The only bad thing i can say about this item is that one of the rubber foots/feet came off when putting the item into its area. It was resolved by just putting the foot back where it broke from and it doesnt wobble or anything. I dont know if they sell replacement feet or not but it wasnt worth my time trying to get it fixed when i had it for 2 hours.

This unit is wonderful to look at and i enjoy the large size and the ability to look into the fridge and seeing all my wonderful bottles of wine! The racks only really hold the normal sized bottles and not the large ones or some of my champagne bottles. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how open bottles can still be put back into the fridge without spilling or leaking (by not being on its side but at an angle), but that was the biggest selling point for me with this fridge. I looked for others and could not find any with this feature under 1k.

A drawback: the door doesnt quite seem to open far enough to easily allow the racks to come out. Not a big deal but could be for some people.

Another possible drawback: when the fridge was first turned on it kind of had a whining "fridge running" kind of noise that was louder than the normal fridge. That went away and now has the same sounds as my normal fridge does when it turns on to keep the temperature.

Ok, so I just picked this up a few days ago at my local retailer (they had this unit on sale for %50 off) and I have to admit, this unit has been running pretty good. Now, I selected this unit based on several factors:

1) Wine Capacity

2) Open Wine Storage

3) Noise Level

This unit can accommodate up to 29 bottles (5 bottles per rack). The racks have a little trouble sliding out, but it's no biggie if you like to look at the wines individually (which is my preference). The bottom rack can be used for either oversized bottles like Champagne or you can store open bottles at the bottom (they are tilted at an angle) which is great so you do not have to take up room in your kitchen refrigerator. Another thing I like about this unit, it's very quiet. When you do hear the compressor turn on, it's only audible for about 3 5 seconds before it quiets down. If you are hosting a party or if you have some audible noise in the background, it will not be heard.

The unit itself needs about an inch and a half of clearing space between each of its sides so heat can escape properly (which prevents the unit from overheating). The back of the unit needs about two inches as well and it also needs about two inches of clearing space if you were to store it under a cabinet. So far I have it setup in my living room with two inches of clearing space all around and heat has not been an issue.

Now, this unit does not really have dual climate zones for red or white wines. Typically, the bottom of the unit gets a little colder, so they recommend putting your white wines at the bottom while the red wines stay up top. I currently have this unit set to 60 degrees and it has had no issues keeping the wines cooled. Time will tell to see how long this unit lasts. As far as appearance go's, this unit does have a nice look, stainless steel door frame and everything is black so it gives it a noticeable, but elegant look.

I've had this wine fridge about 9 months now and am very happy with it.I researched quite a bit before the purchase and liked the idea that this unit was actually by an "appliance" company, not some other company just making/marketing a product for a niche market.

Very quiet, barely/never hear the compressor cycle on when it starts the cooling cycle.Has 3 settings, red, white, and custom.External digital readout indicates the temperature stays within 1 degree up/down of the set point (haven't actually put a thermometer inside to verify the inside temp with the readout).Shelves have adequate spacing, no problems there.Nice sharp look in black and silver, and there's a cool interior bluish light you can turn of if you want to (it automatically turns off after a set time).

Got it on sale from major box store for $395 + tax, free delivery.Real happy with the purchase, price and capacity.When it's almost full I know it's time to stop buying wine or start drinking more :-)

I've had this wine Refrigerator for two (2) years without a problem.

It's quiet and

Maintains constant temperature +/2 degrees. Excellent for long term storage

Nice looking unit also.

I see someone complained about rubber feet. A minor annoyance that won't affect performance. No problem with mine. They don't need much adjustment.

I read another review which said, it Only lasted Seven (7) Years. About 6 more than most thermoelectric models that won't maintain temperature unless your room is a constant temperature. That's 2 years past compressor warranty. That is a great return on your investment too me. Seems any problems are corrected, although GE doesn't show up the next day nor would I expect them to, so that's a plus.

I wish they made a larger capacity model. Home Depot has 88 reviews averaging 4 1/2 stars.?So read negative reviews carefully to see if there really is a problem with the reliability of the product.

I have debated buying a wine fridge for a good month, read a ton of reviews and decided to go with the GE model. I am not disappointing with my decision, it works as expected and all the negative reviews i read about the rubber feet falling off was a non-issue for me.

The one thing i would say, even though i didn't buy this fridge for the locking system, the mechanism is really cheap, but i you can get around it just by not using it.

Otherwise love this thing, and makes you look like a sophisticate.

LG LFX31935 31 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator with Blast Chiller and Three-Layer Freezer, Stainle

I've owned the LG LFX31935 for a little more than six months, and overall it has been great. It has a cavernous interior with very flexible storage options. It does a great job of keeping food cold/frozen, and it's very quiet. The material and workmanship is top notch, and it looks great. There are two things worth commenting on in more detail: the wine chiller and the ice maker.

WINE CHILLER

This unique feature is a big plus, and honestly a big selling point for my wife and I. We don't have a wine fridge, and it's nice to be able to chill a bottle of red before drinking it. This "blast chiller", as it's called, works well it chills a bottle of wine from room temperature to ~62F in 8 minutes. You just pop open the blast chiller door, slide the bottle in cork first and rest it in cradle, close the chiller and the fridge and then press the button on the front panel. Most of the time, the thing just starts to work the cradle gently swirls the bottle while the cold air is circulated through the chiller's chamber (it's a bit noisy while running, somewhere between a dishwasher and a stand mixer). Sometimes, however, the chiller refuses to start and affirms its obstinance with a red light next to the start button. According to the manual, this can happen when the fridge is not down to temp, which kind of makes sense. But the behavior seems more random than that it has done this a half dozen times at least, sometimes when I'm pretty sure nobody has been in the fridge for hours. In fact, it seems to happen whenever have guests over and are trying to show off our #$%*&@ wine chiller! Otherwise, though it's a very slick feature and one we use all the time (though it would NOT be a good idea to use on a bottle that should otherwise be decanted due to sediment).

ICE MAKER

The ice maker on this unit is completely contained in the left-hand door. This leaves the main compartment wide open and unobstructed by the ice maker, which is great. The ice maker itself if rather small, as is the bin it's capacity is probably less than half that of my old side-by-side Kenmore 25 cu ft with the ice maker in the freezer. But the real problem is the dispenser. When you push a glass against the dispenser plate, an electric motor lowers a trap door in the dispenser chute and then the dispenser mechanism starts pushing ice down the chute. It works great until one of two inevitable things happen: ice cubes jam up in the chute (the jam can be freed by poking a finger up the ice chute effective, but somehow feels wrong), or ice delivery stops because the ice in the bin is frozen together (which requires opening the left door of the fridge, opening the ice maker door, and breaking up the frozen ice mass in the bin or discarding it altogether). This is not an occasional problem, it happens almost always the first time it is used in the day.

I've had the factory-authorized service company out several times. The last time, they replaced the entire ice maker assembly (and the control panel as well, for some reason). No joy. This problem is not going away until some aspect of the current system is redesigned: either the ice chute is not wide enough, the chute door doesn't open far enough, the ice cubes are the wrong shape, the ice doesn't stay cold enough, or maybe even a combination of several things.

In all, I'd say the positives significantly outweigh the negatives, but on a fridge that costs three times what my previous one did, I guess I expected more. I'm still hoping that LG will take an interest in the ice maker problem and provide a field upgrade, but I'm not holding my breath.

Dual Zone Built-in Wine Cellar

After extensive research to find a worthwhile & affordable wine chiller, this product hits the mark!My criteria for purchasing any chiller was that it had to:

Fit under countertop with nice appearance

Have Dual zone temperature

Have Front vent placement to prevent burnout

Come from a Credible manufacturer

Cost Under $1,000

I simply could not find any other wine chiller that met all of these needs.Summit is a great brand (from kegerator experience), and the capacity of this fridge is PLENTY (trust me) for those who like both red & white wines.

The fit & finish is rock solid, while the inside is beautiful with red-stained wooden support beams & blue LED lighting.The white wine temp range is from 40-50F, while the red wine temp range is 50-64F.

The chiller fit perfectly--just snug enough--underneath the countertop & flush against its neighboring base cabinets.You will need to make sure you install an additional grounded outlet very low in the wall in order to plug this item in and have it pressed directly into the back wall, but it will look & function great once it has been installed.

A couple precautions for prospective buyers:1) Beware of any wine chillers that do not have a front vent placement if you plan on placing this under a countertop (your compressor life will be shortened).and 2) do not place this item directly next to a heat-producing item such as an oven or dishwasher (this will also shorten its life and reduce its effectiveness).

Whirlpool 25 Cu. Ft. White Upright Freezer - EV250NXTQ

I spent a LOT of time researching various upright freezers when my 15-year-old 20 cu. ft. frost-free upright died.The EV250NXTQ from Whirlpool looked great large, efficient use of space, and inexpensive.I was wrong.It is by far the worst freezer I have ever used or ever seen.It keeps the food so warm that the food is soft to the touch.Whirlpool sent someone out, and they thought it might be the temperature sensor.They tried to get a replacement sensor, and even replaced the freezer, but I still have the same problem.I have to keep the freezer running on Turbo mode all of the time, just to keep it at a safe temperature.This makes it a fortune to operate, wasting a ton of energy.

I absolutely hate this freezer, and the people who came out to try to figure out what was wrong were not competent.Full, 3/4 full, doesn't matter the freezer isn't cold enough unless you run it in Turbo mode.Why bother with many different settings??

Whatever you do, buy a different freezer, hopefully from a different manufacturer.

We previously used 2 freezers a relatively new 20 cf Kenmore chest and a quite old (R12?) 15 cf Gibson chest freezer. While our intent was to always use one freezer except for the time of year when we either buy a side of beef or store recently harvested venison, we found ourselves using both freezers all year long.The old R12 freezer which worked great was an energy pig (it would work in a cold or hot garage which is a benefit of these older freezers).

At the time of our purchase, both of our freezers were about half full, and needless to say, we really couldn't find anything in either of them due to their chest design. We then took everything out of both old freezers and put them into the new Frigidaire upright freezer.Much to our amazement, it sucked up everything from both freezers and we could actually see what we had!!My wife laughed when she saw that I had about 12 boxes of Toaster Strudel in the freezer.My excuse was that I got them on sale but the cold reality was that I never knew how many we actually had and sure didn't want to face the wrath of the kids if I ran out. We sent the old 15 cf freezer to be retired for recycling and kept the spare 20 cf for future use if needed. I expect we will rarely, if ever, need the 20 cf chest again but will keep it given we have extra space and we never know how much wild game we will harvest from year to year.

I have a couple of gripes about the freezer. First, and probably to be expected, the items stored in the outside door don't get as cold. The meat feels fully frozen but the ice cream is somewhat soft (almost the same consistency as what you'd get at the grocery store).I'd prefer or at least feel better if I could get the ice cream to fully freeze in the outside door. I have the thermostat set to the highest setting short of the fast freeze feature and this goal is still not accomplished.

The second gripe is that the freezer is noisier than either of the freezers it replaced.By all means, it isn't bad or extremely loud it's just annoying.It has a higher pitched noise to it.My office is next to the room where the freezer is and I can work in relative silence if I close the door to the freezer room or my office.I mention this in the event that someone else might want to put the freezer in a noise sensitive area.The frequency of noise is most of the time, in my case, as I have the freezer on its coldest setting so it therefore seems to run most of the time.

I recommend this freezer and would buy an upright freezer from now on given the choice.The visibility of the items in an upright freezer clearly outweigh the benefits of saving a few bucks worth of electricity a year by having a chest freezer. By the way, I purchased this at Sears and have had it for a few weeks at the time of this review.

We had a bunch of problems with Sears Customer Service and Delivery. We ordered two appliances at one time to be delivered at the same time but due to a multitude of errors by them they delivered the freezer on schedule and missed the refrigerator. They tried to make up for it by promissing to have the refrigerator to us the next day by 8 p.m.Sears called to confirm the delivery for the next day between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and never showed or called even after they confirmed the delivery. Sears had the order marked "Cancelled Do NOT notify customer."Can you believe that?

A Sears representative then told us that we cancelled the order which we of course did not. Who would cancel a refrigerator order when your old one isn't working?They told us to see our original salesperson at the store which we did. He suggested that Sears has had a lot of delivery problems duh!After a bunch more hassle trying to fix the mess (and being told by another salesperson that we cancelled the order), we gave up and told them to actually cancel the refrigerator order.Would you believe that Sears called the following week to confirm delivery of the refrigerator for the following day? Unbelievable!!! As as it was an automated delivery system, my wife had to spend a bunch of time trying to get a live attendant to tell them we had cancelled the order a real pain. Although I would have felt guilty in doing it, I should have allowed Sears to try to deliver the refrigerator to our house while we were away. My wife earns sainthood for getting through to their CSR.

Based on my experience, I'd be very wary of purchasing appliances at Sears unless it is an in-stock item and you plan to bring the home with your own transportation.

I have been looking at this model for about a month and just about ready to buy but came across a review for this new unit. This unit was launched the summer of 2010 and not many reviews at all but Consumer Reports gives Whirlpool freezers a high rating overall. After reading this negative review about warranty exception I called Whirlpool to confirm this and the reviewer was correct. Apparently Whirlpool will void the warranty if the freezer is kept in temps that exceed 90 degrees or less than 40 degrees. Most folks keep these freezers either in their garage or basement for the most part if they have them and the reality is the manufacturer hasn't designed this unit to live in the real world of most home owners. Whirlpool's advise that I check with other manufacturers since she believed they are all made this way and have to be kept in careful climate. The reviewer was from MS where it gets hot but I live in SW Washington and it also get very hot in the summer. I am not spending 900.00 for a freezer that will break down compared to my older fridge/freezer that is ancient and keeps on ticking in hot and cold conditions in my garage. I have no basement and have no room to put a huge 24cf freezer in my house! How many folks you know have a stand up freezer in their kitchen or bedroom or whatever or anyplace else that has heat and air conditioning? If so then this freezer is for you but the majority of us will wait.

LG 28 CF French Door Refrigerator SS

My wife selected this refrigerator because of its spacious interior and ease of use.The ice maker does not take up any interior space in the freezer compartment and dispenses both cubed and crushed ice from a small area tucked into the left refrigerator door. We no longer buy bottled water because of the filtered water this machine dispenses.You can even place cans or bottles in the door in front of he ice maker!There is almost too much room inside the refrigerator with sliding and adjustable shelving to help with most any arrangement you may need. We have had this for about 3 months now and so far no problems.Our electricity use has dropped and the kitchen is much quieter because there is no loud compressor creating the cold air.

The two shelves for the freezer are very easy for my wife to open and they self-close with little effort. They hold all that we need but because of the large refrigerator space, there seems to be a bit less freezer space. We put less used items into the lower freezer drawer.Because there are two drawers, our frozen foods are not all jumbled together and are easier to organize.

We love the fact that we can fit large items that could never have found a home in our side-by-side refrigerator.It costs a bundle but if it is for your own personal use and you don't move around a lot, I believe you will find it worth the extra money.

My LG 4 door door refrig has failed twice now (after first year). Sure the exterior design is really pretty, and the shelving well thought out,but the interior piping for water is really cheap plastic that has failed TWICE now in different locations. I am NOT talking about the line from the wall outlet to the refrigerator unit. I am talking about the unit water piping. Piping that is part of the refrigerator unit. The type of piping for the application is not adequate... LG used this type of cheap piping to save money. The failure flooded my kitchen both times. And to top it off, LG service and support is very, very poor to boot. Call backs promised but never received. Parts promised but never received.

At the same time I bought the LG refrigerator, I also bought their top of line dishwasher... It too has a serious engineering flaw that caused the counter weight system on the door to fail. Now the door, when opened, drops to the floor like a lead balloon... I took the machine apart and discovered the pully system for the door uses string!Wow I could not believe it! Of course the problem was caused by the string breaking. Surprise! I call it extremely cheap engineering (hidden of course so you can't see it....).

After researching, apparently I am not the only one to experience these problems.

I will absolutely avoid all LG appliances. I am deeply disappointed with both my LG appliances.

I will never ever buy LG appliances again after my experience with LG....

This fridge was chosen beacause when I reviewd it, everything everyone said talked me into buying it. I do think it is very quiet, has a lot of room, the ice dispenser doesn't take up much room at all and has seperate drawers to keep everything at their own temperature. I started to notice that it seemed to be messing up more and more until I decided to look for a different fridge. I do love LG products and think they are great, but for a fridge, not their best work. I found a different one that I know is going to work 10 times better and it even looks cooler. This one has a dual cooling system, 4 doors, can hold even more items, produces more ice, and has led lighting. It's perfect and can't wait to get it set up.

Stainless streaks and is NEVER clean (compared to my other stainless appliances this is pathetic)

Ice dispenser has never worked. I was told by LG (whose customer service dept. is in the Philippines) to open the door each time and bang on it (it is 1 month old)

Large bottom drawer ? Freezes lettuce and fruit.Really odd instead of two half drawers - it is one very long one so BOTH top doors have to be open to access it.

A useless fridge poor use of space.Even gallon milk containers are a challenge to fit in correctly.
