Even after seeing other reviews,that stated they melted and pulled away from the magnet, I had to try these because they were L shaped.I could not find an L shaped stainless steel.I loved the way the looked when I first got them.However, the first time I used a large pan, they melted.Very dissapointed that a product designed for a stove cannot handle the heat.

I really like this stovetop extender.I bought a set before this that cost less, but I got what I paid for!This fits so low and snugly against my stove that it is hardly noticeable, and others who have seen it have commented on how nice it looks.

First thing manufacturers should realize is that the product is being placed right next to stovetops, which means that product should be able to withstand heat coming from the stove while cooking. From the heat, this product eventually tends to bend and disfigured, due to which the product becomes totally useless as it is not able to retain its shape and fit into the gaps which it is supposed to cover up by its function. We had to throw away ours after 1 month's use. The manufacturers of this product are either extremely dumb or did not test it well enough.

I installed the new ice maker tonight.It is essentially the same as the old one for my Kenmoore (Whirlpool) 106.56532400 side-by-side refrigerator but with one redesign I hope improves performance.The original ice maker had a problem with the fill tube freezing.The new ice maker has a higher "wall" around the fill tube.I assume this is to block the air from the cooling duct freezing the water as it is dispensed into the tray--I hope I am right and that it works.One note for do-it-yourself types, it took our freezer about 3-hours for the first ice to drop (spec says up to 24-hours).From what I read, this is a function of the ice maker tray being cold enough--expected status.One last thought/recommendation:the new ice maker was dusty and you cannot get it perfectly clean so I will dump the first bin of ice.

My husband and I bought this unit 2 years ago while doing a remodel to rental suite (they'd have their private mini-kitchen).It sat for a few months in the box waiting to be installed inside the house, air conditioned, and away from sunlight.We finally opened an installed it 9/2011.Aside from using it twice for chilling party trays (turning it on when needed, off when not), it didn't go into "full-time use" until we had a renter move in upstairs and began to use it 9/1/2012.The renter noticed an issue in March 2013 as her milk and other food was going bad faster than the expiration dates and finally brought it to our attention on 3/20/2013. We put a thermometer inside, left the fridge closed for 30 minutes, and took a reading it was 20 degrees warmer in the fridge than the digital thermometer was set to (we left it in overnight and it never went lower than 57 degrees).My husband called Avanti the next day (as they were closed) and a serviceperson was sent out today (3/22/2013).For $65 the serviceperson looked the unit over and declared that there was a sealant issue in the lines that could not be fixed and that we would need to call our city to properly dispose of it.Great.We're out of the warranty zone and out $700, but if there's anything we've learned from this is:

Fridge-fairies do not exist.

Get a fridge with a 2 year or more warranty.

Stand alones are 1/3 the price or more than the cost of a built in.

They only last 2 years before petering out especially when they're this cheap (according to the serviceperson representing Avanti!)

If you're really concerned about looks, spend around $1,000 or more for a good mini-fridge built-in.Or buy a full fridge.

My ice makers stopped working and rather than pay a repair man, I decided to fix it myself. I tore out the old one and installed the new one. I now have ice and so far no trouble with the part.

I had ice. This ice maker broke about 2 months ago...so it lasted me about 3 months. I may return it for another. Until then I make ice in the bottom part of fridge. I know this is not a review of Samsung's fridge, but it has been a money pit.
