Was excited to have a longer term, eco-minded solution for the replacement filter for a replacement for the LG5231JA2006B.The filter takes a little more prep than the original replacements (soaking), but this isn't really too hard. The filter fits well and seemed to twist into place without a problem. The diameter is smaller, which is the only thing I have any concern over.Have been using the filter just over a month now with no problems.

These filters work well. They are smaller than the original ones in diameter, because it is saving plastic. No difference in the function. Fit is the same no leaking.Good buy , will purchase again.

This is a good product and a cheaper alternative to others. The taste of the waster is good and they last a really long time. In my house we probably use five to six gallons a day from it and it could go past the recommened six months. Only issue I have like many other people is the size. In my LG it fits but is smaller then the holder but it still works.

Green Filter for Whirlpool WF-NL240 NSF Certified Refrigerator Water Filter, ...I bought and installed this in June, and I am now starting to taste a difference in the water from the fridge, so it is time to replace it.I expected it to last at least 6 months, but at the price, it's cheaper than most so I'll take it!It did do a great job at filtering the water while installed, so overall a solid thumbs up.

Maytag 8212652 PuriClean IV Refrigerator Water Filter

Maytag 8212652 PuriClean IV Refrigerator Water Filter
  • THIS WHIRLPOOL 8212652 WATER FILTER REMOVES IMPURITIES AND CHEMICALS SUCH AS BACTERIA AND CHLORINE
  • FROM THE WATER. WATER FILTERS SHOULD BE REPLACED EVERY SIX MONTHS OR IF YOUR WATER HAS A BAD TASTE
  • OR ORDER.
  • Works with the following models: Whirlpool MSD2269KEA00, Whirlpool MSD2269KEB00
  • Whirlpool MSD2269KEW00, Whirlpool MSD2269KEY00, Whirlpool MSD2669KEA01, Whirlpool MSD2669KEB01

I recently purchased the Puriclean IV at Home Depot.

I tested this water filter using a TDS meter which measures total dissolved solids in water.

Results:

Tap Water = 367 PPM (parts per million)

Puriclean IV = 370 PPM

As you can see, the Puriclean IV produced no difference in water quality based on my TDS meter.

This is a very simple filter that uses charcoal to reduce odor. Charcoal does not filter out harmful solids, they just pass right through the filter.

I purchased this water filter for my refrigerator and the product works as advertized and was delivered on time.No complaints on the item itself.

However Amazon fulfills the order via a 3rd party seller and in this case the seller uses my email address to send spam and advertizements. Very annoying. I would understand if my Amazon preferences permitted email marketing, but I had all those options turned off. If Amazon insists on allowing 3rd parties to see email addresses they should enforce a policy which prohibits the 3rd party vendor from using the information for any other purposes other than delivering the exact product which was ordered.

The best part of this filter is the price. You can get this unit in many places but at a hier price. This is good deal for the money.

Instead of receiving the Maytag I received the Whirlpool 4396510 instead. Now, I see elsewhere that this is one of the optional replacements, the company that shipped it to me "Buy-it-now-store," (with a name like that I should have known) should have been very clear that this is what I would get. I don't know how the product differs exactly, but it appears to block the same contaminants as the Maytag 8212652, so I'll just keep it. Although, I could have likely found a better price for that model.

A bit annoyed that the description does not include all brands and models this filter services. It was a guessing game until I actually installed it.

12 Bottle Thermoelectric Wine Cooler

12 Bottle Thermoelectric Wine Cooler
  • Quiet & vibration free thermoelectric cooling system
  • Digital temperature display
  • Compact storage for 12 bottles of wine
  • LED interior lighting
  • 3 chrome plated pull out shelves

After a lot of research I decided on the New Air AW-121E 12 bottle wine cooler. There are a lot of coolers out on the market and most of them have reputations for poor performance. New Air seemed to have the highest ratings so I went with it. The third party seller Air & Water Inc is great. Free ground shipping was a nice touch, shipped very fast. Now for the cooler:

Installation was pretty simple, plug it in and screw on the door handle. The screws on the handle are fine, but the holes are not perfectly designed for them to be screwed in by hand (unless you're really strong) but they went in smoothly with an electric drill. I turned on the cooler and set it to my desired temperature 60 degrees F to keep red wine. Some bottles actually suggest what temperature to store the particular wine at. If you're not sure, just ask at you're local wine shop and they'll be happy to tell you.

It took about two hours for the cooler to get to the temperature I set and I confirmed it with a thermometer (impressive since it started at 85 degrees). The machine itself makes no real noise. If you listen really hard and there are no other sounds in the room you might hear a slight hiss of the fan, but you really have to try to hear it. This thing is quieter then my 20x more expensive regular fridge/freezer. I have yet to find a 750ml bottle of red that does not fit. Some of the fatter bottles stick in the shelf a bit and fit better on the bottom. Since I bought it for red wine its not really a concern, but it probably would not fit champagne both in girth and length of bottle. I haven't tried it, so I can't be sure. You might be able to fit one at the bottom at an angle. The stainless steel looks very nice and the blue LED is a cool feature. Overall if you are looking to store 12 regular sized bottles of red or white, you can't get a better product for the money. Not sure on the longevity, but New-Air seems to have a reputation for lasting a good long while.

Pros:

Excellent price

Easy Set Up

Silent Running

Attractive Look, LED for nice presentation

Great for a Small Wine Collection

Cons:

Will not accomodate super fat or long bottles

Three shelves so the last three bottles just sit on the bottom, I'm fine with this, but it might bother others.

Update

I have had this cooler for about 4 months now and I absolutely love it. So much so that I bought a second one to store my growing collection of white wines. They look very nice next to each other. It took a little longer to get down to the temperature I wanted (51 degrees), about 8 hours which was still impressive as the room was around 80 degrees. Two of these is cheaper then one of those dual zone fridges, and they also work a lot better. They make a little noise (a faint fan sound) the first day when they're cooling down, after that they are still just as silent as before. Also, regular sized 750ml champagne bottles do fit, an added bonus.

Buy 12 Bottle Thermoelectric Wine Cooler Now

I've had this cooler running in a room with an ambient temperature of 68 72F for 24 hours now, and I'm just about to switch it off and return it because of its noise level.

Initially I set it to its lowest temperature setting of 50F, which it reached in about 8 hours with 10 room-temperature bottles in it. Its fan was running continuously for that period, but that wasn't unexpected. I left the cooler at that setting overnight to let it stabilize. In the morning the fan was still running continuously. No problem, as I intended to run the cooler at 54F anyway. When I reset the temperature to 54F the fan switched off for several minutes, but after that it kicked in and out every minute or so. Out of curiosity I reset the temperature to 60F and got the same result the fan switched off for several minutes and the temperature drifted up (quite quickly), but once it reached 60F it cycled on and off repeatedly. It's currently running for about a minute, switching off for about 30 seconds, then switching on again for a minute, in a 72F room with the cooler set to 60F.

Now, if the fan was silent or nearly so then that wouldn't be a problem, but sadly that it isn't the case. Maybe this cooler is faulty, but the fan makes a fairly loud and penetrating buzzing sound when it's running, with the speed spooling up and down as it switches on and off. The noise level is comparable to that from noisy fans on a PC, but because it's a buzz that rises and falls and switches on and off repeatedly it's hard to ignore or get used to, and it's audible from adjacent rooms.

Two other reviewers said that the noise level on their coolers was minimal while another said that the fan was quite noisy, so this might be something that varies from one cooler to the next. I don't think anyone would describe the buzz I'm getting from this one as minimal though.

Anyway, back it goes.

UPDATE

Within an hour or so of contacting Amazon to return this item I received a call from the vendor (Air & Water) to ask if I wanted a refund or a replacement. I talked it over with them for several minutes before deciding on a refund, and shortly after that I received an e-mail with a link to print out a FedEx return label at their cost. So, although the cooler didn't meet my needs I'm very happy with the service from Air & Water.

Been running for quite a few months now.Great wine cooler but to get 4 or 5 stars it will need the following:1.Better spacing of the racks. Some bottles are difficult to get in an out because the shelves are too close together.2. Figure out how to make it a bit quieter. Just a constant hum that is louder than I think a unit designed to be out on a counter should be.

Frigidaire 134101400 TERMINAL BLOCK KIT

Frigidaire 134101400 TERMINAL BLOCK KIT
  • TERMINAL BLOCK KIT USED ON FRIGIDAIRE BRAND CLOTHES DRYERS.
  • Works with the following models: Frigidaire 30-2758-00-03, Frigidaire 30-2758-00-04
  • Frigidaire 30-2758-23-03, Frigidaire 30-2758-23-04, Frigidaire 30-2758-66-03

Did not come pre-assembled as I would have hoped, and was a pain in the ass to assemble. Took several days and several people working on it to put it together because it was not made in such a way that it just popped together.

Recommend buying from somewhere where the block is pre-assembled or at least made to be EASILY assembled.

This item was not an EXACT replacement for the original part, and it did not come with the special square nuts for connecting the wires.I had to modify the dryer cabinet in ordedr to use this new terminal block, and I had to find and purchase the square nuts locally.Other than the extra time necessary to complete my repair job, all went well and the dryer is working again.

Danby Deluxe Mini Fridge with Freezer (4.3cu.ft.)

Danby Deluxe Mini Fridge with FreezerI bought this from another retailer almost 9 years ago! Since then I've broken the freezer door off, but that's the only thing that has gone wrong. Every year or two you'll need to defrost the freezer, which is a pain. But that's not too bad considering the life of the product. The built-in can dispenser in the door is great and partially why I picked this model.

I bought this at Sears when I was in college. I was in college for six years, and I still have this baby in my room! It is an incredible value and it will last you forever! It holds LOTS of stuff and is as high as my bed! I recommend this for ALL dorm rooms and for anyone else in need of a personal fridge. It makes barely a peep and is reliable the entire way!

Buy Danby Deluxe Mini Fridge with Freezer (4.3cu.ft.) Now

I bought this recently for 150 at the dept store with the 'bullseye' logo.I have the grey and black version. So far i'm happy with it as it does get cold enough to make ice in its mini-freezer compartment, and that was when i turned the temp control to the 2/3 setting(not even the max setting!).So make no mistake, it does get cold enough to make ice.If you're looking for a mini-fridge, temporary fridge, second fridge, single-person fridge, then this seems like a great value.I've only had it for a few weeks now, so i'll update my review if anything 'majorly bad' happens in the future(trust me, i'll be upset enough to come back and write a poor follow up if this fridge starts to breakdown in any way).

Finally, the energy guide. The energy guide included with the fridge says it uses 343 of 345kwh, and that its yearly operating costs is $28.That 343/345 is very high, but it says it is measured against other comparable fridges up to 4.4 cubic feet. This is a 4.3 cubic ft mini-fridge, so obviously it would be near the max. Other 4.3/4.4 mini-fridges use about the same amount of energy. And the Danby actually used about the same amount as a 3.3 cubic ft Avanti mini-fridge i was looking at.I don't have a bias towards one brand or the other(this ain't Ford vs Chevy, PS3 vs XBOX 360), simply just letting you know what the energy guide stats are.So compare and shop around before making a decision if this one is right for you.I have it, and think it's a good purchase(one of the biggest mini-fridges with a mini-freezer compartment!) and a good value(one of the cheapest prices for a mini-fridge).

(edit: almost 2 yrs later, still works fine.although i have to defrost a little more than i'd like to.also, you can't fit a large pizza box in this thing.just saying)

I bought this refrigerator for my office 5 years ago.We have a tiny kitchen area and this fits easily under the counter. The freezer holds a couple of mini frozen dinners and is cold enough to make ice.We didn't notice any significant difference in our electric bills, but I didn't actually do the math, for those of you who are sticklers for that sort of thing.

The push-button defrost is nice, however I wouldn't put this refrigerator in a room that young children have access to.That red defrost button is a big temptation. When our office moved, someone's little one pushed that red button.By the time we noticed, the refrigerator was standing in a puddle of water.

Overall, this refrigerator is reliable, easy to clean and I would buy it again.

I bought this attractive little appliance for use in an airplane hangar where the occasional consumption of perishable food and cold drink storage is desirable. This quiet running compact fit the bill perfectly. Some designs in this class of refrigerator are barely capable of holding 2 six-packs of canned beverage. Why bother? This fridge with 4.3 cubic feet of internal space is generous enough to store a reasonable amount of perishable food stuffs. Just don't expect too much utility of the freezer though, as its capacity is quite small. The internal layout of the Danby is well thought out and the vertical beverage stack on the door is a welcomed plus. The upper portion of the door also includes a special clear plastic insert to accomodate up to 9 eggs, but is an easily removed option. You can even change the direction of the door swing by swapping out the reversible hinges. Sized at a reasonable 20" across, the top of my Danby refrigerator perfectly accomodates a small microwave oven and the combination of the two is hard to beat when eating a casual meal miles away from the full sized comforts of the home kitchen!

So my ice acuator broke during a holiday party, probably from a little overuse. I wasn't sure what the problem was at first but after researching and figuring out the problem was a broken piece on the ice acuator I was at ease that I didn't have to replace the motor or anything major. After taking off the cover to the ice and water dispenser I saw that a small plastic piece that was a quarter inch in length was the problem. It had broken off and was not making the proper contact when a cup would be pressed against the acuator to dispense the ice. The fix was a quick 10-15 minutes after I had received my part. Works perfect now.
