This one, conversely, has a couple of pretty noisy fans. I don't know how they call it silent. Also, it kicks out a lot of heat, which my larger version does not.
Finally, good luck getting 12 bottles in here. I don't mean large champagne bottles or anything, just standard wine bottles. I can barely squeeze 8 bottles in here. I would avoid this model.

We just purchased this unit. It is quiet and cools fine. There are 2 flaws with the storage. We used to have a Cuisinart, (which broke down twice in 3 years, so we decided to try another brand), which had a small area to stand an opened bottle in front of the bottles laid down in the racks,which was a nice feature. This unit not only does not have that space, it is not tall enough to be able to take the racks out and stand any bottles in it. The other flaw is the rack design does not allow enough space to rack a slightly rounder shaped bottle. We really liked the Cuisinart design but it didn't work forlong. This seems to be working fine, but it is designed poorly. It makes you wonder it the designers of this product ever tried it out for practical use. This is a nice small wine fridge that keeps the wine in it nice and cool.Unfortunately it doesn't last nearly as long as one would expect for $160.I can assure everyone that it will not hold twelve standard wine bottles.Would not advise anyone to purchase this one.One side of the fridge stopped working about 2 years after purchase.I am about to replace the cooling fan on that side to see if it will cool again.If not, it's trash.

I've had it for a couple of months, so far I'm very pleased.It keeps a steady temperature and is very quiet.I'm not to happy with the shelving; you must open the door wide and pull out the shelves just to fit a bottle in.This is not the most convenient thing to do.I guess if that's the only problem, I can live with it.

My boyfriend bought this wine refrigerator for me as a birthday gift on a total whim. It was a fantastic, unexpected present and has so far worked perfectly for me. I've never owned a wine cooler previous to this one, but I do live in a smaller apartment, so it's compact size is exactly what I needed. As another review stated, the shelves are kind of close together preventing the BIGGER wine bottles from fitting side-by-side, however all standard wine bottles will fit. I tend to buy the larger bottles of Barefoot Moscato, in which case I simply remove one shelf for the time being. Personally, I'm not at the point where I've collected dozens of wines and will RARELY have more than 12 bottles at one time to fill this fridge anyway. Avoid this product.I ordered the cooler several months ago to use in my basement.Now I plug it in and it beeps but does not get cold.The company said to send it to them and they will repair and ship it back to me but UPS wants $179 to ship the unit out to California from Pennsylvania.That is more than I paid for the thing.It would be cheaper to buy another new one but that probably wouldn't work either.They first said the could send the part but now tell me I need to send the cooler to them and they won't send the part.SUNPENTOWN does not stand behind their product and has never heard of customer service.Sunpentown WC-1271 ThermoElectric 12-Bottle Slim Wine Cooler

This replaced the oem board perfectly, after programing following the included instructions has fixed my problem. Instructions were very good. It took longer to figure out how to get to it than it did to actually replace it.

I had a similar experience as the user above. This unit does not cool.when I contacted customer service they were little to no help and told me to ship the cooler back to them... I live in CA so it cost me$120 in shipping fees. When my unit was returned to me the unit was in terrible shape. The unit was dented,scratched, and the door fell off. I called customer service and there response was to blame FedEx although the box and shipping material were in fine shape. When I put the unit back together and plugged it in to my surprise it did not cool. I can go on and on about the poor quality of this unit and the rude experience with theircustomer service team..... I wanted to upgrade from a small but excellent working 6-bottle cooler by Cuisinart to one with two zones for both red and white wines. The Kaloric WCL 32964 21 appears to be of good workmanship and arrived safely in a well designed package. After assembling it I placed it in a well ventilated area and set the controls to 48 deg.for the white wine (upper section) and 63 deg for the red. Although the room temperature never has exceeded 75 deg F. the upper section has never been able to get below 56 deg. The lower section keeps switching between 62 and 63 deg, which I suppose is normal. The User's guide claims that the unit can cool to 30 deg. below room temperature. This unit has only managed 19 deg. Disappointing.Product arrived broken/damaged and upon closer inspection I noticed the door would not fasten properly, even after closely reading the directions.The bolt was simply misaligned.
