My husband and I took our new Portable Fridge from EdgeStar for a test drive. There was a problem before we got out of the driveway.The DC power plug Wouldn't stay in the DC outlet in our Toyota Sieana Minivan. If I held it in, the fridge would go on, let go and in went off.

I called the Customer Service number at CompactAppliance where we purchased it.He informed me the problem was with my CAR, not the plug! When I told him all other DC plugs have worked (Cell charger etc.) he still insisted there is no problem with the DC plug or cord. I asked for a new cord but he said that it was a $45.00 cord and no way would they send that to me for free.He was rude and condescending.I asked to speak to a supervisor or tech support.He refused and said we could just return the unit.I ended up hanging up on him in anger and frustration.I spliced the cord myself and it works.I like the unit but would NOT recommend buying it fromCompactAppliance, if you can help it, because THEY won't help YOU!

I've owned this FP630 unit for three months and have only one issue with it.I like the refrigerator/freezer itself very much, and it has worked well on AC current.However, the 12v connection cable is defective.

I ordered the longer 12v cable and it was defective also.In order to use DC current as your power supply you need to cut off the male plug (that plugs into your 12v power source) and replace it with a 10A, 12v DC plug you can find at Radio Shack for $5.99.

It's a PITA but you have no option per my call to the EdgeStar Factory representative.The problem with the 12v cables is that the male plug on the cable is defective in that its retention springs, that hold the plug into the wall or vehicle socket, are too weak the it will very easily move out of the socket enough to break the connection with the wall power source.And, in a motorhome or vehicle, you have constant vibration which adds to the problem of your connection being unreliable.

If you like the unit just purchase a new male plug, as the EdgeStar factory representative will advise you to do, and replace the male plug that comes on the power cable from EdgeStar.EdgeStar will give you the part number of the plug needed and I can vouch for the fact that this procedure will work.

I changed out both of my 12v power cables, the shorter one and the longer one, and they both work fine with the new replacement male plugs.

All and all, it kept all of the contents frozen, however, there are a few issues that one should be aware of before purchasing.

As stated, the operation of the freezer was great, but the carrying side handles are not durable enough to carry the weight of the freezer and its contents.

Also, if planning to use D/C power in a car for a prolonged period of time, be advised that there is a good possibility the power required to run the freezer will blow the 20 amp fuse in the D/C power adaptor.

Works as advertised but you can't sleep on a camper next to this thing, way to noisy, it goes on forever.

The front right door dos not close properly due to an engineering flaw.Could be easily fixed but whirlpool does not care.They told me quote "That is just the way it is, live with it."Can you imagine! This is after 3 videos of the issue and a dozen phone calls to prove the problem.

Let me explain briefly.

The wing or flap that opens and closes on the left side door, holds the door open 1+ inches if not pressed firmly shut when closing.The inside door sensor reads as if it is shut and the alarm for the open door does not go off and the refrigerator stays open and gets warm inside about once a week if the last person to use does not check closely to make sure the doors are pressed firmly shut.This is BAD!Milk, meat, etc.. Now has half life. It stays open and just touching every day.Nobodies family is going to be taught to always firmly press the refrigerator doors to make sure they are closed tightly.Let's be realistic.

Anyway,

Do not buy this poorly engineered wreck.And do not buy Whirlpool brand because of their HORRIBLE Customer service.

Retro Series Microwave Oven

I bought this with only one review, so I was hesitant to purchase it. There description was is not informative, but I liked the look of the microwave and no other microwave has real great reviews, so I gave it a try.

I like it. It has a great user interface no huge keypad but very well thought out knob and a couple of buttons. Turn the knob left and one can choose the set functions; popcorn, plate, spud, etc. Turn the knob right and choose length of time. Tap the knob and voila, the microwave runs. The buttons on the bottom are for stop/cancel, setting 30 second intervals, power level (1-10) and setting the clock. It has a turntable (which I worried about). All in all I really like this microwave. It looks great on my counter top and works well. What more could one ask for?

I'll write more if it doesn't work for long, but based on the sturdiness of the door and quality of design, I expect it to last.

We loved the look of this microwave and the size is perfect for our needs. However, it didn't work.It would run for a second or two and then shut off.

Neither the manual, nor the website, have troubleshooting information.We tried numerous times to contact the manufacturer's customer service line and could never get anyone to answer the phone.Emails went unanswered.We finally gave up and returned the product for a refund.Such a shame.

Horrible product. I orginially bought it because I thought it would be super cute in my kitchen and thought, "It's just a microwave of course it's going to work". No. Day one we heated a plate of leftovers and the top of the microwave got so hot you couldn't even touch it. After two minutes it automatically shut down completely. We unplugged it, waited a few minutes and plugged it back in...nothing. Day two, we used it to warm my tea up (2 minutes) and it shut down after a minute into it. Then it never worked again. It's being returned back as we speak.

I very much wanted to enjoy this microwave due to its appearance. Looked darling in my kitchen! Alas, it does not function past three minutes. That's right. Try to cook a microwave meal in it for more than three minutes and poof it mysteriously shuts itself off and will not start again for several minutes. Trying to fool it by cooking for 2 minutes, followed by another 2 minutes does not work, either.

Perhaps I just got a lemon (it is red, though) and it shuts itself off because it was poorly made. Not going to take a chance with another one, though. I returned it just in the nick of time and will look for a better brand now.

Love the look of this micro, it looks as cool in person as it does online.It's sturdy, the door closes soundly, and I really liked the ease of the dials.It proves that simple can still be functional.

I did send this microwave back for a refund, though, the day after it arrived.The microwave is EXTREMELY loud, my kid came from the next room to see what the commotion was.It also shook/vibrated so hard that it shook the entire counter, we watched as it shook a small bottle across and off the edge of the counter.

It reminded me of the microwave we had in my parent's house when I was a teen, in the 1980's, with the noise level and the shaking/vibrating.Huge Bummer!

I bought this cooler for several reasons, including:

1.) truly square internal dimensions (i.e. no 'hump' at the bottom for a compressor)

2.) thermoelectric (i.e. no moving parts)

3.) lightweight (i.e. no compressor)

4.) tinted glass

5.) inexpensive

At room temperature (77F), the cooler is able to lower the internal ambient temperature to 55F and the temperature of the wine to 58F. A ~20F differential isn't bad for a 50 watt thermoelectric cooler.

My only complaints/wishes are:

1.) A true thermostat with a digital readout (I currently use an analog thermometer and adjust the rotary temp knob)

2.) Better welds on the rear of the unit (two of the supports broke loose at the welds while moving it around)

Caution to anyone looking for a quality unit that will last for years.I purchased the 28 bottle Edgestar wine cooler just under 2 years ago and was generally pleased with it's functioning and appearance until it simply stopped working last week.The warranty period is only a year, of course, and I have had no success in finding a reasonably priced repair option.This unit has never been moved or handled roughly and there were no casualties of nearby appliances which could be explained by a power surge.Given another similar review, I can only conclude that this is an inferior quality unit that is not manufactured to last.I will never purchase an Edgestar product again.

One burner on my 36" Viking gas range (purchased in 2003) suddenly wouldn't ignite, so rather than call for service, I decided to take it upon myself to figure out what might be wrong, and what part could do the trick. After a bit of digging around, I thought that the best thing would be to start simple, and once I found the part I needed, did a search to find it. It turns out that there are few internet vendors selling this component, and even fewer -like this one -offering fairly-priced shipping. One vendor out there had the audacity to charge just about as much for shipping as the cost of the item, which weighs an ounce or two at best. Here, though, I found a vendor that not only had the part I needed, but charged a nominal amount for shipping. That in itself would seem enough, but this is a fragile part (it is largely ceramic), and it was packed and padded in a much larger box, to insure that it arrived safe and sound. It also arrived very quickly. This is the kind of service that shouldn't go unappreciated, and based on this experience I will surely be coming back, and would recommend all Viking owners willing to DIY to purchase their needed parts from here.

We purchase a Samsung Refirigerator/freezer from Sears. It came with a 1 year warranty. I found out Square Trade was a fraction of the cost Sears charged for extended warranties, so I bought a 5 years extended warranty. As luck would have it, we encountered a problem about 10 months after we bought the unit. It was minor, but 1st, Sears said it wasn't covered, then told us to fix it ourselves. Finally they sent a tech out, who said he didn't have a clue. Afterthe Square Trade warranty kicked in, we called about water in the crisper drawer. The tech they chose came out, fixed the 1st problem Sears didn't have clue about, then replaced a defroster panel. The fix seemed to work for about 2 weeks, then came back. The service tech refused to come back, so we called Square Trade. a different service tech came out, replaced the same panel and made a few modifications. This lasted a week. Again, once paid they did not want to come back. We finally called Samsung and arranged for a factory tech to service the unit. A called to Square Trade ensuered us they would fully cover the repair. The factory tech installed a $2 part that fixed everything. A call to Square Trade and an email with the receipt attached got a check mailed to us in 24 hours for the full amount. You can't do much better than that! I would recommend Square Trade to all my friends. I've placed claims on several items from eBay with good results, even used items. It's a small price to pay for worry free purchases.

I recently noticed a number of holes in the washers door seal.After doing a lot of research I decided to take on the project myself instead of paying for a service call. This was the fix to my problem.The door seal on our washer completely corroded through ending up with a hole in the bottom, thus water leaking everywhere.I ordered this door seal to replace it, and it was the perfect match, and it was shipped quickly!Now I'm waiting for the arrival of a new water inlet valve to stop the water leak that probably caused the first door seal to corrode.:)

Frig arrived as advertised. Keeps things colder than previous ones that we have owned. Door latch is flimsy but works. Our only major complaint is that the fan is very loud. For the cost of the product the shipping charges were 1/3 the price of the unit which is extremely high considering it was a ground shipment

Had this fridge since Dec 2011 and so far I am satisfied. We had a larger fridge before but I wanted one like this because of my back problem. It seems to hold as much as my other one as long as you organize items according to size and frequency of use. Is very accurate for temperature control as I have placed thermometers in both the freezer and refrigerator. I noticed that my vegetables seem to stay fresher which was a pleasant surprise. I do enjoy being able to open the door and see what I want so much easier than bending over to search

in the dark back reaches of shelves. I find that I don't "loose" leftovers so easily only to find them later spoiled because I forgot they were there. The roll out freezer is so easy to use and even though the icemaker uses alot of space, I work around that by not filling the ice tray completely full and putting some items that are securely packed in the ice bin on the front side..no problem. When items are packed in a box from the grocery, I remove the box and use freezer bags to save space. If you buy alot of boxed prepared foods like dinners and such this freezer may not serve your needs. The glass shelves are easily cleaned as well as the outside. It runs fairly quietly except when it makes ice.

The physical appearence was a little different and at first I worried a little bit.

But it did fit perfectly. Plugged it up and hooked up the plastic lines and it worked great. Definitly recommend it.

Upon finding a puddle of water coming from under the fridge and ice down the back of my freezer I defrosted the entire thing and then restocked it.After about two weeks the same thing.This little puppy was the culprit.Well the old one.Threw a new one of these in and everything is great. (My shizzle once again sizzles)Turns out the old ones can develop a slow leak that eventually ices up the ice maker water intake and inadvertently overflows down the back of the freezer and out the back of the fridge where with water line goes to the ice maker.

The water valve for the ice maker in my 1994 GE Profile refrigerator started to leak water so I did some searching for a replacement part.With my refrigerator being so old, I wasn't sure if this was the right part, but it works just fine.I did have to clip some of the white plastic guard from the water inlet side, but the install was easy and I have ice again... with no leaks.The price I paid on Amazon was also half the price of the other valves I found online.Shipped from Amazon with no issues.

I couldn't find any reviews on this particular item from Cuisinart, so it looks like I may be the first. There appeared to be a lot of dissatisfaction with their 8-space single temperature unit, so I opted to spend more to get extra bottle space and go for the dual zone. I've had it for three weeks now and it's perfect for my needs and is working beautifully. I drink mostly cabernets and sav blancs, so those bottle styles fit without scraping. I have a chardonnay bottle that I had to turn around and place head first so the bottom of the bottle is what's showing, but at least it works. It is quiet if you lean in closely, you can hear a soft whirring fan, but otherwise, quiet as a mouse. It is placed on a countertop of a built-in unit in my small condo living room, so it's in a pretty open space and has room to breathe. There is a drip-tray that slides in the bottom and I've checked for water and haven't seen any. It chilled quickly I have the white zone set to 40 and the red zone set to 63 and am very happy with the temperature feel of the bottles and the wine when I remove and serve. It looks really cool at night with the lights on, but I mostly keep them off. Lastly, I do use a Vacu-Vin cork sometimes and have found that I'm able to re-seal a bottle, place in the unit and close the door. (The Vacu-Vin cork adds length to the bottle, but the glass in the doors is mounted so that there's room.) If I come up with anything else, I'll update this review, but I have to say I'm happy with my purchase and having fun keeping it stocked!

Our first purchase of this wine cellar and it didnt even turn on, returned no problems with Amazon. Second try and it works, it looks great but thats about the best of it.

It depends on the outside temperature, so in winter the red wine is not warm enough and in summer the white wine is not cold enough. We'd say if you really like your wine at the right temperature just spend the money and get a proper one.

After just 3 months of use, one side of the unit stopped working.After talking to Cuisinart they said they would replace the unit but we would have to pay to ship the old unit back and to ship the new unit to us.This makes ordering online less and less appealing.

The LED in the unit are very bright and the dual zone works really well.

This is a nice size wine cooler. The dual temp is awesome! The only complaints are that they racks are not adjustable and it can be slightly noisy. Now that being said we have it in our formal dinning room and you only hear it when you walk by it so the noise is not a factor. Overall we are very pleased with the fridge and its functionality.

We replaced our five year old Kenmore washer and dryer with the Maytag Centennial Series washer and dryer.Uncertain at first if I would like the "high efficiency" washer, but I am 100% pleased with my decision.Although the washer makes somewhat of a grinding sound (instead of the agitation sound which we are all so accustomed to over the years), I feel our clothes are clean and I must admit we do feel we will save water and money over the years.There are only two of us, so I might have looked at a larger capacity washer and dryer if our children were still at home, but this Maytag combo does the job very well for us.I suggest any senior citizen give it a try!

We purchased the Maytag Centennial washing machine, and it's a piece of junk. It does NOT get the clothes clean. The water goes in the machine, and the clothes simply soak in the water then it spins out.

I have not had one clean batch of laundry since the day that garbage was delivered here. Maytag made all kinds of claims -it would wash large loads, bulky loads, small loads, you name it. It can't even get a small load clean. Yes, we most certainly are using the Tide pods as recommended. I put four of those things in the machine with the last laundry load and the laundry still didn't get clean.

Don't be fooled by Maytag's past good reputation. Their washers are junk now. This has been an expensive lesson learned for us. They won't ever get another cent from us and this junk of theirs is going to the dump.

Better yet, I should sue for return of my money and make them come get this junk out of my house at their expense.
