Vinotemp VT-WINEDISP2 2 Bottle Wine Dispenser, Black
The second unit turned on and refrigerated but didn't dispense. The manual only says, "Change the gas cylinder and if that doesn't work, inspect the solenoid."I changed the gas canister and that didn't work, and I didn't feel like prying the unit apart to find a solenoid and 'inspect it somehow.'Vinotemp customer service never returned my calls. When I did finally get through to someone they seemed baffled by the problem, took my name and phone number, and after a couple days, they haven't called me back. Now using Amazon Prime again to return and replace the item.
The first replacement unit did work just fine.Chilled AND dispensed.Easy to use and setup and maintain. The compressor and fan do make a fair amount of noise so you may not want this in an area where you expect some quiet.I'll update if the 2nd replacement unit doesn't work, at which point both will go back in favor of lower tech and cheaper alternatives.
*** update
The second unit arrived and functioned just fine. Both have been happily humming along for a little over a month. They are a bit loud when the compressor is running, and the front lights keep a room pretty well lit when dark, but the wines are lasting 1-2 weeks and I love the convenience.Worthwhile...if you get broken units just keep returning them until you get working ones.Fingers crossed these will last a good long time.I am on my second unit and I am frustrated. The unit has worked fine, however the performance has been disappointing.I was told that I could get 5 bottles of wine per cartridge and I am able to get 1 1/2 bottles at best.I tried a second unit and the result is exactly the same after using four canisters. My recommendation is not to buy this product.

I bought the Vinotemp in October 2012 thinking it would be a nice addition to my bar set up and a convenient, allbeit expensive, way to preserve a nice bottle of wine for more than a few days.My initial observations upon unwrapping the package:
1) My unit has been opened and possibly used before. In fact, the nitrogen cartridge was already installed and probably half full, though I don't know for sure as replacing it was one of the trouble-shooting techniques I describe below.
2) Looks nice.Probably too large to fit under most cabinets, but if you've got some space, it certainly adds some sophistication to an unsophisticated wine display
3) Plug it in, turn it on, set the temp...mine works.Woo hoo!
I diligently cleaned out the hoses in the contraption, particularly since, as noted above, the unit had probably been used before. This entailed using the already-installed nitrogen cartridge to pump warm water from empty wine bottles through the dispenser system. The system hooked up to the bottle nicely and the water flowed through with no problems.
I was especially excited about the machine because it would give me the flexibility to compare two different vintages of Twomey I'd saved for this occassion without having to worry about 3/4 of each bottle going to waste.I opened up the 2007 Merlot and 2008 Merlot and poured a glass of each before attaching the 2 bottles to the machine.I enjoyed the wine in the glasses I initially poured, but when I went back for a few more ounces of each, this time dispensed from the machine, I noticed a distinctly different bouquet and flavor the wines that were full and sweet and alive out of the bottle seemed empty and fruitless and lifeless out of the machine.
I've tried troubleshooting, but have observed that, in my experiments, the only variable that causes good wines to become lifeless and fruitless is the fact that it's dipensed from the machine. Some of the things I've tried with different bottles to mitigate this effect include:
1) Letting the wine breathe longer before attaching it to the machine.
2) Changing out the nitrogen cartridge
3) Changing the temperature setting
4) Cleaning the system diligently -again
5) Running the wine out of the machine through a Vinturi into my glass
So, conclusion (A) is that my machine is easy to use and looks nice, but is severly detrimental to the quality of the wine.
The next disappointing conclusion I've drawn, conclusion (B), is that this machine does not preserve wine any longer than the cheap wine preserver vacuum pump kits. This unit is advertised to preserve wine up to 45 days, although maybe all of the advertisements have gotten it wrong and left the '-' that should be between the '4' and the '5' out.I've found that, if used properly, many of the

I purchased mine at Sears Outlet scratch and dent for $1000.00. Folks, this is the way to buy appliances in my opinion. Mine has a dent in the side that doesn't show because it's recessed. Big deal...a dent at the bottom about 4 inches long hidden away.Anyway, on to the good stuff. The produce drawer is great. The shelving on the left side of the door is wasteful. It's one of those things where you look at it sideways and use your imagination...I use it to stash sticks of butter. The frig is roomy. The water filter replacement is handy and easy to do. Never seems to run out of ice. The freezer is deep and holds a lot of items.
I've not had the experience with the noise but it does sound like a fax machine whenever it fills the ice trays. It's humorous actually...the frig sounds like a fax is coming through at any moment. That's only a couple of seconds so it's no big deal.
For $1000 at the Sears Outlet center I am more than satisfied.
Love this fridge. It hold alot of food and we have not had the problems with the noise. All refriderators make some kind of noise and this one is no loader than any other. We love the way it tells you have many ounces of water you are using. All of these new refriderators have smaller ice makers than in the past but this one keeps up pretty good.If you are going to have a party, buy some bags of ice but we have a family of four and we do not have a problem with how fast this makes ice.Overall, it looks great and works great. The whirlpool refridge is very similiar but just not as fancy on the inside but this kitchenaid has a much longer warrenty on the compressor than the whirlpool.

The refrigeraor looks good but it does not sound good. The compressor and fan run 80% of the time and are loud. It is very annoying. It appears KitchenAid has stop making its "Whisper Quiet Compressor System." What a mistake I made buying this.I have had this refridgerator for six weeks. Two sound modules have gone out.(The alarm for the door). The front has rust streaks on the bottom drawer and both upper doors.
Kitchen aid denies any responsiblility for the rust as " cosmetics are only covered for the first 30 days."
What a disappointment this is, a huge waste of money.
As far as "stainless" goesgood quality stainless steel will not hold a magnet. Magnets do stick.
This is a poor excuse for a refridgerator for a lot of money.
BAD DEAL

Got the now unavailable cheaper model despite many negative reviews about small cube size and slushy consistency.Largest size is ~1.5cmX2cm; ice was slushy (better for your teeth if you habitually chew) -but I decided to post a review after using home distilled water ($99 unit, google and see unreputable-looking ad) -someone less full of BS than myself will explain it better, but water needs impurities to form ice crystals; well water produces about 9 cubes after 6 minutes, and rest assured the entire basket does fill up; 1st 6 minutes with distilled water yielded a single sliver of ice.A couple of hours later (MUCH longer than with well water) I had a full basket of black-hole-dense, super-clear, diamond-hard ice, like I've never seen before.I'm a 3-lighter-a-day smoker and live with several of every type of mammal, so I suspect it took that long for "impurities" (or as the mammals call it, "fiber for your lungs") to get into the Polar's water system. If instead it takes as many hours to refill the basket, I suspect the water's few impurities just got the slow crystallization process rolling and this will be the case with every subsequent cycle -if I get impatient I'll cut the distilled water with well (or tap or bottled or simply filtered) water.I don't sell distillers (if I did I'd try to spell them correctly on my super-discount-distiller site) but I'm a fan -but then I'm killing 500+ watts for 2 hours, then running this 100watt Polar unit -but then the distiller is a fantastic space heater and warm humidifier.I'd be surprised if I refill the Polar with water twice a week, though I fill a pint glass 4 or 5 times a day with ice.But now that I have super-pure-supercooled rock-hard ice I'm going to need an industrial ice crusher. But industrial ice crushers make for wonderfully relaxing white noise machines...
