We've had this refrigerator for 18 months and our ice/water dispenser are doing the exact same thing as the previous reviewer described.Flapping, flashing lights, buttons don't work...piece of junk!

I like the general design and features of the Ice2O, but after owning one for a little more than a year I would not recommend it to anyone.

The ice dispenser flap started opening and closing in the middle of the night. It woke the whole family up and then we saw that the lights on the front were flashing and none of the buttons would do anything. Now, I understand that stuff happens and things can fail under normal use but we had taken very good care of this appliance and this was clearly a design flaw. I searched online and found that many, many people were having the exact same trouble. When I contacted Maytag and explained the situation they responded (several days later) with an email stating "Based on the information given, it appears your appliance requires service" (Really?), and then "We regret that due to the age of the product, we will be unable to assist with the cost of the repair." The AGE? It's barely over a year old! It was built with defective parts! I was also upset that they responded by email. On their online form they make a point to ask how you would like to be responded to email or telephone. I asked for a phone call.

When I emailed back regarding my disappointment they replied back (again, several days later) with "You are a valued Maytag customer and we appreciate your support of the Maytag brand. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to assist you today." Of course the response was by email after I had again specifically requested a phone call in my response. WTF?

In addition to the Ice2O I also own their top of the line washer and dryer and have purchased several Maytag appliances for rental properties. Not anymore.

Before buying, do a quick search online and you'll find that it's quite common for this same thing to happen. It will happen to you too. Don't purchase this refrigerator, or any Maytag appliance for that matter.

I purchased this refrigerator back in October of 2006 when we remodeled our kitchen.The counter depth works great for us, look awesome too.We have only had one minor issue which was the ice maker would not dispense ice roughly a year after purchasing it.The tech walked in and knew exactly what to adjust.The little flap that pushes the ice out of the forming tray into the ice bin had some play in it and it was getting caught on the ice form.Quick adjustment, all fixed.Since then, no problems whatsoever.I highly recommend this refrigerator.

Do keep in mind that this is a counter depth model.It is smaller inside, and the ice maker does not hold much ice.We always have plenty of ice for our family of four but if we are going to have a party we definitely have to buy more.

I puchased the Maytag Ice2O counter depth a little over a year ago because I had just remodeled my kitchen and needed something not so deep to fit in the spot I had planned for it. It is a very nice fridge and have not had any problems with it so far. The only thing I don't like about it is that the ice maker in the door will make enough ice for 2 1/2 glasses full and that's it. No more ice! Also, if you need a fridge with lots of room, this is not the one to get since it is very limited in what you can put in there. I knew that by getting the counter depth that I would be loosing space but the design could have been better to accomodate more shelving instead of the large bin at the bottom of the fridge that is a hassle to get into quickly.

The item exactly matches with original filter. The original filter is type GWF "Smart Water Plus" for GE refrigerator type PSS26LGRB WW.

It took hardly couple of minutes to replace the filter. We have observed the new filter for the last few weeks and we have not faced any problem so far.

I have 2 GE refrigerators, both under 2 years old.I purchased 2 of these replacement filters...and an HM water meter, to see how good the the filters work.To my extreme surprise, the water filters remove nothing from the water, the contaminent levels are equal with the tap water in each of my two houses!!!I ran gallons of water through the filters and the readings never went down.So I called GE, customer service informed me there was a small chance I could have received 2 defective filters, and I should try to return them to Amazon.I tested the HM water meter on bottled water that is supposed to be very pure, and it was.Arrowhead water is at a "marginally safe tap water" level.My neighbor's reverse osmosis worked well. (I highly recommend everyone get a water meter...especially if you are putting any kind of trust in these GE filters!).

My decision for a compact refrigerator was a double door design. Separate freezer and refrigerator.

I highly recommend this product and this brand (Air Purifiers USA). After ordering the product, I contacted the manufacture (via the email confirmation details), and asked about the color options. White on white vs. Stainless on black. (I read them on the product description page, but was not able to make the selection during checkout). The gentlemen suggested putting the order on hold for 2 hours, he then contacted the warehouse, determined availability, and called me back and I selected Stainless on black. The order arrived in 3 days using regular shipping and the box was very well packaged. In fact, the original packing carton was inserted into a slightly larger carton (with good padding) and the entire packing was first rate.

The refrigerator is a thing of beauty. A full size look in a compact size unit. Stainless front with black box. The top has a convenient molded tray, designed to be used as a 'spill proof' counter top. The topside is large enough to hold coffee maker, cups, etc. and will never scratch.

Time will tell if this unit will perform as expected. My confidence is high and I am a very pleased customer.

I bought a slightly different model 1 year ago. It has worked superbly all the time. So, why do I bother to write the review NOW ? Because of Customer Support. I needed to move the fridge to another location, and re-hung the doors from hinges-on-the-right (the way it came from the factory) to hinges-on-the-left. When I was done, the freezer door was slightly misaligned and did not close properly. I called their 800 number; it is busy much of the time (it is either busy, or a person answers, no waiting), but it was worth retrying. When I got through to a person, HE ACTUALLY WALKED ME THROUGH THE STEPS NEEDED TO FIX THE PROBLEM on the phone; no charge, no hassle (and he spoke flawless American English, as opposed to me). I am so impressed that I felt compelled to write this review. These guys can sell me any of their equipment any time.

After lots of research, I decided to get a fridge with separate freezer and refrigerator components because I read that having a freezer inside the fridge compartment will make either the fridge too cold or too warm depending on how you dial the setting.This fridge got compliments for its looks in my office, and works great!So quiet, I don't notice it's there!The freezer freezes ice cubes and the refrigerator keeps my food cold.The dial was easily set so that the fridge is not warm but not so cold that it freezes the food.I was even impressed that the dial could be set so cold that my food got frozen in the fridge section!

My husband had been wanting his own private beer fridge with a glass front and an internal light for a long time, and after doing a lot of research I decided to go with this particular fridge.Mine came well packed, and without any dents or cosmetic damage from shipping (I ordered it here from amazon).

It really gets cold, and does a good chilling drinks.If you set it to continuous, it can start to freeze your drinks.I didn't realize this at first and I had a bottle of sparkling water explode into a slushy mess inside, but it was easy to clean up.It has 8 settings, the dial has 1 through 7 and continuous, and I find that setting it to a 5 or 6 is good to keep drinks cold but not too cold.The only downsides arethat when it rotates on and off, it can make a little bit of noise, but it's not very loud and I don't really notice it anymore, and the shelves are a little bit flimsy.If you pack it full, the shelves start to bend and sag in the middle.

Other than that though it does a good job storing different sizes.The bottom can hold full sized champagne bottles, and the middle can store glass beer bottles, while the top can store cans.It works perfect for us, since we like to stock all three types.

Overall for the price, it does a good job.We are definitely pleased.My husband loves it!

[edit] The fridge died today 12/1/12, just 11 months after purchase.Currently working on getting it fixed or replaced.

For the most part this product works as expected and has been reliable after several months now. My one complaint it that the wire shelves are flimsy. When loaded up with bottles, they start to bow in the middle and the bottles slide forward and fall off. Works fine as long as shelves are not filled more than about two-thirds with bottles.

Update October 2012. Died after 16 months.

I needed something to fit in the old space where a trash compactor was in my kitchen. It looks very nice and sleek, better than I even expected. I am satisfied with my purchase, but wish it were a bit quieter and kept the drinks a bit colder. That being said, I am now used to it's "hum" and the kids and husband find the temp just fine. It is great for juice boxes, cans or wine bottles... the interior allows for a flexible arrangement. We even have oranges in there now. So overall, 4 stars as a second drinks fridge.

If you want a refrigerator, order one. This is a drink COOLER. It is quite tall so it may sit above the height of most office furniture if you plan to use it as a stand-alone. It is a very good looking unit. The LED lights on the inside don't offer a uniform illumination but do have a pretty blue hue.

The fridge itself will accommodate anything from sodas to full sized champagne bottles, however, you may want to get some additional organizer racks for soda vending as the unit is set upmore like a standard fridge than a vending machine.

The unit is quiet, elegant, and efficient. It does not make ice. Again, if you want something that gets your drinks ice-cold you will have to do without the glass front.

The filter does not stay in place...keeps popping out...seller recommends taking it up the the manufacturer...right...i think i'm screwed...not an item to buy on line.

This filter keeps popping back out and the water leaks all inside the fridge. NEVER had this problem with the Pure Source 2 that we purchase at Lowe's. Appliance Care Store states that we need to contact the makers of our fridge that it needs to make a change for this filter to fit! Fool me once, shame on YOU!!!!

This replaced an old 3 tap Beverage Aire Commercial kegerator I had go out on me. I didn't want to spend $1500.00+ for a new commercial quality one, so I opted for this unit. I'll list the Pros and Cons as I see them.

First the Pros...

1) Has (2) taps.

2) Looks good.

3) Good range of temperatures (approx. 33-40 degrees F.)

4) Uses half the power of my old kegerator.

5) Actually hold (3) home brew kegs (5 gallon).

6) Good quality dual gauge regulator.

7) So far seems to be reliable.

Now the Cons...

1) Co2 tank is too small (2.5 lb). It should come with a 5 lb. tank. (I have a couple of 15 lb. tanks so not a big deal for me)

2) Cheap quality beer lines. (I recommend you replace them w/ 5-6 feet of 3/16" I.D. high quality beer line)

3) Cheap quality gas line.

4) Standard brass faucets. (I replaced w/ my S.S. Perlick forward seal faucets)

5) Black plastic top seems cheap.

6) Drip tray does not fit properly around the beer tower. And it just sits movable, not fixed on top.

7) Casters are too small and don't rotate well.

Of course these are just my opinions and going from a commercial quality kegerator to a residential type, I have lots of nit pick things about it.

All in all, I would recommend this to people who would like a little variety instead of the single tap single beer at a time.

Overall I'm happy with this kegerator.It keeps the beer cold and was easy to setup.I will add a few caveats.First, I'm using homebrew corny kegs so I did not really test or use the tubing or keg fittings that they provide.Maybe I will some day, but that wasn't my intent.Second, the beer tower will not keep the lines cold.This is not unique to this product, but similar for all kegerators in this price range.(Hot air rises)I built a cheap fan to circulate cold air there and things are working great now (just look for cooling keg tower on the internet).Third, for me in particular, it took a lot of trial and error with keg pressures and beer tubing length to get a good poor without it being all foam.So, while I feel the product is good, know that it is probably not as simple is just buying it and it will be perfect from day one...

There were two negatives from this kegerator to call out.First, the CO2 cylinder is only 2.5lbs which won't last very long.I already had a 5lb one, so I can live with it.Second, the taps are not great quality and are prone to being hard to move.My learning shows that this won't happen if purchasing higher quality taps, but it's still usable so that can wait.At least this can be upgraded later.

Unfortunately when I was purchasing this item there were no reviews to warn me.I should have returned when I opened the box and saw all the dents to the exterior of the kegorator.Now I am past the return window.

Within 60 days we had to replace the tubing and gauge.The gauge didn't work and the parts to seal the tubes were cheap and ineffective at sealing.

For the last 60 days there has been an increase in the noise generated by the cooling unit.The cooling unit now sounds as though whole thing is going to fall apart.

Don't think that buying this unit will save you money.In the long run buying any other kegorator is better.It may cost more up front but at least you don't have to dump money into it every couple of months just to keep it working.I previously owned a Haier and wish I had purchased one again.

This Nostalgia Kegorator arrived promptly and seemed to be mostly what I expected, but I ran into a problem when assembling my unit.One of the CO2 connectors did not have any threads tapped into it.It's clearly a manufacturing defect, since the second CO2 connector was threaded and connected OK.I'll gladly change my review from two-stars to five stars if Nostalgia quickly replaces this defective tube assembly ... stay tuned.

Update ... just spoke with a Nostalgia customer service representative who was very cooperative and agreed to send me a replacement CO2 line.It will arrive in ~10 days.I'm changing my rating to 3 stars for now.

im not knowledgeable about kegs at all so i did some research before purchasing this as a christmas gift for my fiance. it seemed like you could get beer in a 5 gal keg but its not the case. the idea was to have a light and dark on tap at all times but with limited availability its just not worth it. the first one came SEVERELY damaged and was sent back. amazon overnighted me a replacement and it had a small ding but i was gonna keep it.... until i found out about the limited availability. sending the second one back and the single tap should be here today, just in time.

My refrigerator water dispenser stopped working and I knew the most likely culprit was going to be the inlet valve.I ordered this valve and while waiting for it to ship I watched a video on youtube showing step by step how to replace these devices.Once I received the inlet valve I had it installed in let than 15 minutes.The inlet valve works flawlessly and I now have water again!I would recommend using this vendor as they were quick in shipping my order and the valve was packaged well so I had no issues with freight damage.I recommend anyone who needs to replace this search youtube for video instructions showing how to replace the valve. It's simple once you understand the trick for disconnecting the water lines.

We bought a Bosch fridge 2 weeks ago after our 9 yr old Maytag fridge stopped working.NEVER buy a side by side Maytag fridge!!NOTHING but trouble 2 weeks after the 1 yr warranty was up.Compressor finally quit after 9 years, lost 100's of dollars in food, paid $100 to fix the fridge every 6 months.

Anyways, purchased a Bosch B26ft fridge w/french doors & water dispenser/ice maker.First of all, it is clean and beautiful in our kitchen.There is a lot of space for various sizes and shapes of food and food container.Maintains constant temperature with little fluctuation.I LOVE the water dispenser and ice maker.We had this in our other fridge, but the ice and water always had a background taste.The bottom mount freezer is fantastic.Very easy to organize items and therefore, you can store much more.

The only possible down side is that the exterior is easily fingerprinted/smudged.Considering the use of a fridge is to keep food stored properly, I am EXTREMELY happy with my purchase.I will update my review after 1 year.

I purchased the Bosch refrigerator when the previous fridge died. It had the fewest on-line complaints and was actually made in the U.S. rather than Mexico. While it's really too soon to actually rate this refrigerator because I only just got it a week ago, here are some things that i've found:

1. The stainless steel isn't actually stainless so fridge magnets will stick.

2. The stainless look is on the doors only, sides are dark brown.

3. The ice maker makes plenty of ice.

4. The water line for the dispenser freezes often so no water comes out. (This doesn't seem to affect the ice maker though.) Don't set the controls below the settings shown in the manual. If your kitchen is cool the fridge temperature may have to be increased.

5. The produce and deli drawers take up a lot of room. So tall bottles aren't able to stand up. Also if you don't purchase mostly produce you'll be surprised at how little room is left over.

6. Both doors must be open to access any of the compartments.

7. The warning beeper sounds for about five (very long) minutes after you shut the door (if you've left it open too long). This is quite annoying.

8. The Sears installers will scratch the doors putting the handles on. (They don't level the fridge either.)

9. Six 12-pack cases of cans fit just right with no wasted space.

10. There is no positive indication that you've pressed any of the buttons and the mode selected is sometimes not clear.

11. It's very quiet.

12. The display shows only the settings. A thermometer(s) will still be needed to know what the inside temperature is.

13. Everything inside is very well lit.

I purchased this from Sears with good discount. I was happy with the cost. It was scheduled for delivery after 20 days. I was nervous investing that much on a refrigerator. But when Sears folks delivered and installed it well, and I was not disappointed.

PROS:

1-Looks, it makes your kitchen a lot more sellable. Ready for HGTV?

2-Inside is roomy

3-Well lit

4-Ice and water outlet is flat and looks very modern. It is touch sensitive, not push sensitive. Just touch onto the buttons, they come off.

5-Water coming out of the dispenser is filtered and has very pleasant taste. Filter is inside the frig easy to access. It is very small, won't take space.

6-Flexible interior adjustment: you can move few thing around, and fit a Heineken keg easily.

7-temperature separated sections: Upper part has 3 temperature separated sections.a-Regular larger section b)vegetables section which keep veggies moist and cooler c) deli section, which keeps meat coolest.

8-Freezer is roomy with one large bottom section, and one drawer to put boxy stuff in orderly manner.

9-External light is pleasantly lit and ambient: yet to find a way to keep it lit nonstop, but blue water-ice outlet light is very nice in dark.

10-The Ice maker does not take the entire inside section of the right door where ice dispense is located outside. It is so well designed that you can still use the inside shelf located in front of the dispenser part of the fridge. most of the other brands use the dedicate that section for ice machine.

11-Best buy for a luxury frig under $2,500.

CONS:

If any..

1Due to nature of french-doors, the doors do not self close, Therefore, you have to give a light push to ensure that the doors close, which outlines the alarm issue many users are complaining about. But, if you close the doors properly, alarm will not sound, period. So, close the doors.:)

2-A bit pricier than average regular frig, but this is not an average frig. This is a Bosch and this model cost twice as much in Europe.

3Stainless steel stains, but this is the nature of the stainless steel. If this is a concern for you, avoid stainless steel fridges.

VERDICT:

This is a Great Fridge with a slight design problem on the ice maker. If your ice maker stop working, the reason for it is not that it broke but rather it just somehow froze in so the moving parts stop moving!

Do the following: physicallyremove the ice maker from the refrigerator for about 1 1/2 hour. It will give it a chance to defrost it. Pour out the remainder of the water from the plastic housing re install the ice-maker as it was and here you go! It will work again! Try this! It will work! It work for me! I had the repair man replace the unit under warranty and after the nonworking unit melted out it worked again! Little inconvenience but it will work and it is free!!!!!!

We have had this fridg for a month now and we love it with the exception of two things:

The ice maker CAN NOT KEEP UP with a weekend full of iced down drinks.The receptable holder is very small and after a morning of cokes and dp's it's empty!And it takes forever to fill up again.A real flaw for a product that costs this much.

Also, the alarm is a bit of a pain. It seems to go off in a hap-hazzard mode.Sometimes it waits the full minute when the door is open to chime.Other times you can just walk into the room and open the door to get out butter and it goes off.I find that annoying actually.

Otherwise, it's definitely state of the art.Lots of room and adjustable shelves and it's very classy looking and would jazz up any kitchen.We didn't need a new fridg, we are just upgrading and we kept our old Amana as well, for the garage.We are going to need the ice from that ice maker, I assure you.But I definitely would recommend buying this product if you really need the "french door" type of fridg to make it work.So much more "high end" than most of the national brands, and much better looking, inside and out.We also purchased their induction cooktop, which we hope we live long enough to have delivered NOT broken.So far we have returned three due to the glass being broken when in shipping!

One of my tracks broke at the front end due to fatigue from the open drawer hanging on it. I discovered that the left and right bracket are the same, so I swapped them. Now the broken part of one track is at the rear where it doesn't matter. A little black ABS cement from your local hardware store will work to glue the broken piece back on (tracks are ABS, not PVC, and white ABS glue cannot be found). I avoided having to buy a new track for the time being and the drawer slides just fine. While researching for a replacement, I found Amazon is the best price I could find.

The vendor did a wonderful job shipping as soon as I ordered. Much faster than another company that claimed the product was in-stock but in fact waited over 8 weeks to get it from a distributor.

These tracks did not fit directly in my refrigerator. They have extra round knobs on each end that get in the way. After I sawed and filed those down, they fit perfectly. Apparently Whirlpool has changed the design of some components and not others. Now the track fits and holds the drawer securely.

the track i recieved looked like the one i had that broke, but i had to shave off a couple of pieces of plastic in order for it to fit.i wish i hadn't had to modify it because i have probably voided any warranty that existed, but i needed to fix the drawer and didn't want to wait to return the product and get another one shipped.once i did my modification it fit just right and my wife is happy.
