I am a serious home French pastry chef. Five years ago I bought the then-current version of this stove. My main interest was the convection oven. Indeed, this oven is extremely good in even baking. There were many other features I liked, although I found the controls a bit confusing. For guests and first timers, the controls can be VERY confusing. I would still have given it 5 stars.

I bought this new version for a different home. There is one change that I find so annoying that I downgraded this new model in my view to 4 stars. This is the temperature readout for the main oven.

On most digital readouts, including the earlier version of this stove, you start by setting the target temperature. Then as the oven heats up, it shows the actual temp. This gives you an idea of how much longer you need to wait. If you are cooking something at a non-critical 350 degrees, you might just put it in at 325. Similarly, if you open the oven, say to turn a tray, you know exactly how much the temp has dropped. Not with this new version.

You set the target temp, then wait for a long beep to tell you the oven has reached the

target temp. There is no way to tell the current temp. While heating up, some lights flash in an incomprehensible sequence. Neither the manual nor Fridigaire customer support could explain what those lights mean. Even with a totally manual oven (like the small side oven here), you can get an idea of current temp by rotating the knob and listening for the thermostat click.

Another downgrade was the minimum temp setting on the old oven was 100 degrees, a sometimes useful setting in baking. The minimum on this oven is 150.

I wrote to Frigidaire, an actual letter to the director of marketing with the comments above. He never replied.

Bought this range when we remodeled the kitchen.I would rather have had a gas model, but there is no gas available here. This range with the convection oven get five stars from me.Bakesperfectly in both ovens. The smaller oven is great for a single loaf of bread or broiled steaks for two.The larger oven with its convection feature is fabulous for pizza, bread, large roasts and will accomodate huge pans.the stove top with the five burners is most useful. The left side of the cooktop can be used with a full size griddle since the normal space betweent eh burners can be activated as a heat unit. The warmer burner is great for melting chocolate, butter, or just keeping food warm.I'd buy ths again in a heartbeat.

I am remodeling my kitchen and replaced a 1950's dual oven drop in form Frigidaire. It was a really nice oven/range from the 50's and we always received compliments on it since it was very unique. It also was 40 inch.So we looked for another 40 inch range to replace it and this was fit the bill. I wanted to go with Gas cooking on top and the electric convection oven below. So far it is a great buy. This range is very classy looking and works a good as the more expensive other brands that cost 3 to 4 times more.

Haier HNSE045VS Refrigerator/Freezer, Cabinet/Vcm Door, 4.5-Feet cubic

Haier HNSE045VS Refrigerator/Freezer, Cabinet/Vcm Door, 4.5-Feet cubic
  • Half-width freezer compartment
  • Dispense-a-can storage bins
  • 3 full-width glass shelves
  • Accommodates 2-liter and tall bottles
  • 2 full-width door shelves

I am quite happy with this little refrigerator. It is even roomier inside than I thought it would be. The freezer section is very small though, but I guess that is to be expected. I bought it for my daughter and she likes it a lot.The unit is attractive and I don't know if it was a mistake, but it had a stainless steel front (which we are happy about).

If you are looking for a small fridge for a dorm room or for under the bar this is a nice little refrigerator.

I love to cook, American, Many Asian cuisines, Cajun and Creole. I have a lot of little jars and mixes, plus we love pickles, olives, jams and jellies. These items totally eat refrigerator space, get lost in the back of the big fridge, and are annoying to keep track of. The Haier 4.5 cubic foot fridge is the answer to the condiment queen's prayers. It easily holds the pickles, jams, jellies, kimchee, sauerkraut, jars and cans of oddments, with room for soda and water.

The shelves are adjustable. There is a white tray that comes with it and fits under the freezer, you'll see in the pictures I just pulled that out, and the teeny tiny oh-so-cute ice tray went too, leaving me room to freeze some ice cream sandwiches or a frozen meal.

The footprint of this fridge is small, it would make a great dorm fridge. My son has the smaller 4.0 white version in his room and he and his brother store all their coke, water, sprite, root beer, etc.

The only quibble I have with this fridge is the listing says black, the front is a stainless steel look. For our needs it actually works better, but if someone really wants black this would be a negative.

Awesome fridge. Not too heavy for its size, I could haul it upstairs to my home theater without too much effort.Very quiet, and it definitely keeps things cold. The only (slight) issue I had was playing around with the shelving inside to make some stuff fit.But that's not a reflection on the fridge.Overall, great product and I highly recommend it as a secondary fridge.

Keeps beverages ice cold! Quiet running. We have it in our game room and it works perfectly! Our last Haier was going strong for 12 years till I put an ice pick thru the freezer and had to replace it.

Refrigrator Automatic Ice Maker Kit

Refrigrator Automatic Ice Maker KitIf you buy this part, make sure you give it 24 hours to work. I was expecting it to start working right away as soon as I installed it. I was very frustrated when I didn't see the dial start to spin when installed. I actually took the part out and sent it back thinking it was defective. Well it turns out the part has an internal thermostat that has to get cold to the right temperature in order to kick the icemaker on. They failed to leave out this very important bit of information. The common lay person would never know this. So don't send it back, give it 24hrs to work!

When installing this replacement icemaker be sure to use a small level. If the icemaker is not level the water will overflow and make a mess.Yes I made the mistake so you wont!!The on/off arm is smaller and shaped differently than shown in the picture so I used the old on/off arm. The kit came with several different wire harnesses(4)and two tubes.I didn't need to replace the water tube. All in all this was easy to install and the best price that I found. The manufacture name on the box is Supco (Sealed Unit Parts Co. Inc.).Part name on box is RIM500 Modular icemaker service kit. Replaces: Whirpool 4317943, 978556, Maytag and subzero.

DO NOT buy this item, as the unit you will recieve is not the same as the one pictured, or described. Unit came without shutoff arm, wiring harnesses, installation hardware or instrcutions. Called seller to inquire and was told amazon made a mistake and has the wrong picture displayed. According to the CSR, this has happened to several other people as well. But guess what, for a mere extra $20 they offered to sell me one that looks just like the picture. This is an absolute bait and switch, false advertising, etc...Seller also would not authorize a return or refund. Buy at your own risk! Part number that arrived is W10190965, mfr is FSP. Again, not what was listed in the description....

The product was exactly what we needed. There was one little part missing, but we had it on our original unit.It is perfect for a replacement and about half price of a parts store. The parts guy actually told me how to check for it online.Glad I did!

This is a very good replacement for the ice maker on my Whirlpool fridge. It's not an exact replacement, but it's definitely comparable. To me, "very good" means I didn't have to hack around to make it fit or function. The quality is just OK though.

___________________

Pros:

* Makes ice!

* Pretty simple to install

* Plastic ice tray instead of the plastic coated metal tray of the OEM.(Plastic coating peeled off and corroded the metal tray and made weird ice. It's a good thing I'm done making babies, because it shed some pretty funky stuff into the ice!)

* Good assortment of wiring harnesses and hardware included.

___________________

Cons:

* The instructions were pretty slim and didn't even really apply to this model.

* Not as well constructed as the original unit.Definitely more flimsy.

* Makes ice pretty slowly. Our old ice maker would fill the bin in a day--even under daily use. This one hasn't filled it yet!

* Drops the cubes straight down and doesn't hit the bin every time.

I've had this fridge for about two weeks now and it's been really great. I bought it for my office and mostly to prevent me from eating out, so I had a few criteria. First, it had to be fairly small footprint, but large enough to store a good amount of real food, such as leftovers, some fruit & veg, and materials to make snacks with such as PB&J. Second, it had to have a real compressor, one that will cool well below the ambient temperature as the office building gets quite warm in the summer and I really hate when food goes bad. Third, I didn't want the unit to give up a bunch of space to a can delivery system, since I don't drink usually have canned drinks around. So, that's how I ended up at the SPT, it's the only one I found that fits all these criteria. I'd never heard of SPT before buying this fridge and quite honestly, if it had the same features as all the other fridges I'd seen (researched for two weeks), I probably wouldn't have bought it. However, given that it had everything I was looking for, I decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did.

First, the aesthetics; it's a vertical rectangular shape, modestly attractive looking, basically it looks like a small black fridge with a stainless door. I was a bit surprised at the size, it's quite a bit taller than I was expecting and the black does makes it look a little monolithic. The unit actually looks bigger than it really is, I was shocked to find that it fits nicely under my desk. The Stainless Steel finish on the door isn't quite as polished as the vastly more expensive full-size GE fridge I've got at home, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it looked, especially considering the price! This unit is solidly built and is surprisingly lightweight, which was great for moving it around the first day, figuring out where it should go. The door, as shipped, opens on the left, but it looked like a fairly simple job to switch sides (haven't needed to) and SPT included extra plastic inserts for covering up the holes should this be required, a nice touch. Door was protected with plastic film and all three shelves and the ice maker were taped down to prevent them sliding around.

On to functionality; the fridge works! It got the four iced teas I put in it ice cold within only a few hours of being plugged in and I've got the unit set at 4, the factory preset median setting and it works great. Stuff down low in the fridge was kept nicely cold, the ham I put up near the icemaker had frost in the package, but the meat wasn't frozen. Note to self, meat goes lower in the fridge. The lower door shelf holds four Honest Tea bottles, but the wire holder swings out to hold bigger items. The top door shelf is a little shorter and has a fixed bar, so PB & J go up there. Inside shelves are made of white plastic-coated wire and well spaced. The freezer holds at least a trio of standard sized juice boxes; it's wide, but not very tall, so low items work best. One other extremely cool thing is, the energy consumption rating for this fridge is actually below the lowest range on the chart. This makes it extremely efficient, which isn't a factor for me, but I can see this being a plus for someone being challenged about its power consumption. Given how well it keeps my food cold, it must be very well insulated to achieve such low consumption.

Things of note:

1) This unit only has one leveling foot, at the front right corner. This is probably not a problem for most people, but my office floor is as flat as a Ruffles potato chip, so levelling the fridge required shims under the front left foot.

2) Power cord is only about 5Ft long, once again, not a problem in most offices, but I would really have liked a longer one. Extension cord to the rescue.

3) Unit isn't silent, but it's not loud either. Some people have complained about other fridges being loud, I don't find this one to be unpleasant, it's like low-level white noise in the background. If I get in early, I can hear the fridge, but once the office wakes up, it's inaudible.

4) Unit came very well packed in an enormous box, strapped and taped closed. I was impressed, but I did have to lie the fridge on its side to get it out of the box.

5) This hasn't been a problem, but the manual says that should the fridge lose power, it won't come back on automatically.

This turned out to be the perfect refrigerator and I'll try to answer some questions about posted concerns.

Noise when you first turn on the fridge and perhaps the first 24 hours, the refrigerator will cycle quite a bit and the compressor will make interesting noises. not bad, just different. once the refrigerator has had it's break in period, the compressor only turns on every 30 minutes or so for a very short time I don't notice it anymore and the compressor is not loud at all.

How soon after the item is turned on that you can place things inside within two hours the refrigerator will be cold however, placing warm items in there will require additional times for the refrigerator's temperature to level out it's been that way ever since they have been making refrigerators.

The stainless on the door is beautiful and we are delighted that we spent the extra money it looks great in our office see video.

Finally, it's by far the best unit for the money and we have no complaints.

The video will provide an idea about how much can be stored inside we have removed one of the shelves to leave more room for bottles and cans.

I bought this fridge a couple weeks ago and it looks nice in person, came very nicely packaged with no effort needed to put it together. The inside smelled a bit at first of plastic but I left the door open for a couple days and the smell went away. After I plugged it in, it got very cold after just a couple hours and keeps cold well.My biggest complaint is the noise. For the most part, it's quiet in the maintenance mode but when it is turning on to cool itself, it makes loud clanking sounds that I can hear from my second floor and I have the unit on the first floor.I researched other fridges and seems like noise is always an issue so I guess this is a decent fridge if you can put up with the noise.

Bought the first one but was DOA.Amazon quickly sent out another one before we shipped the defective one back (Great service Amazon!!!).Unfortunately, the compressor in this unit is very noisy (it is for a wet bar in our AV room). We have placed Styrofoam on the floor and placed this atop the Styrofoam. The noise lessened considerably but still quite present.I may try to find a way of mounting the compressor on some rubber standoffs if I cannot find a better solution.

I bought this to put under my desk at the office. It fits perfectly and cannot be seen by others. What I love the most is what I don't have... noise.Unlike my last minifridge the unit operates very quietly and keeps items appropriately cool.I was surprised to find that the freezer compartment actually keeps items frozen.

Vinotemp VT-45 Dual-Zone 45-Bottle Front-Venting Wine Chiller, Stainless Steel

Vinotemp VT-45 Dual-Zone 45-Bottle Front-Venting Wine Chiller, Stainless Steel
  • Freestanding 45-bottle wine chiller with sliding wood shelves
  • Front-venting design allows for building in under a counter
  • Dual-zones for red and white wines; 2 separate controls
  • Thermal-glass door can be locked; digital display; interior light
  • Measures 23 by 24 by 34-1/2 inches; 1-year limited warranty

We paid for and expected a high-end dual zone wine refrigerator. That's what we thought we had when I installed it.The appearance is indeed nice. However, there are two problems.1) Spacing is tight between the drawers. Some common size wine bottles cause the drawers to hang up.And, the tops of the bottles on the lower rack get hooked on the lower drawer, so opening the lower drawer pulls them out onto the floor.2)After giving the unit two weeks to stabilize, we found that the red wine and white wine zones can't reach their warmer and cooler settings unless the settings are only a few degrees apart. There is an opening between the compartments.Cold from the white wine section (they set it up so the cooler temp rack is on top) spills to the lower section making the reds way to cold (or the whites to warm, if you change adjustment ranges). With the red zone set to 65 and the white zone to 45, the actual stabilized temperatures indicated on the read outs are 53 and 48.That's not much better than having all the wines in one refrigerator.

Buy Vinotemp VT-45 Dual-Zone 45-Bottle Front-Venting Wine Chiller, Stainless Steel Now

I concur with the previous review can't fit any slightly non-standard wine bottle, catches on other drawers, but most temperature.Somebody was not thinking when the put the hot under the cold and the cold above the hot.First can't meet the temperature you want, but completely illogical and wasteful of electricity.Unfortunately looking difficult to return as we ordered in Nov, but did not actually get installed until Feb.

And Vinotemp's customer service is absolutely non-existent, not returning any emails.Hence this review. Will probably think about reporting to those who give out "EnergyStar" awards.Suggest another category, "EnergyHogs" ok I'm an electrical/physics type and so the above infuriates me as this type of engineering is plain bad!!

So how do I really feel?

I purchased this product for installation under a coffee / wine bar in our lake home. It is a very nice looking unit, but I cannot recommend purchase.

First, this box lasted only 3 years, and then simply quit. I took it into a qualified repair shop who diagnosed the problem as being a defective control board. Read a little on the web about Vinotemp, and you will see I am not alone with this problem. The part is advertised on their website for $47, plus $10 shipping, but no parts are available I have been out of commission since the end of August, and today's new forecast for parts availability is "3-4 more weeks." My repair man and I have both been in contact with Vinotemp, but nothing specific can be said when I will have my replacement part and my unit back to duty.

When it did work, temperature fluctuations ran 5 degrees or so over or under the desired setting. This may bother some people, but for me and the "mid-range" wine I stock, no big deal.

Far more disappointing is the seeming poor product quality, and the proven poor quality parts support.

To do over, I would buy a free-standing (versus built in, which is front venting) unit, as there are many on the market at far more attractive price points.

I'd recommend getting a different brand name.

We have had this wine cellar installed for 2 months now and have been impressed with its performance. The temperature control works great on the unit we have and chills and keeps its temperature gradient as programmed. As would be expected, temperature is much more stable as the quantity of bottles increases in the fridge. The only complaint is the spacing between the shelves. The proximity of the draws on top of one another does not allow any larger than normal diameter bottles to fit without interfering with other shelves.I should mention that the display shelf will only accommodate bottles that are slightly shorter but not to much wider than average.Of 12 different bottles we tried, only one fit, while still allowing the shelf directly above to open.

Overall, great fridge, it looks fantastic and keeps our wine stored at the proper temperature.

This cellar is a great size and with the stainless steel front and wood at the front of the shelves, it looks great built in to my pantry. Obtained this cooler about a year ago and it looks great. As to the other reviews complaining about the cellar design being poor with the colder section for whites on the top and reds on the bottom, I think they're misthinking. Although you can't have a HUGE temperature span between the two sections, I don't find that I want that for storing my wines and I assume it was designed this way because it takes less energy to keep a small compartment cold than a large compartment. Sort of like having the little freezer at the top of your refrigerator maybe? It definitely has been maintaining my desired temperatures properly. Anyway, I think the display shelves are handy and this Vinotemp looks great! Definitely wasn't disappointed and don't think you will be either.

SquareTrade 4-Year Appliance Protection Plan ($125-150)

SquareTrade 4-Year Appliance Protection PlanI just purchased a refurbished mini-oven on Amazon..This warranty was linked at the bottom of the ad for the oven.I clicked on this ad and there was no mention of new or refurbished on the ad, so I bought it, received my product and went to register it by serial number and I noticed that my item was listed as "new".I called Squartrade and they told me that the Amazon warranty will not cover refurb products and were rude on the phone. So, in summary even though there was no exclusion on this ad, Squartrade will not honor this warranty. They didn't offer a decent discount on the much higher price warranty from their site. The unfriendly Squartrade rep was not a bonus.

I'm hoping Amazon will update the item description that this warranty will not cover a refurb so others don't waste their time.If I hadn't called, I wouldn't have known.

Great customer service. Fast turnaround time. I had a cuisinart coffee maker that I had a warranty on. After a year and a half the heating element went out. I contacted Square Trade they emailed me a paper to sign & within 72 hours I had the money to replace my coffee maker.
