New Green Air Pro Air Purifier, Ozone Generator, Alpine Cleaner

New Green Air Pro Air Purifier, Ozone Generator, Alpine Cleaner
  • Coverage up to 3500 sq.ft.
  • Dual UV-C Lamp System
  • Hospital Grade HEPA Filter
  • Large Backlit LCD Display
  • Timer to set Start and Shut-off times

This is a great air purifier. I've been using this for a few months and I'm very impressed by the build quality and functions. I only use the Sterilize (UV Light) function regularly, which outputs very little ozone. I only use the Ozone feature whenever I need to get rid of strong cooking odors that normally take a day or two to get rid of. Too much ozone can be damaging to furniture, plastic, ect (learned the hard way) so I limit its use as much as possible.

Also, I replaced the Pre-Filter that came with the unit with an Activated Carbon filter and it makes a huge difference removing odors in the air. The case/holder for the black pre-filter comes apart by releasing several clips that hold the two halves together. I used my fingernails and pulled downwards. The clips are attached the center piece which latches to the outside bezel (you need to pull down/inwards on the center piece).

UPDATE 6/5/12

I've had zero issues with this unit since I purchased this back in '10. I've literally ran this non-stop for almost two years with the UV Light function ON and surprisingly, non of the UV Lamps or ozone plate have failed...yet. I've replaced the HEPA filter a couple of times and I regularly replace the pre-filter every month to two months using bulk activated carbon filter which I cut to fit the unit.

As I mentioned in my original post, this is a very well built, solid unit. If I ever need another unit, I will not hesitate in purchasing another one.

October 10, 2010. After using for several weeks now, have to downgrade to three (3) stars, as second hand smoke from neighbors below is not being handled at all, which is the purpose for which I made this purchase. If you need to remove household or cooking odors, it is excellent, however.

Ordered this yesterday, received it this morning via Fed Ex (only about 30 miles from vendor).I could not go to bed without leaving a comment.Am in an apartment with non-stop, chain smokers downstairs, which was the reason for my purchase. With the unit on low (only 700 sq. ft. apt) it removed all trace of the smoke.I cook with copious onions one to two times per day, this morning it quickly removed the odor while cooking. But, the biggest test of all, and of which I was entirely skeptical, was on the residual pesticide that was applied to my bedroom walls after a professional black mold abatement was needed from a water leak in this brand new apt.The chemicals they applied in middle April were still knocking me out today.I have chronic bronchitis and severe chemical allergies.Every time I would try to spend the night in the room I developed a sore throat, runny nose, swollen eyes, and itchy skin, not to mention the lingering putrid stench.I have been sleeping in the living room only.I placed the generator in the room at 8 PM tonight, cranked up the fan, the purifier, the anions, and the sterilizer (all on the handy remote), closed the door, and waited 30 minutes.Following the directions, I cracked the door and remotely turned off the machine and stayed out of the room for one hour. When I opened the door IT WAS THE SWEETEST SMELLING ROOM IN THE APARTMENT AND OF ANY ROOM IN MY MEMORY.Any and all hint of a smell is gone.I even noticed my skin doesn't itch any more, which started after they applied those chemicals.I AM AMAZED.Being disabled, it was very difficult to part with this money, but I literally, was suffocating to death from the smoke.I hope this lasts, and can stand up to alot of wear, cause it is going to work alot. Will update down the road...

So far. Product came quick with delivery. Everything seems to be intact. Very very quiet!. but, when the purifier is in effect there is slight noise irritation, but it gets the job done to do what its good at which is purifying my apartment homes air. So far so good. A+

This multi-function air cleaner does everything advertised...like several machines in one....and that makes it a great value for the price.I comparison shopped extensively before buying. It is easy to use and really pumps out the ozone and/or ions when set on high. The only slight disappointment was that the "timer" is really only a one-time on or off switch. It needs to be reset every time the machine turns off.I would recommend this machine to anyone in the market for any one of its cleaning functions.

Engel 22 Qt. Portable Fridge / Freezer

Engel 22 Qt. Portable Fridge / Freezer
  • Variable Temperature Control
  • Incline Operation up to 30° off level
  • Highly Efficient Engel Swing Motor - Low Amp Draws (even at start-up)
  • 100% CFC-Free Compressor
  • Vibration Resistant for Extreme Conditions

I've tried plastic coolers and a Peltier cooler/warmer over the years for multi-day (as opposed to multi-week) camping trips.Coolers have barely cooled things and are messy with melt. The Peltier cooler had the same minimal performance, merely slowing the rate of thawing. This year (2012) I decided to get a real baby refrigerator and the Engel seemed to have a good pedigree.I wanted something to fit in the back of my 2-door Explorer, which has a rather small "trunk" area. The standard size MT-35/MT-40 measured to fill up half the floor space but would disrupt access to the spare tire tools. The lid would likely hit the roof, and a fancy slide-out tray would probably be the to make it work. That seemed like total overkill for something I knew I would really only fill a few times a year (for camping trips). Most of the time it would just carry a few drinks and snacks for picnics and workdays at the boatyard.Stepping down the Engel range, I settled on the MT-27.It fits the Explorer with proper spacing for ventilation. The top is about level with the bottom of windows and does not block vision.I use the Engel transit base for a tidy installation and added an aft power outlet for power.I actually wired it downstream of a fancy carging relay for the pop-up trailer. This works out very elegantly since the relay lets the alternator charge the truck battery first, then supplies the trailer. This means when the trailer is attached, the trailer battery runs the refrigerator continuously so it can cool down during the drive to the campsite. For local use, the refrigerator runs when driving around but cuts out when parked, preventing battery drain.

I set the MT-27 to "3" for the initial test run, loading it with "cool" items to start. After a day of continous operation, the contents seemed a little non-quite-cold-enough, so we cranked it up to "4".The next morning, things were getting a little frozen, particularly items close to the cooling element around the top of the box.We tried nudging it back to a lower number and eventually ended up back near "3".Other items to note are that the maximum noise is a gentle hum and most of the time I need to check the lights to see if it is running. The wire basket works great to leave the main unit in the truck but access "everything" for major operations, like loading or retrieving ingredients for a meal. The weight of the empty MT-27 is pretty easy to sling around.I think this is an optimum unit for my casual operation.

Whirlpool 8212560 Anti-Tip Side Mount Kit

Whirlpool 8212560 Anti-Tip Side Mount Kit
  • THIS WHIRLPOOL 8212560 SIDE MOUNTING BRACKET KIT WORKS WITH MANY WHIRLPOOL DISHWASHERS.
  • Works with the following models: Whirlpool 7GU2300XTVQ0, Whirlpool 7GU2300XTVQ1
  • Whirlpool 7GU2300XTVS0, Whirlpool 7GU2300XTVS1, Whirlpool 7GU3200XTVY2, Maytag ADB1400AWB0

I just installed a Maytag dishwasher in my new kitchen. The instructions tell you to use this bracket when installing with a granite or Corian counter top. Looking at the picture I realized they don't look alot different from the top mounting brackets. I looked at the dishwasher sides and it has the same slots as on top. I installed the top brackets in the side slots, slid the dishwasher in and drove in the screws. One bracket went beyond the cabinet and was visible on the outside. I cut it flush with the cabinet and BINGO!. Dishwasher secured. Try this before getting the brackets here. May be a waste of time and money...

Kit came as advertised.Just wished they threw these in with the rest of the dishwasher. However, these side brackets fastened easily to the cabinet sides and hold our dishwasher rock-solid in place.

Can anybody post pictures of their insalled side brackets? I JUST dont get it. I can see that you bend the back tabs to sercure to tub but then it looks like in the diagram the its bent again to go around the front of the cabinet. It doesnt say in the instructions to make that second bend.

THANK YOU.

I used an under counter adhesive bracket to secure the dishwasher to a granite countertop. The brackets came loose over a short time. These brackets should be standard in every dishwasher kit when installing with granite or other hard surface counter top. Brackets did what they should do.They prevent the dishwasher from tipping with the door open.

The mounting kit worked as well as it is supposed to but getting there was difficult. These are for cupboards that have granite countertops and mount on the side walls of the cupboard to keep the dishwasher from falling out. The diagrams were practically useless and we ended up guessing on how they should be attached. They work great but should have been included in the price of the dishwasher as so many houses now have granite or marble counters. Great shipping.

This took longer to open the box than it did to install.

It seems to be a bit less substantial than the original, which lasted 5 years. I am hoping that this will hold up!

First of all, these are cheap door bins. They were designed that way, so I won't hold Amazon responsible.

But I give it five stars because they were exactly as advertised and were delivered sooner than the estimated date.

So far, so good. The Water Sentinal filter seems to be a good replacement forthe outrageously priced refills I've been buying from Sears.I always write a date on the refills when I install them. The Sears filters seem to last about 10 months. The results aren't in yet on my first Water Sentinal filter, but I'm optimistic.

Someone else wrote a review that stated that there is a bad taste (chlorine?) with these filters.I tried them anyway, and there is a bad taste in the beginning. But after we had gone through maybe a gallon of water, the taste is gone. For the next filter, I'm going to try rinsing it off first. And so far, the water is not killing my sensitive plant that needs filtered water, so I guess it's working :)

GE 40W 130V Microwave Light Bulb WB36X10003

GE 40W 130V Microwave Light Bulb WB36X10003Well at least it didn't do its job for long!I am having real difficulty finding the genuine GE light bulbs that will do on my GE microwave 'spacemaker' because that bulb blew out very quickly, it hardly lasted a month!I believe I need to buy directly from Sears as they seem to be the only one carying the genuine bulbs that will last on this particular model.Anyway the price was good but not the bulb! These are not the genuine GE bulbs! So good luck finding yours!

I bought 4 of these bulbs, delivery was good but, the first week one blew out.I have not replaced it because I'm afraid it will blow again.Lets see what happens to the rest

I realize this was through A-1 appliance, but Amazon has them on their website, so I blame them as much as A-1.The bulb arrived in a box packed with magazine pages for "padding."There was no receipt, no packing slip etc.., so when i opened the box and realized they sent me the wrong item, I didn't know how to return it, or even a receipt to check what they sent.pay a few extra bucks and get it from a reputable company.A-1 is a good steak sauce, but they are an awful part supplier

I have uploaded some pictures (5 to be exact) to show the microwave we put the bulb in, the old bulb and the new bulb along with the glass it broke. We dont use the lights all the time or as a night light. Only when we cook and then let the bulb stay on for a short time afterwards maybe. Its the same thing we have done for the past 8 years that we have had the microwave. This was the first time we had to replace the bulb in the unit. 8 years compared to less than 8 days. Something is apparently wrong with this one bulb or this model of bulbs. I am going to file a claim with the seller to replace the glass that was broke. It is rather expensive but we need to have it to keep stuff from getting into the socket. I placed wax paper up there but my wife refuses to cook on the range until it has a new bulb and replacement glass.

**UPDATE** December 23, 2012

I sent a complaint to the 3rd party selling this bulb expressing our concern that it blew out in a few days and damaged our microwave. The short of the response we got was that they didn't make the bulb. I would stay away from this bulb and the seller at all costs. At this point I have an irate wife who refuses to cook on the range until it is fixed. If you have a home supply center in town, I would take your make, model and SN of your appliance and check with them instead, that's what I plan to do now. :-(

Understand, I hold nothing against Amazon, only the seller. The application for the bulb matched my microwave so it should have been fine but wasn't. Now I have about a hundred or so dollars worth of damage to fix out of my own pocket...not worth it...

Whirlpool WTW4800XQ Top-Loader Washer

I spent some time reviewing both Consumers Reports and customer reviews from Amazon and the like before purchasing a washer.

I noted a number of complaints about the new, "efficient" washers in general (not specifically Whirlpool):

1. They don't wash as clean

2. They don't rinse properly, leaving detergent residue on clothes

3. They wrinkle clothing during the new (much faster) spin cycle

4. They are noisy and take more time to do a load.

The main problem is that they all use less water than the old "Inefficient" washers, and the water they do use is cooler. Also, they often only "spin rinse" where they spin out the washing water and then spray in some fresh water while still spinning. (This is in place of a proper, old-fashioned rinse, where the clothes are agitated in a tub of fresh water.)All these changes (I won't call them improvements) are in order to save water and, more specifically, to save the energy used to heat the water. In addition, they spin much faster to get out more water so that you subsequently use less energy in the dryer.

Nice in theory, but the washing results often aren't as good.

My solution to this was to look for a washer with the most manual adjustments on it; and I chose to purchase the Whirlpool WTW4800XQ, having first READ THE MANUAL online.I discovered that, for lightly soiled clothes, I can (and do) use the "Casual Regular" cycle, which has a proper rinse instead of the spin rinse. This option also spins at a lower speed, causing less wrinkling.I can also choose my own water level. Thus, I'm basically back to how our old washer worked, with good results.

If I have to use the "Normal Regular" cycle for more-soiled clothes, it will only do a spin-rinse, but I have the option with this washer of adding a second rinse to the cycle in case one won't do.

The Whirlpool won't solve complaint #4, although I don't find it terribly noisy, just different. A "Normal Regular" wash, large load, with additional spin-rinse, took 75 minutes; a "Casual Regular" wash, medium load, took 55 minutes.

All in all, a good, basic washer that I have good control over, and at a very reasonable price: If you don't do dozens of washes a month, you don't need a high-efficiency washer that will cost you many hundreds of dollars more.

WHIRLPOOL WTW4800XQ

Here is the breakdown.

THE' PROS:

Large capacity

Gets Clothes clean

THE' CONS:

*The overly sensitive computer

*The lid lock failure

*Tendency to go out of balance easily

*Holes in clothes

*Hot water valve may melt in time

*Chewed up several items in just a week.

*No hot water. (The machine will automatically add cold water to hot so you get cold or tepid water, not even warm). My hot water in July was 100 degrees. This is barely warm.My water temp is 148 degrees but machine will not allow you to use hot water or even warm water.

*No soak feature

*Not very quiet, makes strong computer noises. Some reviewers say it is like a hack saw. I don't think it is that bad but it is not quiet in a condo environment.

*USLESS 'Technical Dept. (Whirlpool tech dept seems to have no training. You might as well pull a girl off the register at your local market for help.)

I had read there were a few people who had trouble with the lid lock not working correctly. I thought it was just an oddball. I had to return the unit because the lid lock would not allow water into the machine as it kept locking and unlocking. (yes! the water was on!). The first load was fine. The second wash load the lid lock would not stop locking and unlocking after one hour. I'made sure the clothes were evenly balanced in the machine. So'I unplugged the machine and let it rest for 15 minutes. The same process happened again--I let the machine lock and unlock for an hour. I'unplugged it again and let it rest. Tried this several times over 24 hours to no avail. The store I bought the machine from sent a repairman. He did not fix it--the machine just happened to work. When the repairman left I did a load ('this was my third load of wash since I bought the machine) and the same thing happened. It was quite arduous to get my money back.

What is supposed to happen?--The lid lock will lock and unlock until it feels the load is balanced. This is normal. But it is not normal if the machine locks and unlocks for hours. This is what happened to me.

Also when I went to go purchase another washer from another store, the manager said they had a lot of problems with the WTW4800XQ because in time the hot water valve would melt. Yes, according to this manager of the store just 120 degree water out of the tap was enough to deform the hot water valve. He thinks Whirlpool has been trying to remedy this problem. But he could not say for sure if they fixed this error. Whew! I feel I dodged a bullet with this machine

PAY ATTENTION to those people who say that they have a lid lock failure and the machine goes out of balance easily. These are real problems and I encountered them both plus holes in my clothes.

This WTW4800XQ got the clothes clean but it did not work consistently and it went out of balance frequently and easily. My new SpeedQueen 432 is a dream of a washer. Read my other review on SpeedQueen 432 to see how amazing this machine is and what you need to be aware of with the new government regulations.

After my WhirlPool WTW4800XQ washer was installed, I did a few

loads and there was a spot about the size of a quarter under the

machine. The next day after using the machine most of the day,

there was a small puddle of brownish oil/water with surrounding

brownish spray under the machine. It appears the washer leaked

water and also a significant amount of oil.

I detected the leak by sliding a white plastic tray top from a

storage container under the machine, but I expect that newspaper

slid under the machine would also work.If I had not done this,

then I probably wouldn't have been aware of this leak, since I

normally don't do a lot of laundry.

Another reviewer described the sound this washer makes as

"eeee eeee eeee eeee" which is pretty accurate.I am not certain

but given other internet reviews, I assume this sound is normal

for this machine.I think the loudness went down as I did more

loads and with higher water levels. After a while I didn't

notice the sound.

I had no problems with the lid lock feature, at least during Fill

and early in the Wash cycle. The lid unlocked quickly every time

I tested it.

I liked the fact that I could just press Start if I used the same

settings as before. There was no need to rotate a dial back to the

same position as the last load.

I would have kept this machine if it didn't leak. All I need is a

basic washing machine but the leak seemed to imply poor

reliability/longevity and this factor is very important to me.

My new washer doesn't even fill enough to cover the clothes... so how can they call this thing a "washing machine?"It's truly an expensive laundry basket. Not only do the clothes NOT get washed and rinsed properly, but the agitator beats the Hell out of the clothes.I called Whirlpool's customer service and found the representative belligerent. The machine is going back immediately, and I've lost all faith in the Whirlpool company. If they can engineer and dump a unit such as this on their customers, and then treat them like dirt, there's no end to how they are willing to scam us.NO WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS... EVER!

Just got this a week ago to replace a piece of junk, moldy, expensive, Neptune front loader that should have gone to the scrapyard the day I got it.This machine is a third the price and twice as good.A basic, top loading machine with an agitator in the middle.REAL knobs to adust!Perfect for our small family.Purchased at Best Buy and the price was great, the delivery even better. My wife and I both wanted just a basic machine (like we grew up with). I read some bad reviews on this machine but most looked like people didn't read the instructions or were expecting too much from this basic washer. We have already done a bunch of loads and I am not sure there is a better machine for the money.$408 delivered with the old one haulded away,Sears wanted a hundred extra for that!
