after I get my fridge for almost 2 yrs).
