Pros: Given the fact that it is a shallow depth design, and its ice maker/dispenser is very large, the thing has a surprising storage capacity. It has one shelf in the door big enough to hold a gallon or two of milk. There are three (three!) crispers--if you like crispers this is the fridge for you. The freezer is narrow but well thought out.
The store display and the salesman were both enthusiastic about the fact that you can slide an 18" pizza into this fridge and still close the door, so if you store a lot of large pizzas you should consider this fridge I suppose.
It is a very quiet fridge and judging from the utility bill it seems to be extremely efficient.
Cons: There are a lot. In order of importance:
The ice dispenser is so poorly designed it is almost surreal. It dispenses these moon-shaped cubes, and it will also chew these up and dispense them as crushed ice. Getting ice out of it is quite an adventure: you push your cup against this plastic trigger thing and then ice EXPLODES out of it. It might not do it right away--there might be a pause--maybe even a long pause--you will hear this rumbling noise--then like a cubic yard of ice will BLAST out of the fridge, fill your cup instantaneously, the proceed to dump ice all over the floor.
I am not kidding. The ice eruptions are so violent you eventually develop an involuntary wince whenever you touch the ice dispenser and you have to psych yourself up and take some deep breaths before you put yourself through the ice agony and violence followed by the inevitable sweeping lots of ice up and putting it in the sink.
The water line to the ice maker is a little plastic tube that snakes up along the back of the refrigerator and enters the freezer through a little fitting. The water line is prone to freeze up, which stops the ice maker from working. This seems to be a common problem with these judging from some internet searches. It is not difficult to pull the fridge out, shut the water off, pull the water line out and knock the ice out of it--but many people will not know how to do that and will require a service call to put it right. Very poor design.
The three (three!) crispers take up about 40% of the fridge space. Maybe that's okay with you, maybe not.
All the plastic bits, drawers etc inside the refrigerator are very flimsy. The plastic door over the ice maker was broken when the fridge was installed, apparently done in by the mere strain of being delivered. The drawers are thin plastic, don't slide well, feel cheap. This refrigerator cost a LOT of money, they can't make a decent plastic drawer for it?
All in all I don't think this appliance is worth the money; I suspect there are better values out there. But it will hold a remarkable amount of food for its size and it does seem to be very energy efficient.

I bought one of these about nine months ago from a large home improvement store (not through Amazon). I needed a counter-depth, stainless steel 'fridge, and it fits the bill. It keeps everything at the right temperature. So it basically does its job.
It is not, however, very robust. The shelf supports break easily, and they are not covered by the warranty. While they are inexpensive to buy (I found them on Amazon), they are fiddly to replace, and when replacing them I worried that the interior cladding of the 'fridge would crack. These supports don't hold up to family usage, with more than a few ounces of weight on the shelves. We certainly don't overload the fridge, but the shelves are full.
Recently, one of the cooler drawers cracked when I was trying to pull it open. Best practice: open the drawers with two hands rather than using one hand in the indicated space.
Previous reviewers commented on "exploding ice": I'd point out that the jet of chilled water is positioned differently to most water dispensers... and it takes a bit of practice to avoid water all over the floor.
Definitely not a high-price, high-quality refridgerator. If you have your heart set on a counter-depth, put a little more money into your purchase. You'll be better off.
(I do not understand why all fridges are not designed to be counter-depth. Who wants a monstrosity sticking out into the middle of the kitchen anyway?)

I've spent a portion of my life with this refrigerator. It was a great upgrade for us. Everything is good with this frig with some negatives, but it basically does what you want, and gives you a little extra space if you can accommodate its width.
1) The squeaky drawers were annoying at the outset, but loaded with food, they quit squeaking.
2) The variable temp drawer (fruit/vegetable, i.e. crisper) in the refrigerator is the coldest drawer, and even on warmest setting it freezes vegetables, first by the vent, then throughout. The solution is to leave the drawer cracked open 1/2 an inch. Somehow this doesn't touch the door, and gives enough air exchange to beat the problem. The other solution might be to make this the bread drawer, or something besides fruit.
3) The ice maker does blast ice. It does this variably, though, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the craziness. My last frig made terrible ice when it made any, so this is not a problem for me. It helps to have big mouth cups to catch all the ice.
4) If you care, the stainless front is very "magnetic", so all the junk you had on your old white frig can go right up on this one.
5) I've never experienced a stoppage on icemaking by line freezeup, but the paddle that swings down after making cubes has gotten a cube caught way up near its hinge point, and stopped making ice. This happened to us twice. Happily easily to fix and a rare occurrence.
All that said, we are pleased with this frig after 6 months of ownership. For the money, this is the frig I wanted.

The replacement filter for our LG French Door refrigerator arrived quickly, was the correct one, and was received in perfect condition. The price was well below what I could have purchased it for locally, even with the shipping cost added on.I was apprehensive to replace the old filter, as it was the first time that it needed to be replaced.Installation instructions were included with the filter, and I had no problem removing the old one and replacing it with the new one.
I plan on continuing to purchase our replacement filters through Amazon.

Let me preface this by saying this is far too expensive for what you get, however we are a market who needs this exact product.
Love the refrigerator and if this is the filter I need, I've got to have it.It fits perfectly as it was made for the fridge.
I wish it would filter more gallons worth of water for the price.I know other fridge filter do one to two thousand more gallons for less money.
I looking for more bang for the buck, come on LG make a multi pack for a lower cost or filter more gallons of water please.Keep the innovation coming!

A few weeks after the warranty expired so did the refrigerator. It just stopped working. The lights came on when opening the door so I know electricity was still getting to it, but it just wouldn't get cold.I had a repairman over to look at it and he said it would cost a total of $927 to fix.According to the repairman this is typical with Frigidaire refrigerators (also sold by Sears under the "Sears" brand name). He said they have the worst quality of any refrigerator he has worked on.I'll never buy a Frigidaire again! We purchased this refrigerator from Lowe's approximately two years ago.First problem was shortly after the one year warranty ran out.The evaporator fan quit and the repair was over $300. Several months later it started leaking under the freezer side of the refrigerator.Next, water started flowing out of the water dispenser without it being depressed.Bottom line, I will never buy another Frigidaire product and if you are determined to buy this piece of crap, you better buy a lifetime service agreement.GE GTWN4250DWS 3.9 Cu. This model uses less water and far less energy than the old one, as it is designed to handle the new extra-strength super soaps, which produce the same clean for about a third of the volume of soap.
The tank may look like it has very little water in it, but in fact it is quite wide and deep, which enables the machine to rotate at slower and more gentle speeds than older models, with less water.
The tank is stainless steel, as opposed to older style machines whose tanks with fragile ceramic coatings that often chipped and cracked.
Stainless steel can be expected to hold up without rusting or popping leaks.
We bought this unit on the advice of a parent who had recently bought a similar model and was very happy with it. So far, so good.

I, like so many others, was horrified when my washer finally died after 22 years. After reading all the reviews, virtually no washer available got what I considered really good marks, even those that were well over a $1,000.Consumer reports is starting to get silly on this environmental stuff so they didn't even review washers with agitators.Geesh!Amazon is starting to be more and more reliable and is quoted quite often by reviewers with the advantage of being able to read each review. After balancing reviews, costs, and using a little common sense, I decided to go with this washer.First thing everyone needs to understand, these new style washers do not fill with water. When the wash cycle starts, the wash basket spins slowly while water is sprayed onto the garments, thus soaking the garments. You need to place the detergent in the washer before the wash starts since there is not enough water to disperse the detergent in the same manner as the old washers.I think that is what is worrying so many people...it's just different. There are also separate dispensers for bleach and fabric softener; I have used the one for bleach and it worked beautifully.
Reading the manual is a must because it really lays out what exactly the washer does and it's easy to manipulate the settings to do what you'd like. There's even a setting for just blue jeans.Or, you can override everything and just do long washes filled with as much water as the machine allows...but I doubt the wash would come out any better. Also a big plus, most regular loads have come out really, really dry. It's almost bizarre of how rung out they are and it has cut down on drying time.It is also very quiet...at least compared to our old machine.
Of course, I have no idea how long this washer will last but it has really exceeded my expectations.I honestly am very surprised at how well this washer works. My only advice for reading reviews on these new washers is realize they use much, much less water and spin really fast so complaints that are the results of those two realities, like clothes being twisted due to the fast spin, you almost have to ignore.
This is a very, very good washer and the price makes this thing a best buy, in my opinion.I honestly couldn't be happier.
2.26.13:Just as a quick add-on as I've now had this washer for over 3 months.I live in the country and am on a well system for water.Due to our filtration system I can see how much water we use.We use so much less water now I am shocked. Now, for me, I'm not that big on the ecological stuff as I find most of it to be misleading. However, if you want to use less household water, this washer has made a significant difference. If water conservation is a concern, then this is a good washer for that reason alone.

This machine gets my clothes clean, uses less water, detergent, and electricity than my last machine and has a huge basket. The basket does not fill all the way but I have ran some pretty big loads and have not noticed any spotting or problems with my clothes. The power rinse option seems to compensate for not filling the basket all the way. My preferred setting is the manual fill Super Load, with cold water for colors and warm for whites and I always use the PowerRinse option. Only drawbacks I've noticed is that the machine is much louder than I expected it to be (especially when the agitator is running) and that it took forever to ship from the dealer I ordered it from. These are the reasons I only give it a four star. Owned it for a little over a month now though and no major complaints thus far. I called GE on the noise and they said this should decrease with time and is completely normal when breaking in a new wash machine. Time will tell.Want GE GTWN4250DWS 3.9 Cu. Ft. On super high load, water only fills up to 1/2 full !Keep your old washers and get them rebuilt even if it costs you twice what a new one does.THis is mostly due to new government mandates. At least you can get it to rinse at same level if you put it on "power rinse" which is more than most models do.You just have to select "super" water level, and load it like you used to load a "medium" load in your old machine.Pray you don't have a king sized bed and a big comforter.
I did give it 3 stars because it does have manual water level and rinse is the same level. Also when selecting Hot wash, it is actualy hot.
I had to purchase a new washer when my old one finally gave up after having been repaired twice. This one is very quiet and after the spin cycle, the clothes are very dry so that drying time is cut in half. I have seen negative reviews complaining about the water level. I just turned it to super and didn't use the precise fill selection. Also, I saw a tip from another owner that if you select the fabric softener rinse, you will get more water in the rinse cycle. I used to have to close the laundry room door, which is right off the family room where we watch TV when using the old one. This one was so quiet I had to go check to see if it was running. I did find that I don't have to use as much detergent so that will save some money, there is a speed wash cycle if I need something in a hurry and shorter drying time. My best friend has a front loading HE washer and hates it. She saw this one and now wants to come try it out to see if she wants to sell hers and get one. Apparently mold and mildew buildup in hers is a problem. As far as how long this washer will last remains to be seen, but initially I am very pleased.
Update 2/12/2013I have been using the washer for a few weeks now and I still love it. I have read reviews where people have complained that it doesn't use enough water. If you learn to use the settings, you can get as much water as you want. I have to wash a lot of dirty jeans and towels. I use the super load setting and the fabric softener rinse setting. Both give plenty of water and my clothes get as clean as I could expect. No, not every stain comes out, but some of them are just permanent and no washing machine on earth could get them out. Spin cycle gets clothes very dry so my dryer only needs to run about half the time.
Cuisinart HM-50 Power Advantage 5-Speed Hand Mixer
In summary, this is a powerful and affordable handheld mixer (not powerful compared to stand mixers)
Update:
I do have one compliant.Years ago, customers were able to take their home appliances apart to fix them.Unfortunately, this mixer is not one of those.Cuisinart have sealed off the screw holes and prevented customers from opening up the mixer. My mixer was making some scratchy noises and I could tell it just needed some machine oil/lubrication.Instead of taking the unit apart and adding oil, I had no choice but to pour the oil from outside through the exhaust fan hole, hoping it will get to the place. It did somewhat, and now the noise has been minimized. However, it should have been more straightforward than this.
I still think this is a very nice mixer for its utility and affordable price, and I would still strongly recommend other potential buyers to consider it.However, it would have been nicer if the screw holes are not sealed.
*Update on late Nov 2009*: The mixer is still working fine -bought it since April 2009.The scratchy metal noise has not come back for some time.By the way, I use this mixer about 3 times per month for cookies and pastries.I hope this illustrates how often this mixer is being used.I am very satisfied with the product thus far.
*Update on Jun 26, 2010*: Still working fine.
*Update on May 31, 2011*: Still working.
*Update on Jan 05, 2012*: Still working
I got this mixer after my old one died.I dislike the "low" speed as it is almost as fast as my old mixer's high speed! For me, the purpose of a hand mixer is to mix light products, such as puddings and cakes and things that require more than a whisk.A low speed is needed to start out, and there is no low speed on this model. This is a major drawback as far as I am concerned.Aside from that, it is a lovely mixer, but not completely useful!
Buy Cuisinart HM-50 Power Advantage 5-Speed Hand Mixer Now
Bought this Cuisinart HM-50 Power Advantage 5-Speed Hand Mixer after another from a different manufacturer had conked out, even after simple light use. Decided then to go for a quality replacement, and haven't regretted this choice at all, plus it's quite handy... get it?
Bad pun aside, this kitchen appliance is a favorite, and has had a lot of use. Have found its five speeds to be quite adequate, and its 220-Watt motor to be up to the task. If you want more power and a greater range of speeds, there is the Cuisinart HM-70 Power Advantage 7-Speed Hand Mixer, which is also highly rated.
This handy (here we go again) appliance easily mixes even heavier ingredients than one might expect, and the one-touch slide control changes speeds easily. The supplied extra-long beaters (more on these in a moment) eject easily, and clean up quite well in a dishwasher, as should be expected.
Like larger stands mixers, there are a few (handy) accessories and implements available, such as the versatile CHM-WSK Chef's Whisk, great for making whipped cream, and the CHM-DH Set of 2 Dough Hooks. But of special note, must state that I also purchased an extra HTM-BTR-357 Beater Set.
This beater set wasn't bought as a replacement of the originals, but because they are quite multipurpose. I ordered the second pair, for the sole purpose of mixing paints, and they do a splendid job.
Who said that a (handy) kitchen tool can't be multipurpose? This is a 5-star choice for sure.

I had a Cuisinart hand mixer for 10 years and loved it.I thought this new one would be just like my old one. It's only problem, which is big, is that it has no low speed.Speed 1 beats so fast that everything flys out of the bowl.

I have had a lot of hand mixers over my life and I would call myself a happy senior citizen now, but the Cuisinart HM-50BKhand mixer is the best ever!I really like the beaters. They don't have the center bar and it whips things up before you know it. It is very powerful, too. It whips up thick cookie dough with no problem.
If you are looking for a new hand mixer then this is it! Thank you.

This is, by far, the best kitchen appliance I've ever purchased. Capacity is amazing you can get VERY BIG stuff in this dishwasher. Cleaning is great especially compared with our old unit, which left crud inside many bowls and glasses. But really, you couldn't ask for any better in the cleaning quality department. We do now use a rinse aid, which is pretty much essential with the stainless interior which, by the way, retains heat better and, yes, looks very cool. After a short while, some soap film has appeared near the bottom-front of the tub, but that's easily wiped away.
The repositionable silverware basket is a real boon. It fits up against the inside of the door, buying back a substantial amount of space from the lower rack.
As far as the noise level goes, we joke to each other that the sound of it is deafening, and cover our ears in mock distress. This is because, as advertised, it's a VERY quiet dishwasher. You can pretty much only hear it when it's either intaking water for the wash, or draining it at the end of a cycle. I've gone to start it only to realize that my husband already has it running.
One thing you should know: this unit is not fast. It takes at least a couple of hours to do a load of dishes. That's a result of the energy-saving properties of the design. It does, however, have a one-hour wash mode, and for moderately soiled dishes, i.e.,just glasses and plates, this works great.
Overall, I can't recommend this product highly enough. One thing I wish to share: We purchased our appliances (we built a new house, so needed everything) from a local business, and yes, probably paid about 10% more than at Sears or a big-box store, but we chose to keep the money in our community. And having our service people just a few miles away, and happy to answer questions, etc. has been very helpful. 10% for dealer nearby who cares if you buy from them again is a bargain, in my book. Buy this dishwasher!

Update 5/15/2012: Fridge is working great and still looks nice and brand new. Humming noise is barely noticeable anymore. I use primarily for water/soda and fridge can have them fully chilled in under 2 hours.
Update 9/6/2012: Today the fridge no longer works. It worked great for a little over four months, but I expect more than that. It sat in an air conditioned office keeping beverages cool that's it. It was not treated roughly and displays no wear or tear. I'm no fridge expert, but it's clearly not pumping freon into the unit. A Haeir customer service rep stated that it is in the window of their exchange policy. This requires me to fill out a form (that they will send via email), send the form back to Haier, and then they will send me a new fridge. It is up to me to dispose of the non-working mini-fridge. Overall, not a very complicated exchange.
Update: 9/7/2012: Sent return form to Haier for replacement.
Update 9/24/2012: Haier called to inform me that they received my exchange request. However, this exact model is no longer in stock, but they will ship me a comparable model in its place. I should have the new fridge within the next 2 weeks. Other than the 30ish day turnaround, I have been overall pleased with Haier customer service.

I've only had this fridge for a few days, so it is quite early to be giving a review, but so far I've had a good experience with this fridge. It worked, it looks really nice, and is perfect for my dorm. It does have a freezer component, but it's pretty small. I couldn't fit my 16 oz Ben and Jerry's in and still close it.
