All three replacement filters from FiltersFast exhibit issues.Poor water flow and squeal from inside the fridge.Replaced new filter with old one and all is fine.New filters are different on the insert old ones had one large hole with multiple tiny holes around it.New ones have one large hole and two slotted holes on each side.All three new ones are lousy.Takes 45-60 seconds to fill a standard 8oz glass.Not acceptable.Called GE directly who said no change has been made to product line.Bought two more in town, one from Sears, another from HH Gregg.Both have the same design as the new ones from FiltersFast and are also lousy.I have resorted to using the filter plug in order to have decent water flow.The filter design has obviously changed and either GE is not admitting to it or their representatives are ignorant to the change.
I hate my fridge now and currently using a Brita pitcher filter on the counter top.Neither Filtersfast, Sears or HH Gregg will accept a return.I'm now a proud owner of six new filters, over $200 in cost, that won't work worth a flip.Oh, and those of you who want to repeat what GE told me over the phone yes, both the old filter with the tiny holes and the bypass plug work fine.There is NO clog in the water line.It's the lousy new filters that GE is pushing to all the vendors.

I live in the Tucson, AZ area and our water is very hard. I test my water regularly out of the tap and it shows 240. I test the water out of my R/O system and it tests at 22. The water coming out of my ref with the GE filter which comes from the R/0 system is 20. I have the cleanest water in our neighborhood. The only issue I had was the GE filter took a couple of months to get back to "normal" testing range. When I fist installed it, the water tested at 40. Now that it's back to "normal" I'm pleased. Also the install was easy reading the simple directions took longer that the install. You just twist off the old one and twist on the new one and then run about 5 gallons through the system.Want GE MSWF Refrigerator Water Filter, 1 Pack Discount?
I purchased this filter and you can see a very poor job where the filter appears to have been remanufactured.I have purchased several of these filters at Lowes and none were like this on.It has been cut at the top and even has plastic splinters remaining where it was seamed back together.The filter rattles as well.No more for me and I will pay a little extra and purchase from Lowes or Home depot from now on. It might work OK but I did not want a used cartridge and there was nothing in the description describing it as such.Save 25% Off
After replacing the MSWF water filter (2 different filters), the water dispenser is now really slow. It also makes a squealing sound. I have no idea if this is a refurb part or not. I will try and purchase a filter from Home Depot or Lowe's and see if that works.

I highly recommend this product and this brand (Air Purifiers USA). After ordering the product, I contacted the manufacture (via the email confirmation details), and asked about the color options. White on white vs. Stainless on black. (I read them on the product description page, but was not able to make the selection during checkout). The gentlemen suggested putting the order on hold for 2 hours, he then contacted the warehouse, determined availability, and called me back and I selected Stainless on black. The order arrived in 3 days using regular shipping and the box was very well packaged. In fact, the original packing carton was inserted into a slightly larger carton (with good padding) and the entire packing was first rate.
The refrigerator is a thing of beauty. A full size look in a compact size unit. Stainless front with black box. The top has a convenient molded tray, designed to be used as a 'spill proof' counter top. The topside is large enough to hold coffee maker, cups, etc. and will never scratch.
Time will tell if this unit will perform as expected. My confidence is high and I am a very pleased customer.
I bought a slightly different model 1 year ago. It has worked superbly all the time. So, why do I bother to write the review NOW ? Because of Customer Support. I needed to move the fridge to another location, and re-hung the doors from hinges-on-the-right (the way it came from the factory) to hinges-on-the-left. When I was done, the freezer door was slightly misaligned and did not close properly. I called their 800 number; it is busy much of the time (it is either busy, or a person answers, no waiting), but it was worth retrying. When I got through to a person, HE ACTUALLY WALKED ME THROUGH THE STEPS NEEDED TO FIX THE PROBLEM on the phone; no charge, no hassle (and he spoke flawless American English, as opposed to me). I am so impressed that I felt compelled to write this review. These guys can sell me any of their equipment any time.

After lots of research, I decided to get a fridge with separate freezer and refrigerator components because I read that having a freezer inside the fridge compartment will make either the fridge too cold or too warm depending on how you dial the setting.This fridge got compliments for its looks in my office, and works great!So quiet, I don't notice it's there!The freezer freezes ice cubes and the refrigerator keeps my food cold.The dial was easily set so that the fridge is not warm but not so cold that it freezes the food.I was even impressed that the dial could be set so cold that my food got frozen in the fridge section!pros-stainless steel front

I went with the positive reviews, ordered the fridge,and hoped that the seller had read the negative reviews that had criticized the packaging of the fridge.Delighted to see that it was extremely well packaged with heavy crating protection.Fridge is perfect in every way, my last fridge died because of the freezer leaking, so I love the extra space.Great for white wine/beer/and it fits beautifully into the basement alcove.I picked black and honestly really glad I did, because you can't even see it in the alcove.It runs quietly (I even opened the fridge several times because it was so quiet I wanted to make sure it was running!) so both thumbs up on this fridge.
Please see the photos I uploaded for details on a pretty straightforward kegerator conversion. My conversion is geared to homebrewing. 5 gallon batches to two 5 gallon corny kegs. Other commercial kegs should fit( 2 x sixth barrel,1 x quarter barrel ,1 x slim quarter barrel , 1 x half barrel). Check your own dimensions on this.

Phillips head screw driver to remove door screws
2 1/8" Hole Saw bit to drill the opening on top of the fridge for your draft towerdrill slowly )
Weatherproof metal tape to seal exposed insulation
Cheap cutting board or other rigid material to anchor tower (optional)
Utility knife to cut dry erase or other material used to replace inner door moulding.
For your beer:

This is a great mini fridge. I was attracted to it for not having a freezer compartment of any sort.I agree with another reviewer, a freezer compartment on this size refrigerator is a nuisance, and only in the way. We use this for beverages and cold snacks in our family/entertainment kitchenette.I have some minor damage on mine upon receipt .The lower door bracket was bent.I fixed that myself.There is a ding in the right side of the unit, that resembles a BB shot mark, but again, it will be hidden.And the plastic cover over the top hinge bracket is dinged, but not worth sending the unit back to have fixed.I believe the packaging could be better.It seems to have at least two (2) of the three (3) dings having been caused in transit.The BB mark seems to have been there before packaging.I could hear my lower shelf flopping around before I opened the carton.There was no apparent damage from this.. I feel the packaging could be better.
I allowed the fridge to sit upright for over two (2) hour before I turned on the control.It buzzed right up, and reached temperature quite quickly.The unit is very quiet, especially tucked into my kitchen cabinetry as it is.
The inner storage options are nice, if not a bit unique.I haven't put much in it yet, but soon I will.It looks like it will hold a considerable amount of beverages and cold snacks, and still leave some room for slipping in a small cold dish a guest might bring to a get-together.
I only wish it was not made in China, but in the U.S.I think all these size fridges are made overseas.
