The Electrolux EWF2CBPA Pure Advantage Refrigerator Water Filter was a breeze to order on Amazon and it showed up on time as promised.

Once the filter was recieved my 14 year old son then installed it when it came in using the refrigerators water filter installation instructions. Be sure to follow the WATER FILTER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR MODEL OF REFRIDGERATOR! I have found instructions for refrigerators online prior to installing any water filters (I have 4 refrigerators I maintain).

In my experience "as a minimum" you should ALWAYS be sure to turn off the refrigerators built in automatic ice maker before removing the water filter, then I run several glasses of water through the refrigerators water dispenser. I do this using a large sized clean/clear water glass, and then run the water from the refrigerator dispenser until the water in the glass is coming out of the refrigerator dispenser clean and clear. Beware after several glasses filled with water that sometimes the water may look a little cloudy from air bubbles coming out of the refrigerator water dispenser, if this occurs let the filled water glass stand for a minute or so and in my experience it has always cleared up. I typically run no more than one gallon of water through the filter after it has been changed.

Note: I have always witnessed the second and third glasses of water the dirtiest out of my refrigerators water dispenser after changing the water filter. The black color is the Carbon Particulate off the filter (THIS IS NORMAL). Also note that if you forget to turn off the ice maker and do not dispense water correctly, what may happen is the automatic icemaker can cycle (make ice) and the blackish colored filter residue (Carbon particulate) will end up in your refrigerators ice dispenser. If this occurs you shouldn't panic, run a few glasses of water from the refrigerator water dispenser to be sure the water is clear/clean. I would personally then dump out the ice for a couple of days or longer, just until the ice comes out clear/clean again (no blackish colored carbon residue from the filter).

Need to return this item.It does not appear to be filtering the water and leaves a nasty taste in the water.The water tastes better from the faucet.

The filter doesn't seem to fit as well as the one that was in the fridge before even though the specs say this is the correct filter.The print on the front of the filter was slightly different as well.

It appears to be a genuine Electrolux filter but does not seem to work properly.

Does not fit properly for older models, yet gives replacement number of same. Leaks, blows filter out of recess, floods everything. Someone missed part numbers on this one and I know it wasn't me.

I just purchased this fridge for my "Man Cave" and I am very happy with the purchase.The fridge is great for the retro look.I purchased the black model and it is the color of "flat black" not polished which resembles the look from this era.The handles are plastic and held to the door with four screws so they are very sturdy.All decals on the door are from stickers and could be ripped off without proper care.All these things that are not well made are just cosmetic and have nothing to do with the functionality of the fridge itself.The freezer is good size and gets very cold.The fridge has all the compartments you would need from a 3.1 cubic feet fridge, which is a great size for any dorm or bar fridge.The fridge runs very quiet for you can barley here it when it's on.The regulator is very easy to read and easy to use.The light is nice and bright and I was very surprise to see a light inside a very small fridge.I do also recommend the Nostalgia Electrics Kegerator which I also have.One great thing about Nostalgia cooling products is that everything gets cold and stays cold.I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a small dorm fridge or beverage fridge.

The item looks neat enough.I tried it on multiple cold levels and it did not work.

When it arrives, it is in a bright colored stripped box.No hiding what it is.The box also is the only protection it has :(no padding except thebottom).The card board was pretty thin. There were a couple dings on the edges.

I wish it had worked.The damage wasn't a big deal as it was at the back, but I would have deducted a star.

The energy start rating sticker on this said $40 per year @ 376kWh.I have seen others that say $36.

The ice maker came with no instructions but if you managed to get the old one out, this one slides in fairly easily by reversing the process.There was an odd plastic piece screwed to the bottom of the unit which I removed and the bolted on the sliding shelf piece that was attached to my old unit.I plugged the unit in, slid it back into place and within 15-20 minutes the tray was already filled with water.

Make sure you let the first several batches go through and then throw away the ice to make sure you're not getting any manufacturing contaminants.I wiped the unit out a little and then let it run over night and dumped what it had created just to be paranoid.

If you replace this item and you're still having trouble, be sure to check the blinking LED on the side of the freezer that is the sensor/indicator light (assuming your model is like mine).There's a pattern to the LED blinks.On mine, it would blink twice, pause, and then repeat.If you close the flap for the sensor, the blinking would change to a solid light.If you close the flap, and you're still getting blinking then there's a good chance that the sensor is somehow blocked or no longer good.In this case, you'll need a control board which for mine was...I believe...this model:Whirlpool Refrigerator P.C. I used the control/motor piece from this unit (connected with three screws) to replace the one in my old ice maker (from a Kenmore 106.565xxxx side-by-side black fridge bought in 2005) and it seems to have done the trick. It is now making ice again. Even though I only used that part from this unit, it seems it was the cheapest way to get the part, plus I have the rest of the unit should I need it in the future. I'm sure this saved me a bunch of $$$ compared to having a Sears repairman do it (probably about $300).

The ice maker replacement works fine.Note that our frig requires a different ice guide.That's the big white piece in the front.This part has a flat front but our OEM had a ramp guide.Without the ramp guide, your ice will eject all over the place inside your freezer.I was able to completely disassemble the old and new unit to replace the ice guide with the OEM guide.Pop the cover on the left side, remove the two silver screws only that hold the ice-tray to the motor assembly.Do not take apart the motor housing screws!Once the two screws are out, you can separate the tray assembly from the motor housing to replace the guide.

I ordered two LG filters by Cuno as was originally in our LG refrigerator but received two filters for Kenmore refrigerators by a different manufacturer. They arrived quickly and in good order. They seem to be well made, are very similar to the original and are rated for 500 gallons so I kept them. It has been a few weeks since installation and the water is clear and odorless so the filter seems to be effective. What I am not entirely satisfied with is the fact that I received a substitution by a different maker than what was described and pictured and I have to assume are of similar quality.

What I received was the much cheaper product from Water Sentinel, fulfilled by Potential Dynamix. There is no mention of this Water Sentinel filter anywhere on the product description, my receipt or shipping info. Either a favorable error for the seller or a bait and switch.

Oster 3157 400-Watt Single-Speed Juice Extractor, White/Grey

I was looking for a small, inexpensive juicer today that I can use for a couple of months while I'm away from home and found the Oster juicer at my local store. I'd never heard of the brand before but at under $50 it seemed like a bargain. So I grabbed a bag of veggies and dashed back to give it a whirl.

The mouth where you push the veggies through is a decent size but you will need to slice most veggies at least once before you can fit them in. No big deal, takes about 2 minutes to do the whole lot. The motor is really strong and had no trouble chewing through carrots and beets. It has a decent size pulp catcher that's quick and easy to take off when you need to empty it.

I also like the fact that there is not a huge amount of space between the blade and the plastic thing that's used to push the veggies/fruit down, so small bits don't get stuck in the gap like some previous brands I've used.

There's not much bad I can say about it, given the size and price. If you're a big time juicer and will use a machine daily you might want to get a larger capacity juicer or one that can fit whole fruits and veg in. If you're new to juicing, will only use it once or twice a week or don't want to fork out for pro juicer then I'd definitely consider this, you really can't go wrong.

I got this juicer from a friend who spotted it on my Amazon wish list.It is one of my favorites Christmas gifts this year.I just made a wonderful glass of carrot/apple (Fuji) and ginger.I am experimenting with it on my own and everything I have made is smooth and delicious!This is my first juicer but I see no reason for getting a bigger one because this does the job very well(except for wheat grass as you need different type of grinder). The Avanti Compact Freezer is exactly that compact.It fit nicely into a 22 inch wide space.Inside, there are three shelves the top two have a depth of 13 inches, the bottom shelf is a disappointing 8 1/2 inch depth because of the motor.

The door opens on the left, but can be changed by calling a customer service number for directions. Noise is moderate.The unit is lightweight and easy to move about. Temperature can be set 1 4.I have had the freezer for one week set on 3 with no problems. Negatives?Upon initial plug in, a strong chemical odor came from the back of the unit.Seven/eight days later, I can occasionally still smell that odor. Overall, this is a nice little freezer.

I looked up the part on various sites, using the part # on the parts lists. When it arrived, It had both the overload, and the start relay. The refrig I have seems to be a little different. The Spade Connector that ataches to the power cable was only about 1/8" wide, and the one that came with the kit was about 1/4" wide. I was able to file it down, and it seems to work as I am writing this. I ordered a capacitator also, but I saw no way to use the cap if I used the start relay. I looked back, and all websites seem to look like the wider spade.So far, I am happy with the quality.

After seeing the square trade warranty offered on ebay ( found it on amazon after 'search' because amazon didn't offer it at checkout ?) I read the SquareTrade contract details. Seems like the '4 year' warranty is only an additional 2 years beyond the OEM 2 year warranty. I guess a little bit of hype and hyperbole makes for a good sales pitch. All in all tho, aside from egregious marketing spiel, 289.00 to extend the warranty on a $2200.00 appliance is not REALLY all that terrible, esp considering most products will fail 5-10 days AFTER OEM warranty runs out lol.
