I bought this item to put on an indoor chest freezer to keep my toddler out of it. It attached easily and securly and I would recommend this for this use. The lock is able to stand up to my "He-ma" of a toddler and that makes me a happy camper.

Wine Enthusiast Silent 12 Bottle Wine Refrigerator (Stainless Steel)

Wine Enthusiast Silent 12 Bottle Wine Refrigerator
  • Stainless Trim Door
  • Silent Cooling Technology
  • Temperature range: 50-66F
  • Exterior Digital Controls w/temperature display
  • 12 Bottle Capacity

We've had this cooler for about two years now and it has performed wonderfully.

It does produce a noticeable noise when running, so I don't think it's suitable for use in a common area. At first we had it near our entertainment area, but the noise it made while running became annoying during cards, conversation or while watching TV. It does not accommodate larger bottles, so some of the taller bottles will have to find a home elsewhere.

Just received my Silent 12 Wine Refrigerator and for the most part I am very pleased. Solid, good size, runs quietly and well priced. My only complaint is that not all wine bottles fit into it. Take for example KendallJackson's Chardonnay. The bottom circumference is too big to fit. The only way it can fit in is if you take out the middle shelf. Not a big issue, but something for Wine Enthusiast's engineers to consider. To solve the problem I simple drank that bottle first. Other than that I think the Refrigerator is great. George SNYC

We've had this running for a couple of months now. Runs like a champ. Silent, cools to the target temp quickly, light is actually bright enough to be useful. As noted in the description, larger-diameter bottles don't fit easily on the racks. This is our 3rd wine fridge, and that was the case for all 3. My approach with this Wine Enthusiast model was simply to remove the bottom wire shelf (no need for tools -just pull it out and stow it in a drawer). That allows you to fit four big bottles on the bottom row easily, allowing you to still have a total of up to 12 bottles in the fridge. If you want to cool more than 4 big bottles simultaneously, only then will you need to pull an additional wire shelf.

I ordered this product even though some reviewers had bad luck.I've owned several wine fridges and have only had bad luck with a really cheap Emerson that I bought at Target. This model was delivered within 4 days of my order. It was packaged well in strong cardboard and styrofoam...no dents or damage at all.We left it in the packaging for several days to let it settle, then carefully removed it from the packaging and placed it on the kitchen counter. It requires 1 inch space on all sides but that's not a problem with standard counter tops.We put it by the fridge so that it doesn't look out of place.I had no difficulty fitting my reds and whites in it using the 3 metal shelves everything fit with the bottle top facing forward and no labels were damaged.

It looks very nice and runs so quietly I can't hear it at all.It took about 8 hours to reach the temperature I set (54) and it has stayed on that temp without interruption for the 10 days we've had it.(I have not put a secondary thermometer inside to see if it's precisely at this temp, but for my casual wine collecting purpose, it's just fine if it's a couple of degrees above or below.)

I'd recommend. It was a good price and works well as an alternative to a built-in unit.

I had bought my gas dryer from someone not knowing they didn't include a lint catcher. Well when I found out it didn't have one I had no idea where to start looking and so someone told me to check Amazon. So I did and I found this product. I bought it not knowing if it would fit or not but I gave it a chance. The shipping was amazingly fast and it fit perfectly inside my dryer. I only clear it out every other time I use my dryer because this item is so big it catches everything and more! Definitely glad I got it!

Vinotemp VT-18TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 18-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless

Vinotemp VT-18TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 18-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless
  • Freestanding digital wine chiller keeps up to 18 bottles properly chilled
  • Thermo-electric cooling system protects wine from unnecessary vibration
  • Ultra-quiet operation; does not use ozone-depleting chemicals
  • Energy-efficient dual-paned glass door; 5 pull-out shelves included
  • Measures 21-1/2 by 14 by 25-1/2 inches; 1-year limited warranty

I've had this unit for about 3 weeks and it's running quite well. It arrived quickly and undamaged. Packing could have been better but since it arrived OK, no problem. It fits 18 normal wine bottles (750ml). It's quite quiet (certainly less noisy than the Cusinart I had). Temperature is adjustable and accurate. Obviously it allows for one temperature, so if you like your white wines chilled you'll probably have to move it to the fridge and hour before you open the bottle.

Overall I'm very happy with this unit. We called a wine store for a recommendation and this is the manufacturer he recommended.

Buy Vinotemp VT-18TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 18-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless Now

Pros: Looks nice, easy interface, temperature control is pretty quick. The other review is right, the packaging is very good.

Cons: The big con is that this unit will NOT fit all 750ml bottles adequately. I bought a long-necked bottle of Riesling...it's an inch too long to fit! I had to lay it diagonally across the bottom tray, taking up 3 spaces. I bought a wide 750ml bottle of Pinot, and a bottle of port..they're too wide to fit the middle racks. I have to stick them in the top rack. Ok, I understand it's not meant to hold 18 port bottles but you'd figure that the rest of the wider red bottles should fit. But no. Even some other moderately-wide 750ml bottles seem to have trouble fitting into the middle racks.

If the unit was just a little a couple inches taller and deeper to accommodate more 750ml bottle shapes, it would be a great device. As is, expect to fit about ~15 bottles, and have some squeezing/rearranging issues.

Purchased this wine cooler in November '10, stopped working in July '11. When i first began using it, it took awhile to get down the to proper temperature something like 3 days. But once it did, it was fine. However, when summer came along the unit couldn't get the temp below 65 degrees, sometimes struggling at 68-69 degrees. After about a week in the high sixties, the temp shot up to 80 degrees, even though the temperature of the room was in the mid 70s. Warranty is 90 days, so I now have to purchase a replacement cooling system for $50 i hope the service instructions are good.

Poor quality, I would look elsewhere.

They sent the wrong cooling system first, then when the correct unit came, it did not work. This whole experience from the product to the service has been a joke.

We wanted a unit that could hold a sufficient number of bottles of wine with out taking up too much space and that doesn't generate a lot of heat or noise. This Vinotemp 18-bottle unit fills all of the above. It fits neatly into a space behind our wet bar and is very quiet. We are very pleased with it and the speed of shipment.

LG 2.7 CF COMBO WASHER-DRYER WHITE

LG 2.7 CF COMBO WASHER-DRYER WHITE(This review is for the Silver model that I own Amazon has not yet merged the reviews, so I'm cross-posting)

QUALITY

The build quality of this washer/dryer combo is inconsistent: On the plus side, the machine is heavy enough to stay put, and the drum feels so solid that you could wash bricks in it.Giving 10 years warranty on the motor is also a nice touch. On the other side, the entire front (including the secondary "glass" and shiny bezel around it) is made of plastic, the control panel gets hot (can't be good for the electronics), and I have observed kinks, such as a program starting in the middle maybe 1 out of 10 times, requiring an extra off/on.

THE WASHER

Frontloaders are only now making inroads in the US market, and if you believe "the internet", they are magical. I can confirm at least some of the claims in this specific incarnation: First, the washer is extremely frugal with all consumables involved: I'm down to 2 tablespoons of detergent and 1 of softener with no adverse effects; water is kept no higher than a puddle at all times, and the 1 hour cold cycle runs on a measly 0.1 kWh (or 3 cents for me). Second, the machine is easy on clothes: there are Delicate and Wool modes to give you an idea, plus I have successfully cleaned neoprene wetsuits (with special detergent), which are said to be shredded by agitators.

The major downside to the design is that the horizontal drum causes vibrations that many US homes cannot easily absorb. Consider my case, top floor of a pre-war walkup, woodbased building: even on medium spin speed, the contents of the fridge next to the machine would rattle loudly, and I only saw some relief after I bought Sorbothane Silent Feet. I'm fairly content now, but I still feel the machine should have better built-in vibration reduction, especially considering that LG is the company that showed off a washer operating on 4 glasses a few years ago!

THE DRYER

The dryer is the weaker part in this package. For starters, a full cycle runs for 4 hours (on top of the 1 hour wash), which makes this machine unsuitable for big family laundry days. There is no lint filter, so you'll have to pry things out of the seal afterwards, and one low-temp cycle eats up 1.5kWh (= $0.50), somewhat negating the overall efficiency advantage. And as if all that wasn't enough, I swear I see more wrinkles than before, with my Brooks Brothers "wrinkle free" shirts now coming out in MORE need of ironing than regular shirts!

Now all that said... if you can navigate around those issues (also see TIPS below), the advantage of the combo design begine to shine: all you have to do is drop in the dirties, set the timer, go to work, and come back to a readily washedanddried package! I've gotten used to doing this during the week, and found that I have more clean clothes available than before at any time, therefore donated some, AND gotten rid of my large dirtylaundry container! That was an unexpected triplewin in the space department for me, and worth the tradeoffs.

OPERATION

I find this machine easy enough to use, although there is room for improvement. Basically, you go from left to right: fill in the detergents, pick a cycle (cotton is the default), pick options (extra water, etc), select a dry mode, and press play. What irks me a little is that selections crossinterfere: for example, the machine may override your just-picked spin speed when you select a dry mode. Also, some drying combinations are missing: you can do time (30, 60, 120), dryness (damp, normal, extra), or "low temp", but no other permutations. For my wool pants or dive suits, a delicate wash cycle followed by 30 mins of lowtemp drying would have been perfect, but nope....

One nice feature worth mentioning: you can interrupt the program at any time, change any setting or open the door, and then resume. Even with the Extra Water option selected, nothing will pour out (like I said, frugal).

NOISE

This machine is specifically marketed as quiet, an important feature when you want to sell to urbanites who perhaps plan to sneak it into their apartment (usually forbidden) . And yes, the directdrive motor is a winner: all you get is a gentle hum at normal wash speeds. However, there are two problems (three if you count vibration, above):

The water inlet valves open/close/open/close/etc... up to six times each time water is added, and this triggered buildingwide "water hammer" events in my case. I used to think that this, too, was my building's fault, but I found that many people experience this with LG machines even in new construction. Thankfully, there is a solution to it: socalled "water hammer arresters" like this Sioux model help out a lot.

The pump that gets the water out is loud. That being a vague qualifier, I ended up measuring it (we've all got issues!):washing or drying registers around 60dB, but when the pump comes on, the sound level jumps to 70dB. For comparison, these numbers happen to be the range of human conversation: it's like someone speaking very softly (60 dB), then suddenly borderline shouting (70 dB). This keeps happening during the 4hour dry cycle as well, not just the washing.

TIPS

After a couple months of use, here are a few practical tips I'd like to pass on:

Use powder instead of liquid detergent. You'll be able to do a prewash this way as well as use the timer feature. The softeners is ok in liquid form and won't drip down.

To save on electricity and ease ironing, make sure you pick the fastest spin speed possible, then shorten the dry cycle. For business shirts or synthetics, I'm getting away with as little as 30 min drying time.

To run the dry cycle by itself: select "drain and spin" on the knob, set your dry option, then unselect the spin speed et voilà! you can dry your clothes some more or use Dryel sheets this way.

RECOMMENDATION

One the one hand, this is the best appliance I've ever purchased: spacesaving, efficient, and a heavenly luxury compared to the alternative which is an inconvenient and pricey "wash and fold". If you're in a similar situation, I predict you'll absolutely love this machine for what it does to your routine. On the other hand, there are some considerable flaws, mostly the noise level, slow drying, and the vibration issue. Overall, if you actually have the space for two machines, a separate washer / dryer would be the safer bet.

I actually have the model LG was selling before this one. The only difference is that this new one is 2.7 cu ft, while mine is 2.4.

I've had mine for a year now. We have a small apartment, and saving space is very important for us. We used to have a stackable washer/dryer, that worked fine, but took too much space. Also, out building would not allow us to make a hole in the building wall, so we had to open the window when we used the dryer, and stick the exhaust vent through the window.

When I learned about this lg machine, i was very skeptical. I read reviews that said it did not dry well, took to long to go through the cycle, wrinkled the cloth, vibrated too much, etc. Now after having this machine for a year, I can say I am quite happy. Just do your research and know the limitations of the machine and how to take care of it.

It uses condensation to dry, so do not load it fully, if you want to dry the cloth.

It needs HE detergent. So use HE, and use just a tiny bit less than a table spoon.

Clean the rubber gasket on the bottom remove the lint that assembles there.

If you do these simple things, it will dry cloth very well. So far, after a year of using it, I have not experienced any problems.

Also, if you do not load it fully, setting the dryer to dry for an hour will often be more than enough to dry your cloth. This way you can have your cloth washed and dried in 1.5 hours not too much worse than regular washer/dryer.

Also, for the first 2-3 weeks the mchine would take a long time to balance the load during spin cycle. After a few weeks it setlled and now balances very well.

Overall, if you have space, but regular washer and regular dryer. If space is limited, or you cannot have the dryer vent go through the wall, this machine will work fine.

I purchased my washer/dryer through Amazon over a month ago. After reading reviews, I was a little concerned about the wash/dry times. After using the unit I have found this to be a non issue. It is important to follow the instructions and I do not over load the unit when drying clothes. I have found it easiest to run the wash only cycle first, then remove the items I don't want to dry. I then turn on the dry cycle (you do this by turning on the unit, not selecting a wash cycle, choosing a dry cycle and turning off the spin cycle). The clothes may feel damp when I first remove them, but I find as I'm folding them that they are infact dry.

The unit is very quiet which is great as I live in a very small space.

One item to note is that drying sheets should not be used, as it hampers the sensor when drying.

It is very convenient when washing large loads (such as sheets, etc) to be able to set the wash/dry cycle at once and then remove the items dry. I used to forget items were in the washer and then have to re-wash them before I could move them to the dryer.

I find I have to wipe down the door seal, which collects most of the lint, between each load. I found the water/lint removal on the bottom a little tedious, but since you only have to clean it once a week it isn't too inconvenient. Nice not to have to deal with the dryer lint anymore.

The unit was shipped from Amazon right to my door. The installation was very easy as LG provides step by step instructions. I did have to live chat with LG support to figure out how to run the dry only cycle. They were very helpful.

I've only ordered major appliances on-line twice, once from Home Depot, and once through Amazon.com. The Amazon.com order was executed without a hitch, the Home Depot order not so much. We are still hassling with Home Depot about getting a promised refund and gift card.

This unit installed and operates exactly as advertised. The only caveat is that these units take a while to dry completely, but that's a function of the drying technology used. For me, it was a reasonable trade-off for not having to install a vent.

We got this unit for my 88-year old Dad, who lives alone in a studio apartment 120 miles away from us. We basically just needed to tell him: don't put too many clothes in, turn on the water, put a tablespoon of detergent in this drawer, then press these two buttons. We decided to leave the clothes a little damp to avoid wrinkles, and he hangs the clothes (spaced out a bit in his closet) for final drying.

If you're looking for a simple, small-footprint solution that doesn't require a vent, and are willing to wait, this is the washer/dryer for you!

I have had this machine since 2006 and I don't know what I would do without it.I am so spoiled now.It fits in a closet in my upstairs bathroom, and is light enough for me to move myself.

It can be a pain in the butt since each load takes so long to complete, but for a family of only 2 it is absolutely amazing. I cannot beleive that I no longer have to remember that I have wet cloths in the washer that may *shiver* go mildewed if I forget them. Or I can put a load in and go out visiting or shopping or dinner and come home to freshly cleaned and dried clothes. It will even keep spinning occasionally for several hours on perma-press so things don't wrinkle too badly, after the cycle is done.

One thing I will agree with from the negative reviews, because it spins so hard to get more moisture out the clothes so they actually take less time and heat to dry, things can come out more wrinkled than normal. That is mostly only if you over-fill it.

I love the fact that it needs no vent and since we put this on our main floor that never had a W/D before (I live in a 1970's raised ranch, my main washer/dryer combo is in what I guess you would consider the lower level/basement?)

Considering how old this machine is and what I have put it through, I amazed that it has NOT had to be fixed for any6thing! (knock on wood)

Remember to clean around the round seal of the door and tub of any extra lint or the machine will start to get an odor.

Bosch B22CS50SNS 500 21.7 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy

Bosch B22CS50SNS 500 21.7 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy Star
  • Raise or lower shelves without having to unload them first
  • Spend less with energy-saving economy and vacation modes
  • Extra bright halogen lighting illuminates interior brilliantly so you can find what you need
  • External controls wih LCD display let you manage inside temps without opening the fridge
  • Dual evaporators maintain perfect humidity and protects against odor transfer

I'm vacillating between 3 and 4 stars, but we certainly like our Bosch better than others who have written about it. The first point I'd like to make is that most reviews of larger appliances are really comparisons between what we had and what we just chose.

We moved down from a 25 cu ft GE Profile (counter-depth) that was 15 years old, and the only reason we did was that it was white (and a little noisy) and didn't go with our new kitchen decor. This wasn't exactly my idea, but I got dragged from appliance store to appliance store, and when I saw this one, I gave it my "seal of approval." The handles were less obtrusive than all the rest, and that for a galley kitchen was the clincher.

Pros: We've had it over a week, and time will tell, but so far it's extremely quiet, and it's good looking. It holds all our food because my wife got very efficient and economized the space, and we're only two people. We've measured temps on both sides, and each was right on the mark to the degree, 0° and 39°. It makes ice cubes very well and quickly.

Other things took a few days to get used to, and have gone from "Cons" to "doesn't matter." This includes the poorly designed ice and water dispenser. The water dispenser is well toward the front and for those used to putting a glass to the back of the dispenser compartment, you'll be cleaning the floor as often as we did in the first 3 days. On the other hand, our floor had never been so clean. As for ice, you should place the glass up against the to of the dispenser, push the button, and you won;'t get any shavings on the floor. To be fair, when it came to crushed ice, our GE used to spit out ice on the floor as well.

Cons: The shelf sizes are badly designed. The bottom shelf on the refrigerator door is almost useless. Maybe some sliced cheese and that's about it. I think it's just 2" deep and that's because, with the door closed, it abuts the vegetable compartment.

The refrigerator door has to be completely open to open some of the drawers all the way. The top shelf is okay for large bottles once you toss the completely useless and space consuming wine rack. There is one door shelf that will hold a gallon jug of milk, but right now we're wondering where we're going to put a Thanksgiving turkey. 22 cu ft either ain't what it used to be, or the extra 3 cu ft our GE had was space we never really appreciated.

If you just want a few ice cubes ADDED to a drink, and you don't want to splash water or soda by adding cubes through the dispenser, you have to pull out the ice cube bucket to get to the cubes. On the GE, there was a door that you could open to the ice bucket and just stick your hand in to get a few cubes out. We miss that door. Well, I miss that door. It's always been too high for my wife to see what she's doing. Is this really a "Con?" If you do this more than two or three times a week, yes. If not, then forget about it and move on to the real pros and cons.

We couldn't figure how to stop the alarm from going off and keep the panel lights on, but I suggest that, if you read the manual CAREFULLY, you'll get the answer. You can lock them out or on as the case may be. And so I'll add the manual as a CON. It must have been translated from the German because there are a few things that take some "interpretation" to understand.

The water filter is outrageously expensive ($70 retail, $50 through Amazon companies) and is supposed to be changed every 6 months. Our water is hard, but of good quality, and I won't be changing the filter but once a year if that. This is ridiculous. Our GE filters had to be changed every 6 months and cost $34 for two! I changed those every 8-12 months, and the water tasted fine.

Bosch gives you all of one sample cleaning cloth, and it does a fantastic job. No fingerprints show, but after application, use a T-shirt to clean off the oil residue. And note that the application of any cleaner makes the front of the appliance appear or actually be darker. Still, we will be buying the wipes and even after the two grandkids come to visit, we'll be able to simply wipe off whatever smudges they leave behind. (Our 2.5 year old grandson was born with 12 hands, so we're also looking for a good glass cleaner. P.S. A house cannot be kidproofed against a 2 year old little boy.)

Last, I'll be calling Bosch for an explanation as to whether this is stainless steel or clean steel (google, don't wiki this). A magnet will stick to the doors and that means clean steel. Clean steel will rust if scratched through, and I shouldn't be paying $2,400 for clean steel! IF manufacturers are using the terms interchangeably, then the practice should be stopped. And since our salesman knew the difference. but conveniently couldn't find his magnet, he should be stopped as well. We were assured that this was stainless.

Would we buy this again? Probably. Our favorite brand became LG, but there are people who hate LG. Others hate GE, and other love KitchenAide. We can't buy one of each and see who's wrong. Sometimes I think that reviews even one like this only tend to confuse. And some make you wonder how people could think that a refrigerator-freezer was going to play Beethoven's 5th every time you open the door.

All and all, we're getting happier about the purchase, but there are still some things that would need improvement and absolute correction for us to be "delighted." Let me put it this way: we're not unhappy with the purchase. That's 4 stars max. On a scale of 1-10, it would be a 7.5 or an 8, and those are pretty high marks, but we haven't had any of the problems the other reviewers have had. Maybe buying through "the mail" isn't such a great idea. If anything goes wrong, not only do we have the seller 5 miles away, we have the service center just 20 miles away in San Francisco.

I replaced my 14 year old dead quiet white Maytag with a stainless steel Bosch. It has a nice, sleek look, but problems and more problems. The first Bosch refrigerator was different from the showroom model in Lowes (stay away!).The showroom model did NOT have two large vent holes on the top surface of the unit, and the refrigerator I received did--covered with stainless steel tape. I was told by the deliveryperson to keep on---a real pretty site, right? That was the first thing.Second is the constant-I repeat, constant--and penetrating alarm sound/shrill beep that goes on 15-20 seconds (not one minute) after the door is open, and there is NO way to permanently shut it off.It can drive you CRAZY.Next is when you get water from the dispenser. No matter how careful you are, it leaks and drips onto the surface of the door, then drips AFTER you take away the drinking glass. In addition, the freezer shelves fill with frost VERY quickly. However, I noticed a crack in the interior of this unit, so back it went to Lowe's, and I received the same model as a replacement. Why I just didn't select another/different brand, well, I was naive.I have a space problem and need a counter depth refrigerator.

Anyway, the second Bosch refrigerator arrived, complete with the holes on top and all its other sundry faults I mentioned above. Now, the difference is that this second unit was so noisy, so loud, that I heard the noise from my bedroom, which is quite far away fron the kitchen. The noise was that loud and constant.Let me repeat: constant.I absolutely could not and cannot take it. I could not get a restful night's sleep.Mind you, the first refrigerator was quiet. This second replacement, as loud as can be, and extremely intolerable and unrelenting. Obviously, there was something wrong with it.I called Lowe's and they are picking it up tomorrow, and that is the end of my buying a Bosch refrigerator. I will have my money refunded.I am thinking about an LG.I hear that brand is the quietest.Any suggestions?Bottom line:please stay away, far, far away, from Bosch refrigerators. The absolute worst.Oh, one more thing:I have a Dacor range and microwave. The stainless steel on Dacor appliances seems superior in shine and durability to the much more duller Bosch finish.Don't buy Bosch.Ever.

Update:I finally found a refrigerator--a KitchenAid.See my review of this.

During my shopping process for a whole kitchen full of appliances, I noticed reviews are either penned by haters or lovers. That makes it hard for people trying to balance cost, function and reliability, because no appliance will ever be perfect. I was just now shopping on Amazon for a new filter for our fridge and noticed this product did not get very good reviews, I mean not at all. So I have to chime in and tell everyone this refrigerator is fine!

We've had this fridge installed for 6 months now.Two weeks after we put it in the ice maker went out. I immediately predicted gloom and doom and cited all the negative reviews we'd read here. But the warranty repair company sent someone out immediately. He told me this unit uses the exact same model as most other brands out there (like Jenn-Air, Thermador, Kitchenaid and GE, and all the icemaker units come from same manufacturer in China) and we just got a lemon ice maker and a gear was stripped out, which meant it wouldn't turn out the ice cubes. That whole unit got switched out at no cost, no problem. Since then we have had no issues.

Some pros, as I see them:the lighting inside is good, even being "not LED."Seriously, it's a fridge not an operating room.I really like the shelf that rotates up or down easily.I can do that to make room for something tall below without unloading the shelf. The doors do need to open almost all the way (like almost all side by sides) but the drawers slide in and out very smoothly. It is consistently very cold, and I love being able to adjust the temp on the lower drawer independently. Some weeks it holds meat at a lower temp, sometimes it's just regular stuff that's overflowed into the drawer. Also, we had an "oops" where my young son pulled the milk carton out of the door shelf too fast, and knocked that whole shelf out onto our tile floor. It hit pretty hard, and the silver rim came off, but it did not break or crack.(and the silver rim popped right back on.) Thank you, Bosch, for plastic strong enough to survive young families!

Now for some minor, picky cons:The very bottom refrigerator door shelf is useless. I think I currently have a baggie of pine nuts shoved in there, and that's really all it will hold. And the shelves on the freezer door are a little small too. This is a pretty compact unit! The control panel on the outside really takes some practice. If we ever have to do anything tricky it requires a trip to the manual drawer.I would never, ever use that panel for the timer function.Heaven help you if you set that thing. It's not intuitive. Most people who come to our house and try to use the water/ice function without a warning get their feet wet.The water dispenser is pretty far forward. This is a minor complaint, because you only make that mistake once, but I can see how people keep mentioning it in reviews because it is a little startling at first.I've never met an ice dispenser that behaved all the time, and ours does just what they all do occasionally.Crush when you've asked for cubed, spit a piece out spontaneously, etc.Very rare but it happens.

All in all, I'm really happy with this purchase. For a mid-price, sleek, stainless refrigerator, it's performing exactly as I'd hoped, which is to say that it does its job so well I usually don't even notice.

Want Bosch B22CS50SNS 500 21.7 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy Discount?

I so want to love this refrigerator. It is beautiful and the space inside is incredibly usable...seems like more room than my last full depth refrigerator. We did notice in the first few days that the interior temp was not accurate (different than the display temperature). But, we simply turned down the temp a few degrees. Two weeks later, a very, very loud squeeking/chirping noise started coming from the rear of the refrigerator. We could hear it from outside. We called Sears who were happy to send a repair person or exchange the frige since we had it such a short time.Bosch was not helpful in the slightest.Remarkably, the noise stopped.I really hoped some sort of kink had worked itself out.Today, the repair man came to take a look and apparently the fan blades had fallen off.Apparently, the squeaking was when the fan was in trouble. It quieted when the blades had fallen entirely off.I'm just glad it happened during the 90 day return period.

We went ahead and bought our Bosch appliances after reading several reviews. We had a Bosch dishwasher which was outstanding in terms of how truly quiet it was.But it was at the end of its life and had to be replaced so we wanted to stick to a Bosch dishwasher and my wife insisted that all the appliances had to match in appearance, so we stayed with the brand including the Refrigerator.

As people had pointed out, it was loud after the 1st 24 hours of operation and we were wondering if we had made a mistake.I called that Appliance store and they said that all new high efficiency refrigerators are on the loud side.I took that with a grain of salt. However, after realizing that the temperature setting for the Crisper drawer was much lower than that of the Refrigerator, I bumped it up a bit (i.e. the Refrigerator is at 39, and the Crisper is at 37.)This dramatically brought the noise level highly infrequent and at a much lower level.I'm wondering if the temperature differential in the same side of the refrigerator was making the cooling system compensate frequently and perhaps decreasing the difference fixed the problem.

We're much happier with the purchase in the 3 months we've owned it.As others have noted, it depends on what people are used to but the water dispenser doesn't have a dispense latch that opens the valve.Instead it is activated by the button up in the front, which doesn't bother us, but guests that we have over appear to look for it.

We love the SuperCool feature. There were concerns initially on whether the refrigerator was cooling sufficiently, but as time has gone by, we are used to how the system works. We have not used the SuperCool feature in the last month and the cooling is very consistent with no worries.
