Perfect fit & from what I was quoted by a local service technician, fixing it myself saved my at least $200!! The installation took less than 1 hour, with the last 30+ minutes struggling with the cable affixing the seal to the door frame. This step could have taken 3-5 minutes if I'd had a 3rd hand (or a helper of course). See the following link for repair

Changing our filter has been a frustration ever since our old cap broke only a few months after buying the refrigerator. I finally took the plunge and bought this as a replacement, and it works fine (though I'm very gentle with it hoping not to break it like the first one) but why is a piece of plastic so expensive?

Kegerator Cleaning Kit

I have used this product twice now for cleaning out my kegerator and it works like a charm. Very easy to use.

Just used the kit on my kegerator lines.Pretty simple product, what you see in the product photos is what you get, nothing special about this but it gets the job done.It is really easy to use and seemed to clear out any junk stuck to the side of the lines.I did appreciate the instructions, included how to disassemble the faucet/tap handle and gave hints on solving issues with your beer (taste, foam, etc.).The bottle has to be loosened a few times to allow air back into the system as you run the cleaner through the lines. Also, the wire contraption that is sent to keep the tap coupler open is very cheap and fell apart on meits a piece of wire shoved into a wire nut with some sort of glue holding it in place, you could definitely make this on your own, but it is helpful.I had to use some pliers to pull the wire out, as the wire nut came away from the wire.Overall, happy with the results.

Want GE Smartwater Water Filter Adapter Discount?

Some time ago I bought a house which had no fridge, and I couldn't afford new so wound up with a 12 year old GE Profile with ice maker/dispenser. The filter that was still in it was an old metal FXRC type, dated June 2000. (Yuck...) I just ran the water line, then found and ordered this adapter along with a new MWF cartridge and--voilà! Clean fresh water and ice, no leaks...perfect. It mounted above the upper shelf to the right and in the back. There was plenty of clearance for the filter/adapter combination.

My refrigator went out and had to get a replacment fast so got a used refrigator to hold us till we decided on which new one to purchase.well it didn't come with a water filter and we couldn't find one any where.Till I came across the Smartwater filter adapter and order it, when it arrived I put it on and it has worked out great. So now I can replace filter easly with filters sold at local hardware stores using this adapter.

Mini Office Fridge Cooler / Warmer White

Mini Office Fridge Cooler / Warmer WhiteI had one of these mini-fridges when I was in school and I loved it.It broke on me recently, so I replaced it with this one.IT IS LOUSY!!I couldn't actually try it because it only came with the car charger. To use it anywhere besides the car, you need to special order the adaptor. It will cost $19.95 for the adaptor and $5.95 to ship it.And it would take 2 4 weeks to arrive! This is ridiculous!I am sending mine back.Don't be fooled. If you want to use a mini fridge in a dorm room or office, THIS IS NOT THE PRODUCT FOR YOU!!

I should have listened to the first review that said there was no adapter, instead of the second review that implied there was one.I figured that since the power supply was even shown in one of the pictures, surely it was included.I consider this ad to be extremely deceptive, and far below Amazon's standards.

I was getting this fridge to replace one a lot like it that my wife loved until it stopped working. When this one got here (with the 12V car cord only), I discovered that there was no 12V power supply with it, so it was useless to her in her office. Now I need to pay another $26 for the power supply. In the meantime, I have figured out (by using the 12V cord in the car) that both fridges work, and it was a bad power supply all along. If we still had the box, I'd return this fridge.

Extern Fridge Filter for Sbs Fridge, Deluxe Inline Water Filter Cartridge Imported From Germany

Extern Fridge Filter for Sbs Fridge, Deluxe Inline Water Filter Cartridge Imported From Germany
  • Reduces odor and chlorine from ice makers and water dispensers
  • Reduces rust and sediment
  • Easy to install, push in fittings for use on 1/4" plastic tubing or copper pipe
  • Improves taste
  • Change every 6 month or 1,700 gallons

So far, ive given this product 5 stars because I installed it in less than 5 minutes. I live in an apartment with an old fridge that has an ice maker in it, BUT NO FILTER. I started noticing my ice was looking a little yellow, so I just knew there had to be some type of universal filter i could install on it, and I found this one.

First I ran some water through it to get the excess carbon out. I then pulled my fridge away from the wall and unplugged it. Then I removed the plastic 1/4" water line from the fridge and cut it about 6 inches from the end. I then pressed in the piece i cut on one side of the filter and pressed in the line from the wall into the other side of the filter. (Make sure you get the flow of water through the filter correct) Then i just plugged the short line into the fridge again and plugged the fridge back in. So far the ice looks significantly cleaner and its tastier.

I will update if anything goes bad.

P.S.

Everything on the packaging is in German. I cannot understand anything, thats how easy it is to install it.

Whynter IC-2L SNO 2-Quart Ice Cream Maker

Whynter IC-2L SNO 2-Quart Ice Cream MakerThe Whynter Sno is a fully contained 2 liter ice cream machine. It will both churn and freeze a mix to create:

Frozen Custard

Ice Cream

Ice Milk

Gelato

Sorbets

and even icy beverages (think Margaritas and the like.)

========

The Pros

========

It Works!

^^^^^^^^^

(Yes, this is a big deal. How would you like it if you plunked down $200 only to find your ice cream mix comes out soup or filled with chunky ice cubes?) This machine definitely gets the job done; It makes ice cream.

It is surprisingly quiet.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

While you wouldn't want to use it in a library, this machine is actually pretty quiet. Most of us who don't have any experience with an Ice Cream Machine can only relate to the beasts they have at the local Ice-Creameries (You know the ones: Buy One, Get One Free on certain days...) These industrial behemoths are LOUD. This machine (not being an industrial behemoth) is not loud. It **IS** louder than my refrigerator (barely,) but not quite as loud as my washing machine. It's NO WHERE NEAR AS LOUD as a Blender, Food Processor, or Stick Blender (if those are your only gauges of relevance.)

You can make your own concoctions.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Some local ice-creameries will make you a custom blend of ice cream. For example, if you want chocolate chips in some strawberry ice cream, they'll do that. (Probably not nationwide chains, but the local shop might.) But ask them to make anything crazier than that, and you're probably out of luck. Rosewater ice cream? Sorry. Green Tea ice cream? You're probably out of luck.

With this machine, you can make whatever flavors your heart desires, and that's pretty cool. (Just don't save me any Alligator Sherbet, ok?)

Ease of Use / Capacity.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This thing is EASY to use. For example, to make a simple vanilla ice cream, take 2 cups of half-and-half and POUR IT DIRECTLY INTO THE MACHINE'S MIXING BUCKET. DO LIKEWISE WITH 1/2 CUP OF SUGAR. Add a tablespoon of vanilla, and run the machine. About 45 minutes later, you'll have medium soft serve ice cream. NOTE that I do not say "Bring this mixture to a boil," nor do I say "Mix it," nor anything like that. In fact, when I tried this mix, I could even hear the churn running over the grains of sugar in the churning bowl. But, 45 minutes later, nothing but super-fine ice cream.

The other plus side is this machine's capacity. It's nice to be able to make a larger quantity of a mix if the mix is a bit more complicated (ie: a custard, which may require the incorporation of eggs, and possible cooking of the eggs.) This way, you can make a larger batch of mix, followed by a larger batch of ice cream.

========

The Cons

========

It's NOT dishwasher safe!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

While I won't say "Cleanup is hard," (there are really only 2 things to clean: the bowl and the beater,) you still can't just toss them into the top rack of your dishwasher to get the job done. You'll also need to wipe off the top plastic cover with a sponge, dishrag, etc... because it's permanently attached to the motor (which doesn't lend itself to easy cleaning.) The same thing holds true if your mix overflows the bowl and gets into the machine itself. (Don't worry, it's easy to clean, but again, you can't put the whole machine into your dishwasher [it's electrical, y'know,] so you'll have to clean it with a sponge or dishrag...) In other words, it would have been nicer if the freezing bowl (into which the mixing bowl sits,) the mixing bowl, the churn, and the plastic cover all been removable and dishwasher safe. They're not, but, to Whynter's credit, they are pretty easy to clean.

The label came off

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Petty? Yes. But it's an indicator as to the design of the machine. The label is a stiff label affixed to the rounded "tub" area of the machine. Had the machine been designed with a flat areat onto which the logo could be affixed, the label would still be there. (Mind you, this is "straight out of the box."

Little or No Documentation

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The documentation isn't bad (for what there is of it, but there aren't any recipes that come along with it. Also, there's no indicator as to the Maximum Fill Level of the Churn bucket. Overfill it, and you've got an ice cream that won't set properly, or have enough air mixed into it; or worse: ice cream base spilling into the freezing chamber. NOTE: You **CAN** go onto the website and download some recipes, but it would have been GREAT if they would have spent the extra $.38 and printed out some copies of at least a simple vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry mix recipe and thrown it into the box.

"Add-Ins" chute too small

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Do you like "Add-Ins" (ie: gelatin-based fruit-flavored candy animals and the like) in your ice cream? Well, you'll need to stop the machine, open the top, add the Add-Ins, then restart the churn (which, ideally, you'd wait 6 minutes for, since the compressor doesn't like to start and stop without a 6 minute breather.) The current model has a chute large enough for sprinkles and MAYBE very small cookie crumbs, but not chocolate chips. Again, not the worst thing in the world, but... hey! You know.

It can be slow

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This machine COULD conceivably turn out a batch of ice cream in 30 minutes, but that's only if the mix is nearly frozen to begin with (

Cuisinart CWC-3200 32-Bottle Private Reserve Wine Cellar

Cuisinart CWC-3200 32-Bottle Private Reserve Wine Cellar
  • 32-Bottle wine cellar
  • Thermoelectric cooling system -reduces noise and vibration and offers low energy consumption
  • Stainless finish and double-pane viewing window illuminated by soft interior lighting with on/off control
  • Electronic touchpad for precise temperature control with blue LED display
  • 8-Chrome contoured wine racks designed to hold 750ml or the option to remove a rack to hold 1500ml bottles

According to a yellow sheet of paper that came with the cooler, if there is a power outage, it will not restart automatically. This is not satisfactory. If there is a power outage one day after I leave for a summer vacation, I may come back to find all my wine has been cooked. I am thinking about ameliorating this problem with a backup battery With an extended outage that wouldn't work, but in my neighborhood they don't happen so far as I know.

The thermostat may be defective. I have had the cooler over a week now, and it has only gone off once, even though the temperature is below the thermostat setting and I have the cooler in a room that is at 66 degrees. Right now, for example, a thermometer I put inside the unit reads 52 degrees, the thermostat reads 55, yet the cooler is still running. I'll do some experimenting. Maybe the thermostat works but reads high and the unit needs to run almost continuously. If the problem persists, I guess I'll have to make a warranty claim.

I bought the unit primarily relying on the Cuisinart brand, hoping they would be good about quality control. But evidently not. And why they didn't design for the possibility of power outages is beyond me.

Unusually fat wine bottles will fit, since the shelves are adjustable. But unusually tall bottles won't. I put some in and then discovered they were keeping the door from closing tightly.

I give it three stars because it does in fact work, getting the wine to roughly the right temperature. The motor is quiet and the aesthetics are okay.

This is a very quiet unit; when it comes on there is only a small murmur. The shelves are adjustable, which is nice.I feel confident buying a Cuisinart product too.The only draw back is that if it is to hold 32 bottles, they have to be pretty skinny.Regular bottles and the wine bottles from my wine club take up more room so it only holds 24.Also, if you store champagne it will take up 3 places. But at least they are adjustable and good quality shelves.

This thermoelectric cooling technology in this product chills wines by 15 to 20 degrees below ambient temperature. It relies on having an environment with good ventilation, because the product works by creating a temperature potential and drawing warmer air out of the back of the unit through a combination of heat sinks and fans. The reason that this is cost efficient is that it it requires less energy than a big computer to operate the electronics and the fans.

This type of system is actually easy to service too. There are two parts that break: the thermoelectric unit and the fans. Neither is expensive to replace and (while it voids the warranty), any person able to use a soldering iron should be able to do it. Compare that to fixing a freon based system and it's clear that thermoelectric units can cost less over time if you have the skills and time to maintain them.

However, the operating environments where this type of unit will succeed are limited. If you always keep your home at 70 degrees or less, with little variance, then this unit can do well in it. Because of the way that the unit works, you can't place it in a 'warm spot' of your home. I experimented with several different placements and none work particularly well because the unit needs to be in an area with high ventilation and stable temperature (i.e. a basement of an air conditioned home) but the fans make too much noise for them not to be intrusive if you're watching TV or having a conversation. When you combine the ventilation and noise issues, the only environment that makes sense to place this unit is in a room that already houses your water heater, furnace, etc. I can't imagine putting it in a kitchen. A closet won't work (because the hot air rises in the closet and won't be flushed). And most other rooms in the house won't benefit from the addition of a noisy appliance.

Once you get past the limited range of placement options, the unit itself is not very good at temperature regulation. Setting the internal temperature of the unit to its low (39 degrees F) causes it to run continuously (in an air conditioned, high ventilation environment with an ambient operating temperature of 60 degrees or higher). Raising the internal temperature settingof the wine chiller to be 50 degrees placed it inside of it's 15 to 20 degree difference with the ambient air (in my case, 65 degrees) yet the internal temperature of the unit varied from 41 degrees to 61 degrees depending on the location inside of it (the top row is the warmest and the bottom row is the coolest). I measured the temperature variances over time using NIST certified Thermoworks data loggers with 1 bottle per shelf staggered on the diagonal.

An additional problem with the unit is capacity. The 32-bottle system has 8 shelves with nooks to store 4 bottles per shelf. I had to remove 1 shelf because most of the wine that I buy has bottles that are simply too wide to fit on a standard shelf layout. Then I adjusted all of the shelves to achieve the proper spacing. Additionally, wide bottles don't fit particularly well in a row, which can reduce the total number of bottles per row to 3. I alleviated this problem for some rows by alternative bottles stored with the bottoms toward the rear of the unit with bottles stored with their bottoms facing the front of the unit. This is awkward on the shelves but increases the storage capacity. The top shelf loses two bottle bays to the temperature adjustment electronics, so the total capacity is between 26 and 22 of the bottles that I actually own.

I mentioned earlier in the review that this unit is going to have service needs. The heat sinks and fans are going to get dirty (especially if you have pet hair in the air), which will cause chilling performance to degrade, and the fans and the thermoelectric coupler are going to fail every few years. The parts may even last 3 years, which is the warranty period for this device. However, the shipping costs to have this item fixed are more money that it would cost a knowledgable handy person to service themselves. If you are one of these people, I wouldn't bother with the warranty. If you are not one of these people, you should expect that this thing is going to break every few years and you will need to buy another one or be without it for a month or two while it is fixed. In this sense, I think standard freon cooling systems units can significantly outlast this device, but handy people can more easily fix this device than a freon cooling unit. It's a trade-off.

Given the 32 bottle wine chiller's cost and the cost of energy in the Seattle area, this kind of unit can be attractive (compared to the $200 low end wine chiller at Costco) if you have the right placement position in your home and you can handle the maintenance or replacement issues. Is it better than other thermoelectric wine refrigerators? I doubt it. The internal temperature variance is so large that it is difficult to imagine that it could be worse. The fans are probably better than the fans in the cheapest unit you can find, but the thermoelectric coupling components and heat sinks are standard parts used in every unit of this type.

In short, the cooler's temperature regulation seems to be pretty shoddy, and the customer service is useless at helping us determine if we just have a defective unit, or if it's within the design specifications.

Now, the long version. :) Our cooler is currently set to 56F, since we discovered the thermostat shuts off the cooling system when the internal temperature of the unit reaches 57.5F. Which is fine -I understand that there can be disagreement between consumer products that measure temperature. The issue here is that while the thermostat shuts off at 57.5 or so, it kicks in at 61F or so. This means that several times a day, the temperature in the cooler fluctuates by about 3.5 degrees. This stands in contrast to the alternative Whynter WC321-DD that we're trying out, which has dramatically smaller fluctuations (.5-1 degree), with more frequent but shorter activation of the cooling system.

We tried contacting Cuisinart's customer service to determine if this temperature fluctuation is within the design specification, but all we got was advice to move the unit away from walls as per the instructions (done already) and to keep the unit away from sources of heat (also already done). Not surprising since the number was for the general Cuisinart customer service line that undoubtedly handles most or all of their products' inquiries, but still less than helpful.

Additional notes:

The complaint that the unit has to be reset when the power goes out is correct. However, it is my understanding that many wine coolers do this. The Whynter unit we've compared it to does it. If you *really* care, buy a UPS (un-interruptible power supply).

The fans aren't terribly loud as far as fans and refrigeration units go. Our refrigerator in the kitchen is a decent bit louder than the wine cellar. However, the unit can definitely be heard if the room is quiet, and can be heard from adjoining rooms with the doors open. As a comparison, from about 20-30 feet away, the Cuisinart unit is still a bit louder than the mentioned Whynter unit with my head very close to the back, listening for fan noise. I'd call the Cuisinart's fan noise to be pretty middle of the road -nothing terribly loud, but nothing especially quiet. (of course, I think the Whynter unit is impressively quiet) Additionally, there are two fans on the Cuisinart unit that, on our unit, operate at slightly different speeds, resulting in what some people could find to be an obnoxious tone mismatch.

This cooler has the standard issue with larger pinot noir-style bottles. The top rack has additional space in which they fit, but the temperature controls rob you of the two in the middle, leaving you all of two slots. Skinnier pinot noir bottles will fit, although they'll rub against the rack above. If you care about the labels, you'll want to make sure that they go in with a glass surface to the top.

I received this model as a wedding gift about three years ago. It worked well for the first two years, then in amove, one of the "feet" broke.Contact with Cuisinart was futile. The never responded, nor was I able to find a replacement. This forced me to craft a replacement leg.Shortly after, the unit stopped cooling. Again, contact with Cuisinart was futile. No response at all. I am now looking for a replacement, as there are no service centers willing to even look at the unit.

I loved the size and the look, but the quality and support is non-existant.One of the other reviewers was spot on ih his assessment that this is a short lived device that is a throw away when it breaks.

I woke up one morning to a puddle in front of my fridge. "Did the kids drop some ice again?" I thought to myself. I opened up the freezer door and noticed the ice cubes were all gone. What the?!?!?! The fridge had power so it wasn't that. I opened up the refrigerator door and things appeared to be cold. Then I took a closer look in the freezer and everything was melted. NOOOOOOOO!!!!! The last thing I needed was to spend a grand on a new fridge. I'm not going down without a fight! So I got my socket set and ohm meter and opened the baby up. There were plenty of youtube videos that explained what to do and what to test for, and sure enough, it looked like the compressor relay switch was bad. I run down to my local appliance repair shop to get a new relay, but they didn't have any in stock and would take a day to get here! Unacceptable!!! So I immediately fired up my Amazon app on my phone, found the part, click 1-day overnight shipping for $3.99, (for Amazon Prime members) and still saved $20 from what the repair shop would have charged me.

The next day I get the part, install it, and my fridge is happy again. And therefore I am happy again. Once again Amazon saves the day.

I had a Kitchen Aid countertop wine cooler which lasted less than one year. After researching all of the top selling 8+ bottle countertop versions, I purchased the Vinotemp from Costco. It lasted 18 months and stopped chilling. Since I regularly cleaned the fan and vent; I contacted Vinotemp. As the previous review states, they recommended purchasing a new control board. I spent $45 for the board including shipping and installed only to have the entire unit fail to reach any temperature below 79 degrees. It is my understanding that countertop coolers typically last 12-24 months due to the built-in obsolescence of the cooling units. I would not buy this size again and suggest investing in the built-in.

It will work reasonably well for about 4 months to a year or so and then it will break and the company will do nothing to help you fix it, except offer to sell you an expensive replacement board that is just as defective as the one that just broke. Do a bit of research and do not buy this. I've had two of them after being able to return my first to Costco for a replacement. Second broke just like the first did. If you insist on buying this, you will be replacing it every year.

Received this wine cooler as a wedding gift within 2 years had same issues as others report and when contacted the company all they said was "you need to buy a replacement control board" and "we cannot guarantee this will solve the problem" which with shipping costs $45. I could purchase a better, more reliable unit for just over $100 and seems silly to replace a control board that is likely to once again break. I do not recommend this product.

I've had this for a few years now, didn't get it from Amazon but still felt compelled to write a review.

Like everyone else, my unit died on me about two years after I purchased it. I looked into options about fixing it and a new controller board (~$40) was one of them. However, on closer inspection of the controller board, it looked like one of the capacitors was busted (the end of it bubbles out). A little solder work and a new capacitor (~$2 total) and it was working as good as new! I've had it for a year and a half since then with no issues.

If you feel up to the task of fixing the unit and want to get it cheap, look for a broken one on craigslist.

Control board went bad. Called Vinotemp and purchased a replacement control board for $47 plus $15 for shipping (shipping is over priced). Replaced board and unit worked fine again for just over 30 days. Called Vinotemp again and they said there is no warranty on the control boards. Not worth trying to fix again. Poor quailty and customer service experience.

Whirlpool ED2KHAXVS 21.8 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy Star
  • Energy-saving technology saves you money
  • Built-in Sensors Inside Help Keep Conditions Cool and Your Food Fresh
  • Adjustable Storage Gives You Flexibility and Adaptability
  • ENERGY STAR(R) Qualified
  • In-Door-Ice(R) ice dispensing system

When I first purchased the Whirlpool side-by-side I thought this was a great fridge and for the first 16 months it functioned fine. Then of all days on April 1st (I know April fool) the refrigerator simply stopped cooling and I could hear the compressor engage and run for a brief period and then turn off.Service confirmed my worst fears that the compressor did indeed fail and would have to be replaced at a cost of $600.

THE WARANTEE FROM WHIRLPOOL IS ONLY FOR ONE-YEAR ON ALL PARTS INCLUDING THE COMPRESSOR so I basically have a worthless box.Calls to Whirlpool simply result in meaningless apologies with the response they will do nothing to rectify the problem. If you check the warantee from other manufacturers such as LG or Samsung you will find that the "sealed cooling system" is guaranteed at least 5 years.

My advice is to stay away from Whirlpool for they will not back their product. And remember they also make Maytag and Amana. And this is from a long time Whirlpool customer.

In this price range, I don't think you will find another fridge with all these features, and with stainless steel. The few reviews you will find, are mostly positive. If you look hard enough, you can find some bad reviews, which are mostly true. One, I found the fridge to be noisy, UNTIL, I trouble shot it one night and found out the annoying buzzing sound that came on when the condenser fan came on, was due to a vibration on the back panel near the floor, rather than a noisy fan motor.I should pull it away from the wall, and look for the vibrating part, but I just carefully wedged a small wood shim(2 wooden close line pins without the spring) underneath the bottom bar on the back of the fridge. NOW IT IS QUIT..

Another negative you will see, is an ice maker that clogs and is troublesome.Especially when going from cubed to crushed ice.I didn't find this, but I did find an occasional issue that sometimes when I go for a cup of ice, it doesn't dispense ice at first, and I have to remove my glass, and reapply. This always works fine. One thing I do notice fairly regularly, is that you sometimes get a 1/4 cup of water out of the ice dispensor before it dispenses ice.

Fit and finish, is an issue, but not for me.The right door is a 1/4 inch higher than the left, and so is the handle, but I don't really mind that.

Another issue I found is a complaint about the vegatable bins not being on rollers and hard to move. They aren't on rollers, but I haven't had an issue with them. One issue I did notice however, is that if you have something heavy on the shelf in the middle, say a large gallon or more of apple cider, the shelf tends to bow slightly.

Altogether, if the fridge lasts.I will be happy with my purchase. If the ice maker jams, I am confident in my abilities to fix it.The whole contraption comes out, which is handy. If it clogs, take it out, and let it thaw out on the counter.

If you find it is noisy(a buzzing sound) pull it out from the wall, and while the compressor runs, move your finger around on the card board on the back to see if you can isolate the sound.

Good luck!

Mark :)

Have had this for about three years, and not an operational problem in that time. At the time it was the only fridge that would fit in the opening of the older home we purchased. Yes, the freezer side is somewhat narrow, but there's still quite a bit of space. Things I like that aren't on all (even more expensive) units: separate paddles for water and ice, and the ability to leave on the water cavity light (two brightness settings). When I come out in the middle of the night half-asleep it's nice not to have to change settings like on some single-paddle units. Also the water filter is a snap to change and located out in the open, as opposed to some fridges having them inside where you have to remove food to get at it.

Realistically you could spend 2-3x's (or more) on a fridge. For what this costs it's a nice unit. We have called Whirlpool before for service (for Kitchenaid products, not this) and their service has been top-notch, unlike Samsung.

Want

PROS:

Ice maker in door

Fast Ice maker

Ample room in refrigerator section

Slide out, adjustable shelves in refrigerator

Ice bin easy to remove

Cons:

Bottom door hinges are exposed and are unsightly (I did not notice this in the store).

Bins are cheaply made and hard to move (no rollers). I put a small amount of salad oil on sliders which helped.

Very poor manual. I replaced a Whirlpool refrigerator and had to use the manual that came with that one.

The door handles are poorly constructed with a gap between the handles and the caps.

From my wife Sarah: We've had this for a couple years, and here are a few pros and cons:

Pros:

We haven't found it to be at all noisy as some of the other posters have mentioned. It's very quiet.

It does a good job of cooling consistently throughout the unit. Our last refrigerator froze food in some areas of the refrigerator section, and didn't keep some areas cool enough. This unit does not have this issue.

We like the water and ice dispenser. You can have cubes, crushed ice, or ice cold water. We like that there's a water filter built in to the unit, and it is easy to change.

The design is convenient and spaced out nicely.

It's run smoothly with no issues at all.

We find it to be nice looking.

Cons:

The drawers are flimsy. One draw continually gets stuck and it's hard to open and close. It actually cracked because it was sticking.

So the pros are stronger then the cons by far, and based on our experience, I'd say that it's a decent choice for the money.

15" Built-In Wine Cooler

15' Built-In Wine CoolerI just received this wine cooler for a small bar I'm building for my basement.I purchased it with the matching beverage center and was very impressed initially with the build quality. It looks amazing and stores a lot of wine (33 bottles) even though it's only 15" wide. The only negative thing (why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that of the 7 shelves only the top one holds larger wine bottles, but it does hold 5 of them. I will update this review once I install and use it for a few months.

Green Filter for Kenmore 9990 NSF Certified Refrigerator Water Filter, Certif...

Green Filter for Kenmore 9990 NSF Certified Refrigerator Water Filter, Certif...I bought this product hoping to save a few bucks, go green, and also because my local Sears was out of stock of my particular filter.I followed the instructions, including the instruction to soak the filter in water for 15-20 mins before installing which seemed extremely odd to me.

I found that the filter did not "easily" install, took quite a bit more effort than the standard Sears/Kenmore brand filter.Thankfully I did not damage my refridgerator.

As you normally would (to release trapped air), I ran water through the system after installing the new filter and was not happy to find that the water coming out of my fridge was black!I ran approximately 1+ gallons of water through the system and the color of the water lightened up a bit, but was still a very dark color.Needless to say, I removed the filter and reinstalled the previous Kenmore brand filter, ran a few gallons throught the system and was happy to see the water color return to normal.

One positive aspect of this entire ordeal was the return process.DeepDiscountsco had no issues accepting the return and refunded the full amount I originally paid. They also refunded my return shipping.Gave the extra 2nd star as a credit to their very friendly returns people.

I bought this based soley on price. While it states compatable with 9990 style filters, this does not fit in my fridge, and while installing, damaged the receiver, requiring an visit from the repairman.I thought I was going to save some money.I shall only buy these parts from the Sears store from now on.

I found the filter every bit as good as the more expensive unit sold by Sears and much more economical!

The design is the same as the more expensive one and it lasts just as long!!

This container was installed via instructions given by the manufacturer. My whole family noticed a plastic taste in the water, which wasn't noticed until after this device was installed.Stick with the carbon filters if you enjoy drinking good quailty water. This device didn't work for me!I should have returned item for a refund.
