Whynter WC-16S SNO 16 Bottle Wine Cooler, Platinum with Lock

Whynter WC-16S SNO 16 Bottle Wine Cooler, Platinum with Lock
  • Adjustable thermostat for storing different wine varietals (52F - 64F)
  • Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature display
  • Enhanced Blue Light LCD temperature display feature for precise control
  • Cylinder lock and two keys included
  • Solid state components for long life- the only moving parts are fans to circulate cool air within the wine cooler and dissipate heat outside the unit

After reading the mixed reviews I decided to roll the dice and order this item. I could not find a 16 bottle fridge anywhere close the price.

The packaging was excellent, no signs of damage to the box at all (it came from Dallas to San Antonio).

The setup takes minutes. The handle does not come pre-attached but was easy to install. You can use it without. I don't currently have a use for the keys, but once I have children I think it will come in handy.

I read other reviews about it not being able to store white wine, which is not true, wine needs to be stored around 60F to maintain its life. White wine should be "served" at a lower temp which is differant. I don't think its a big deal stick a bottle of white in the kitchen fridge 30 minutes before I start drinking it.

Only had it a week but so far so good, it is very quiet and maintains the temp it is set too.

One thing to note when placing the cooler is to make sure you have the proper clearances to maintain airflow (2" on the sides and 4" at the back). I suspect this may have been a problem people with burned out fans/motors have had. This is not a "built-in" unit.

I bought this specific wine fridge because it has a lock. In order to be a licensed foster home, all of your alcohol must be locked away. It fits 16 bottles very comfortably inside and always shows the inside temperature in a nice blue digital light. I keep mine at the lowest possible, 51 degrees and it only seems to go up if I open the door. I like that there's room on the bottom of the fridge that can fit 6 bottles of beer laying on their side. If you're buying better beer (not miller/coors/bud) this is actually the right temperature to store it. We're brainwashed into thinking beer has to be ice cold, because crap beer does need to be ice cold in order to mask the skunked flavors. Anyway, the fridge also has an inside light you can turn on to display your wines. You have to put the cheap plastic handle on yourself, but I left it off. The lock is kind of a joke. The key is just a pentagon allen wrench. I think if your kid can uncork a bottle of wine, he/she can probably pick this lock with a screwdriver. Remember to keep it a few inches away from the wall on all sides or it won't get the proper air flow and you'll burn the motor out.

We're aspiring but very budget conscious wine "appreciaters". Been slowly working our way up from 2buck chuck many years ago to Willamette Valley and even some interesting Chilean wines. Our 10 year old wine cooler finally had enough abuse and passed away peacefully a week ago and we decided to replace it with a compact countertop unit that would work with our 850 square foot apartment. We were tempted to get one of those very small "microwave looking" 12 bottle coolers but could not bring ourselves to live with something that tacky looking. Finally decided on a 16 bottle and after lots of indecisiveness went with this Whynter 16bottler.

Happy to report that my lovely wife, who is the picky one, was very pleased with the design and finish of this unit. It cools down fast to the the supposedly ideal 58F and maintains the tempreture well. It's a couple of bucks pricier than some others but I'm not complaining. This is working out great for us and would happily recomend it. BTW, Amazon prime is the best thing ever.

Very pleased with the unit. Had a Cuisinart that kicked the bucket after a year and was noisy to boot. This thing is ultra quiet and is terrific so far. Leave the handle off, it looks a lot better without it.

I've had this for more than a year now and it has done its job almost perfectly.Only negative is bottle size issues but almost all coolers have that problem and I just lay them in a different direction.Unit is not too loud and has kept wines at optimum temperature.

Proctor Silex 33015Y 1-1/2-Quart Round Slow Cooker

Proctor Silex 33015Y 1-1/2-Quart Round Slow CookerThis is a quality product, perfect for cooking for 1-3 people (smaller families, college students, etc.).I highly recommend it.It is so easy to use and fuss-free.Also, most smaller crock pots have only one setting, but this one has three (high, low, and keep warm). It has a nice glass lid and a removable ceramic crock, both of which you can clean in the dishwasher.I use mine at least a few times a week, and I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

This little slow cooker has everything you need:removable crock, longer cord, three (*3*) heat settings, glass metal-rimmed lid, small footprint. As far as I can tell, it doesn't overheat, even on high.I just made a wonderful roast in it: about 1.5 lbs chuck roast (trimmed), 1 medium Walla Walla sweet onion, 2/3 can low-sodium beef broth, 2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce, and 1 Tbsp no-salt garlic/herb seasoning blend; brown the roast in a little oil, put in crock with other ingredients; cook on high for 4.5 hrs or on low for 8 hrs should do the trick; thicken the juice with a little cornstarch for gravy to serve over mashed potatoes --HEAVEN!!!

It's the perfect size for 2-3 chicken breast halves, a small pork roast or a pork tenderloin or two, a nice small pot of soup, etc.You should get enough for a meal today plus leftovers for a couple of additional meals.

Clean up is a breeze with the removable crock, and the exterior of the unit cleans just fine with a damp cloth. The small footprint allows for out-of-the-way placement on the countertop for cooking, and easier storage.

I'm an older adult grad student, and this little cooker is going to get a lot of use this winter while I'm working on my thesis.Highly recommended!

If you're looking for a small slow cooker for dips, appetizers, whatever, this is it. It's got 2 of the most important features to look for in a slow cooker, a removable crock and a keep warm setting. I don't know why, but these features are kind of hard to find on smaller crock pots.I have another one this size that only has an on and off setting with no removable crock. It will never be used again.

It's the first slow cooker I've owned and I have cooked one meal with it only, today, but I like it already. It's $20 and it's basic (no power light for example, which feels odd for any kitchen device) but it has a good quality internal white ceramic pot and glass lid.Three settings keep warm, low, and high and nothing else (no timer, no automatic way to switch from cook to keep warm).I had read that some slow cooker lids rattle while they're cooking, but happily that problem did not show up, on low cooking anyway.I cooked a meal for eight hours, and it did not show any signs of drying out, so I think it will be fine for leaving on low heat during the work day.The internal pot lifts out for serving, and it cleaned up immediately I put it in hot soapy water.Size is fine for two or three servings.I'm now kind of glad I could not get the Breville slow cooker (good reviews but much bigger, and out of production) and opted for this because it's small and simple but it does the job!

Panasonic NN-SD372S 0.8 cuft 950-Watt Microwave with Inverter Technology, Stainless Steel

Panasonic NN-SD372S 0.8 cuft 950-Watt Microwave with Inverter Technology, Stainless SteelI had a Magic Chef 0.7 cubic ft microwave for 10 years and the turntable gave out.

Same kind of door opening so I'm not concerned about that not holding up.

There are quite a few things to commend the Panasonic.

The size is perfect for me at 0.8 cu ft.It fits all my plates easily, takes up little space and is light in weight.I previously looked at Costco's 1200 watt Panasonic but it was too big and too many watts.

This Panasonic at 950 watts does not blow my circuits yet heats quickly. It is simple to operate.

The highlight for me is how it defrosts.I love the inverter defrost function.

This was the only small model that I found that had the feature. It defrosts beautifully.

(I had given up defrosting anything in the Magic Chef---It always cooked the edges.)

I also like the quick minute button.

I don't know that this machine would be the answer for someone who actually cooks in the microwave.........For me it meets my needs for reheating and defrosting, perfectly.......I save my cooking for the Breville Toaster oven........

P.S.Just wanted to add that the turntable is 11 inches--not the 13 stated in the description.

Bought this product because we had a limited space.

It does all the thing the others do but it weighs

less and takes less space.....add to that the

price and you have a price performer

I am glad I purchased the Panasonic NN-SD372S.It's quiet and heats food evenly and quickly even with only 950-Watt.It would be nicer if it has stainless steel all around instead of just the front door.

It weights much less than my old and noisy Kenmore microwave.

The best feature for me is the knob for adjusting weight and time, very convenient.

I had my old microwave (a Sharp Carousel) for over 20 years when it finally pooped out. I did a lot of research before I purchased this Microwave from Amazon. I decided on the Panasonic NN-SD372S 0.8 because of the Inverter feature and it's 950 watts and most of all the customer reviews. When I received it I thought it would be too difficult to uses because of all the features it had and just glancing at the directions made my head spin. But I read through the directions again and they seemed to make more sense. I love this microwave. I've only used it with the power levels and minute timer and I also used the popcorn setting. It is very quiet and the five beeps at the end of cooking are not blaring like my last microwave. The only thing I don't like is that every little fingerprint shows up on the stainless steel finish. I still gave it 5 stars though. I haven't used it that long so I hope I don't have any problems down the line.

Ordered one of these a month ago and have been very impressed with the features.Heating and re-heating is very precise and lots of options. After a month, noticed that the unit would stay "buzzing" after re-heating cycle when you remove food from the microwave. This would last for about 30 seconds and then stop.Returned to Amazon and received another unit.Called Panasonic this time and they indicated that this is normal operation as fan is cooling off microwave.Must be related to the "inverter" technology. This is not mentioned anywhere in manual or on Panasonic website.Hope to save others the hassle of returning a fully functional unit.Just need to determine now if we can live with this minor annoyance as it is a nice microwave.

  • Maintains the selected temperature
  • Interior Light v on/off switch on front of fridge controls the interior light
  • ON/Off Switch - on front of fridge turns the unit on and off
  • Chrome Self Locking Door Handle and Control Buttons

I bought mine about 6-7 months ago, and it worked great initially. It would cool down to 39 degrees in a few hours.I used it in my office at work. When the temperature would rise, I would hear the fan come on and after a while it would reach the set temperature with no problems.

Then, after about 4 months, I noticed the temperature slowly climbing into the 50's, and it has been there ever since.I no longer hear the fan come on as strongly as before. I have tried cycling the power, resetting the temp at 39F but it just won't get any colder than about 50-52F.

I called the manufacturer, and the only replacement part that can be ordered is a new power supply. To me, something is wrong with the fan.I guess it could be the power supply, but all of the other functions on the unit seem fine (the internal light, the display). And it heats to 125F with no problems either.

I'm going with a Coleman Powerchill 40.Much better name brand.

I purchased this about 6 months ago and this fridge worked great. The size was large enough for many cans of soda. It has a light and the built in thermostat was great. Up until yesterday everything worked great, unfortunately the thermostat starting going crazy and the fridge constantly beeps now and it does not cool or heat anymore because of it. I would say that when it worked it was great but breaking down in such a short time is definite negative.

I bought this mini fridge because the style was cool and compact.Unfortunately, in less than a year it stopped cooling.I paid $35.00 to ship it back and a replacement was sent to me.That one lasted two months.I have had a problem with water pooling on the bottom and now the vent where the cold air comes out is covered in ice. There is no warranty, no list of repair places and no way to contact the company who makes it.Don't wast your money.

Frigidaire Refrigerator Water Dispenser Actuator 241685703
  • Genuine Replacement Part
  • Replaces 5304433613
  • If unsure, please ask your seller if it would fit your model

Plastic piece does not have a "bottom out" position so if someone presses too hard on it, it will break. Hard to believe $75 is a good deal on this piece of plastic with 2 led's, but is the best deal I could find.

When our actuator snapped into two pieces last week, I found this to be the most reasonably-priced replacement on the web. BUT, since it still means spending $70, I held off and went to Home Depot and spent 20 minutes comparing different plastic-fusing glues. I went with Henkel 681925 Loctite 0.07-Ounce Super Glue Plastic Bonder, which is also sold here on amazon.com

Following the instructions (applying the primer on both surfaces, waiting for 60 seconds and then applying the glue sparingly on one of the two surfaces you want fused together), I added another thin bead of glue to the joint then carefully held the two pieces together with blue masking tape. I left the tape on for about 24 hours, and it's been five days since and the glued together pieces are staying put. Feels like it never broke.Of course, our house has no kids--just my husband and I so we don't really slam the glass against the lever, which is something kids could easily do.

Note: I left the the actuator on the freezer door which means I did not need to use any tools (it broke where the top of the clear and black lever tapers off suddenly narrows but thickens towards the top).

These great filters. So much easier then the bad old

days when the filters was behind the refridge., and

was in line and was a mess to change.

The problems that the one of the previous users

was reporting can be avoided by checking the manual

for your fridge for reseting the warning light. It's easy,

once you know how to do it.

And even if you never get the little red light to go out

the filters come with date stickers so you can be reminded

when it's time to change the filter. Add to that the ease

of installation and the effect filtering and you get a product

that functions very well.

I purchased a new home in august that came with a fridge that used one of these filters. I noticed when I would get water from the fridge water dispensers it would always taste metallic. Then one day the change filter light came on so I bought one of these filters and now the water from the fridge tastes great. These things really do work! They are easy to install as well.

I ordered this wine cellar to replace one that had stopped working. My old one was also a 6 bottle cellar but when I compared the dimensions listed here on Amazon, this one was bigger. It was 3 inches taller.I almost didnt order it for this reason.I searched for a few days and decided to go ahead and purchase this one. After ordering, I spent half the day moving things around to find a new place for this larger unit. I received my order yesterday . I was shocked when I took it out of the box and set it beside the old one . They were IDENTICAL in size!It appears to me that the dimensions listed on this include the SHIPPING BOX!!

This wine cellar is quiet and cooling perfectly. I am very happy with my purchase. The dimensions of this wine cellar are 20 inches deep X 14.5 inches tall X 10 inches wide .

Very pleased with this unit so far. Exterior digital display makes it easy to keep and eye on the temp. The temp selector is an analog dial inside the unit, and doesn't have numeric scale, so there's some trial and error to get the right temp, but overall works well. The unit is out in our garage that fluctuates with the outside temp, and overall does a very good job maintaining temp, even when it's up into the 80s and 90s outside. Will be purchasing a 2nd one shortly so we can have a red and white cellar at different temps.

I bought this to age cheese and wine in, per another review. It works great. The temp is controlled by a knob inside the unit, so you may have to do a little trial and error to get it to where you need it.Not bad at all.

To start with, I'm not a wine cona "sewer".I don't know that much about it and would never pay a lot for it.Crown Royal is my drink of choice. However, I saw this wine deal from Wall Street Journal. The introductory offer was about 15 bottles for about $90 with no shipping charges. This is about $6 a bottle which is in my league.Every 3 months or so they offer you some more but not so cheaply. You can cancel at any time.(Wish it was that easy with marriage!)So I ordered it.The bottles have nice labels and many foreign pedigrees.

While drinking that first bottle, I decided to investigate wine chillers again.I had looked several years ago and Consumers Reports had reviewed many, mostly bad.I looked again and Consumers has rated only the expensive, $1500, models.I would never pay that. So, I started looking at Amazon. This model seemed to have good reviews and the price was good.(At that time, it was $62 with free, Amazon Prime, shipping. Now, the price is not so good.)

I kinda wanted the nickel finish but someone wrote that the whole unit wasn't nickel so I opted for this black one, a little cheaper, and, it would go okay in our kitchen. The unit was very well packed in an extra heavy cardboard box and enclosed in Styrofoam.I thought the quality was excellent. It fits very nicely on our kitchen counter, not taking up very much room.It has an internal LED lite that you can turn off if you want. It's not enough light to read the bottle labels but it is really cool looking when you have your friends over.

Haier seems to be pretty well known for making refrigeration units. This unit, however, does not have a compressor. It uses thermoelectric cooling, conversion of electricity into cooling. As such, it could be more reliable (and smaller) and quieter. You might compare this unit to a Styrofoam cooler with ice on the bottom. There aren't any coils in the sides, bottom, or top of this unit.Maybe a negative is that the unit runs all of the time to maintain the desire cooling.

The manual states that the internal temperature is a function of the external temperature. This makes sense if you again think of this unit as similar to a Styrofoam cooler. We keep our home at about 70 degrees.I found that the min and max temperatures of this unit were 47 and 63 degrees which is agreement with the manual specifications and covers what I found on the internet to be a recommended range for wine chilling 43 to 65 degrees. For me, if it contains alcohol and I want it, I will drink it no matter what its temperature is!The temperature adjustment is a simple knob. Those that desire more precision should perhaps opt for a digital model.

As far as the Wall Street Wine goes, I was disappointed.I thought that the big W Mart wine, going for $4, was much better. One reviewer complained about noise from this unit. There is some noise from the fan which runs all the time, but, unless you live in a mortuary, any noise would probably be overcome by your refrigerator, TV, or kids.At the price I paid, I was thinking about buying more units simply for storage of something! It is pretty cool looking!

Unless you think you can drink more than 6 bottles a day, when even I, a serious drinker, can't, I think this unit is a good choice. With the price increase I have just seen, you might evaluate other units.I definitely think that a non-compressor unit is the way to go for small (and cheap) coolers.
