Not too loud, small but can hold large drink items in door, this handsome little fridge has a real freezer, not just a cube tray in a compartment. So far, so good. They say to give it a LOT of room around it, we have less than the suggested 3-4inches but the unit doesn't put out too much heat and it has been summertime.

This seemed like a good mini-fridge for a 12'*16' building we had constructed near the pool, where we use it just to keep a few beers and sodas cold.The stainless steel is hard to find in this price range.Unfortunately, even with such light usage the compressor seems to run constantly; I can't remember going into the building and not hearing it.Last week I plugged it into an energy monitor device for an objective view, and sure enough it's an energy hog.Maybe it's because it's in an unshaded spot, but the structure is insulated and not hot to sit in (we have a home theater, bathroom, and shower room in this "man cave").Will update this review as we go through autumn, just to see if the season shift changes things.

Even though the refriferator section is a little smaller than the old one-door version we had, it's worth it to have the seperate freezer section.The freezer section in the one-door model was bascially useless.it didn't keep things frozen enough and it was constantly in need of defrost.The fridge is very sharp looking and fits perfectly under the counter.

I purchased this refrigerator as a birthday present for my husband, not *quite* sure if it was something he'd like.Well, as it turns out he loves it, despite a few limitations.

The unit came delivered in perfect condition.The only assembly that was needed was to insert the shelves and install the door handles.The instructions say to let the unit sit for 24 hours before plugging it in, but of course, we unpacked it and plugged it in before we saw the instructions.I unplugged it as soon as I ready that (so after maybe 20 minutes) and then plugged it in again the next day.It was fine, and it got up to temperature very fast.I can't remember how fast, but fast.

The unit is very quite.We have it in a back bedroom/play room, and you can sleep there without being bothered by the fridge.

Ok, so the weaknesses.We drink a lot of champagne, and the unit does not accommodate champagne bottles well.The shelves themselves are not metal and seem a little light for the $500-ish price tag, but they've been fine so far.Since the unit was not designed for champagne, it doesn't get super-cold, but cold enough for storage (46 degrees, I think).We have beer and red wine in the other side, I think at 50-something degrees.

I did a fair amount of research on wine refrigerators before I bought this one.So far, I'm happy with my purchase (it's been about a month).We'll see how I feel a year from now.

I bought this for office wine storage (yes, I work in a strange office).Assembly was straightforward once I figured out where they had stored the screw-in front feet.(They're tucked in a corner in the styrofoam).

I wasn't pleased that the instructions called for a few hours of settling before powering it on, but I've had another wine fridge die on me within days of arrival (not this manufacturer or model), so I let it settle.

Settings are straightforward and it maintains the target temperature with almost no noise.

On the downside, the shelves have these metal fronts on them (You can see them in the pictures.The shelves are just wire frame, but there's a front piece).You can't insert or remove even a standard bottle without sliding the shelf out.It's a minor nit, but my home fridge doesn't have this problem, so it bothers me a bit.

We were a little worried when the box showed up.The exterior of the box was bashed in.The shippers clearly gave this item a "fun" ride.Amazon or the manufacturer expected that, though, I guess.It was double boxed, and the inside box (and the product) were fine.

I would buy this item again.

One good looking wine chiller. Absolutely love the steel capped racking.It can store up to 32 bottles evenly with 16 bottles in the right zone and 16 bottles in the left zone. This is a compressor free vibration-free thermoelectric powered cooling type unit. My personal preference given the absence of vibration which can wreak havoc on older wines with softer corks. It also minimizes the drying effect of compressor coolers.The shelves can be taken out so I can put in bottles of varying sizes, but it still looks the best with all the racks installed.

Solidly-built and beautifully designed, I'm surprised it doesn't retail for twice the price. That's why I love shopping on here! It keep temps very accurately and the dual-zones are a real must especially when the hubby likes sangioveses to my reislings.

We purchased this FRIGIDAIRE side by side for our home and rental property, last year! We are a two person family and the rental property was an older man and women. Approximately, 9 months after purchase we noticed fractures,tiny vein like splits in the bottom of a few bins while cleaning them, on both refrig. The bin broke away at the hinges and the fracture finally broke the bottom out. We assumed she pulled on it and did not contact FRIGIDAIRE!Two days ago, I opened the frig door and another on came crashing to the floor, breaking glass bottle condiments onmy kitchen floor. The same breaksand fracture in the plastic were apparent. THESE BINS ARE CHEAP AND DEFECTIVE! I contacted FRIGIDAIRE and they told me its over the year warranty, SORRY; and gave me all the phone numbers, web addys, parts locations in Jacksonvilleone hour away) and info to purchase some more PLASTIC BINS! GALLONS ARE $43.58 , Smaller bins are $34.50, plus shipping and handling! When I checked our rental properties refrigerator, our tenants had one brokenbin in the garage already! All were already fractured!

I spoke with FRIGIDAIRE AGAIN! Explaining to them this is a defective plastic and needs their attention. I was told for a service fee of aprox $125.00, they would send out a rep to view the plastic bins for defects. But only then would it be noted that they were defective and it was their opinion that had the last word.

Who thought that game up over there at FRIGIDAIRE?? Make the customer pay out of pocket $125.00 bucks for a FRIGIDAIRE REP to tell you what you already know they will say.." Sorry, they are not defective", and be out $125.00 and still have no bins to hang on your refrigerator door inside this big stainless steal over priced chill box?? Are they that cruel and uncaring?

That deal already sounds BIAS and being out $125.00 is not fair game. So, all in all this is my OPINION:

They make money off these broken bins! BIG BUCKS!They want them to break away and make you think its your fault! Your kids are pulling on them, you are chilling 50lb weights in the bins, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM HERE, not FRIGIDAIRE!!

It the lowest of lowest scams. FRIGIDAIRE Produces cheap break away plasticbins that can't hold a bag of marshmellows, yet rate them for two gallons of milk, and keep the customer re-purchasing their parts. I'd be ashamed to be the engineer who rated these! It was probably a monkey with some building blocks and a banana reward system, named BOBO the chimp!

The solution is to NOT buy the refrigerator in the first place.An expensive lesson for us.The flimsy clips on this bin spontaneouslyshattered and dumped everything on the floor when I gently tugged the door open one day.It was the LEAST-used bin in the fridg, just a few condiments.

Also, the crisper drawer wasn't completely closed one day, and parts of THAT drawer AND the shelf it hangs on shattered when the closing door nudged it shut as it closed.

A similar shelf/drawer arrangement in the freezer broke from (gasp!) the weight of 8-10 pounds of frozen food in the drawer.All told, it's been close to $200 to replace all the the cheap junk with more cheap junk.Pathetic, but I'm sure Frigidaire sees that as a huge success story.

Sadly when I went back to the store to see if other fridges might be an improvement, their shelves and bins looked equally flimsy.

I don't know if the title to my review was descriptive enough, but I will say it another way these bins are worthless I can't believe they would put them into a refrigerator to hold milk, what a joke. I was upset when my two year old broke the 1st one I thought he had pulled on it. Then my wife broke the 2nd one. Junk and I agree I am sure electrolux (who owns frigidaire) loves that they screwed us, but people remember quality.

It deserves zero star. The shelves keep breaking, the design is so flawed and the quality so cheap. I replaced all 3 door bins but finally gave up because the expense was getting ridiculous for replacement bins lasting no more than a couple months with light use.

Now I have a mostly useless fridge door where I can't store anything. Very unhappy customer, but the company must be laughing all the way to the bank, making a lot of money from people buying replacement shelves over and over.

Needless to say, I will never buy a Frigidaire appliance again. And next time I buy a fridge, I'll buy one with molded door shelves if they still make them.

Danby may make nice refrigerators, and price-wise, their strongest competition seems to be Haier and Avanti, especially for compact fridge for use in dorm/offices.

Now, my previous personal fridge was a Haier which lasted for a good 2 1/2 years, but it suddenly died one day and I needed a quick replacement. I used it primarily for storing drinks and snacks, so I didn't need one that was "freezing" cold.

I did my fair share of research, and landed on this deal directly from amazon.

The problem with getting compact fridges shipped is the packaging. Note, this unit essentially has none, aside for a half inch thin "padding" of styrofoam on each side. It is shipped directly in its retail package, and a lot of people have noted that some shipped fridges arrive DOA due to the damage during shipping, so my suggestion is to reduce time it takes to ship as much as your budget allows. Luckily, this Danby is lightweight, and though the box look a bit beat up, the unit itself is in fine working order so far.

Another problem is the temperature. I haven't measured it directly, but it is true that it may not be cold enough for medical purposes, and anything other than storing refreshments for that matter. I expect dairy (e.g. milk) would be okay, but if opened frequently the unit seems to get warm fairly easily. It does get colder after around 24 hrs after the unit has turned on.

The inside has a strong "factory" odor to it, and it takes some time to get rid of, but not a major problem. There is also a light that comes on when the door opens, which is a plus factor.

For the price range, this makes a great personal beverage cooler which was exactly what I needed, but I suspect that it may not be cold enough for some (as others have noted). If you need a fridge that needs to be colder, look for a unit that has a small freezer section up top; they tend get much colder than this Danby. Good luck!

I have owned this large fridge for about 9 month now and couldn't be happier. I works great at keeping my food fresher longer, vegatable last around 50% longer if I had to put a number on it. Its has vents on each shelf to ensure adequate airflow everywhere. The freezer has never had any frost develop, not even a drop. Unlike the other review the ice maker works flawlessly creating around 5+ pounds a day. I have two friends that own high end LGs and I like this icemaker more than any of theres. There comes with an LED touch screen, but about $1000 more in price too. The wine rack on this one is a nice touch for keeping some whites around the house.

The only complaints I have is large tall items like a gallon of milk can only be put in the door. Obviously you could adjust the shelves, but this would result in one of them becoming uselessly small. This isn't a huge problem as we just keep large items in the drawer, but still an adjustment from most fridges I am use too. Also the ice drawer has a steep learning curve. After a couple month me and my wife can get it on and off on the first try.

Pros:

+Huge, great for large families or entertaining.

+Great air circulation keeps item fresh and clean.

+Effective ice maker

+Mostly a great fridge layout

+Cheap for what it offers

Cons:

-Only large items fit in fridge door.

-Ice drawer not the easiest to get in and out.

I purchased this fridge a year ago. I love the size, I can finally get everything in. My complaint is that the temperature is on the lowest setting, 34 but I have a thermometer which says the fridge is 40. I have to throw things away all the time milk, mayonaise etc.. The other problem which is really annoying is the lights. I wish there was some way to turn them up. When you see it on the showroom floor it is empty so it seems bright enough, but once you start putting items in, it blocks the light because they are along the back two thin strips.I tried buying some led lights and stuck them in there to be able to see better but they didn't last.

Light in the freezer is not working

Water and ice do not come from the water dispenser, though everything is properly connected,

The temperature in the freezer is set to -2. The actual temperature is 29, while the display shows 60 degrees.

The temperature in the refrigerator is set at 36 degrees as shown by the display, while the actual temperature is 42 degrees.

Missing one shelf in the fridge ...

There are probably more problems that I have not noticed yet ...

Horrible experience; do not buy this expensive garbage, because for this money you can buy two of the same or similar features that actually work ...

Tomorrow comes technicians who will (hopefully) to locate fault(s), and then I'll have to wait for spare parts for at least a week (standard procedure)...

So far, this 'fridge has been worth every penny. No issues to speak of and the premium features are fantastic. There could be a nit or two, but they aren't worth mentioning because the overall experience this fridge provides more than compensates. Great buy.

The good news is the valve works great. The bad news is the mounting bracket was diferent from the original OEM part.

I was able to find a suitable mounting position with just a little experimentation though. Overall I am satisfied with the part.

My GE frig stopped making ice and dispensing cold water. I replaced the filter but that made no difference. The water would take 30 seconds to a minute before any came out. It finally stopped altogether. I decided to replace the valve assembly and ordered one from Amazon.For $55, it was a great price. Other retailers charge as much as $80 or more. Shipping was fast and free.

Replacing the assembly was fairly simple. The only problem was the plastic bracket over the input. It interfered with installing thevalve assembly. My old assembly had a much smaller bracket. Ended up cutting it away with a wire cutter. Be sure to label the wire connectors and hoses as you remove them from the old assembly so you can replace them correctly on the new assembly. I simply removed each connector or hose from the old assembly and placed it on the new assembly.

I also had poor water flow due to the needle valve assembly where I connected to the water supply in my basement. The needle valve had become corroded with lime scale build up.I scrapped it down and cleaned out any remaining build up to get the water flowing again. I'll replace the needle valve assembly when I have time.

It's great to have water and ice again and not pay the repairman $300 or more for the house call.
