I have been KX filters for years.When I changed filters the old ones are still solid in one piece.That's why I use them.This is the work horse carbon filter for reverse osmosis.The main object is to filter out chlorine that degrades the membrane.According to the specifications, this filter has one of the highest chlorine capacity, meaning that you don't need to change filter that often. It also have VOC filter capacity.I use it after the sediment filter the finest filters goes last.
Now the filters come with individual labels and packing, with the KX mark moulded into the filter.
The spec are tested by the manufacturer.Though I trust my TDS meter.If the readings are consistently good, that means everything is working fine.
I'm a little puzzled.This cartridge works so much better in my GE filter than the GE ones I wonder why this is not claimed in the product description.My filter is hooked to a pantry faucet, not one of those piddly little filtered water taps.But flow is as if there is no restriction from the filter.With a GE cartridge it just dribbles out at perhaps0.25 gallons per minute.The water taste is excellent,and our raw water has a strong chlorine and organic debris taste and odor, I even have filters on the showers.I could find no specs on the filter.I wonder why.

I buy these filters all the time, but this vendor sent me a piece of crap broken and doesn't offer an exchange policy.
It was a waste of my time buying, receiving, and then returning.

Appliance guy told me about $250 to $300 to fix, and that was "iffy" since it could be another part!!......I said no thanks.Got on Amazon and put in my refrigerators model number and got a hit on this.I figured I could take an $80 shot in the dark, boy am I glad I did!!Only took a few minutes (one plug and 2 screws) to install and the ice maker is producing like the day we got it.Only wish I had done it sooner!!Save 51% Off
I got this to replace the one that came with my fridge and broke after 3 years.This was easy to install and works perfectly. Only gave 4 stars because when it arrived the front plastic cover was cracked.I'm not sure who's fault that is but I didn't care since I just used the old ones cover but if you are going to use this as a new one it might be worth noteing.
Liebherr CS1640 30 Inch Bottom Mount Refrigerator
Bought our 30" CS1640 in July 2009 from an appliance dealer in Bellevue, WA, for the same amount advertised here on Amazon. We live in an unincorporated area 32 miles east of Seattle, Wa.Likes:The height, style, overall appearance and accessibility inside the refrigerator are really great.
Dislikes:The refrigerator does not "cool" to the appliance temps that USA citizens are accustomed to. Everything stored in the refrigerator spoils in half the time that the problem occurs in US-manfuactured refrigerator/freezers.The ice maker produces minimal amounts of ice; has never filled the entire ice maker bin, as US oriented refrigerator/freezers do. In addition, 2 months ago, one week to the day after the 2-year warranty expired, the interior around the bottom freezer drawer began freezing up. At first, I didn't understand what was happening, then I discovered a full layer of thick ice build-up.That's when I contacted our dealer for a service call. That's when I learned that Liebherr controls all service calls from their service center in Scottsdale, Az.And that's when I experienced perhaps the poorest customer service I've ever had with an appliance, and I've been buying appliances for 40 years. Not only did the rep inform me (without benefit of a service call to analyze the issue)that my issue would not be covered by the warranty; she referred me to (3) service providers who are not licensed and bonded as businesses in the State of Washington.When I called back to get more providers, I was told they could not help me! And I bought this refrigerator because of Liebherr's commitment to the environment, promise of excellent service, etc.
Bottom Line:Had I known then what I know now, I would not have made an investment in this product.
