I bought this fridge short notice when a defrosting attempt rendered my last beer fridge inoperable, and I felt a little pressured to hit the Go button on it as my tasty 12oz's of Heaven slowly warmed.But I must say I'm not disappointed at all!It's a great size, looks fantastic, isn't as heavy as I thought it would be, is very quiet, and keeps more than 60 bottles of Sam Adams ice cold and within arms reach with room to spare!My original fridge was a Kenmore job, with a pathetic waste-of-space freezer section (which this does not have) that for some unknown reason Sears saw fit to make the freezer floor out of the cooling element.So of course it iced up like you read about, and I, like many a man before me, took the task of removing this ice seriously (it was encroaching on my beer space as it grew!)...and pulled out my trusty, and ridiculously pointy, pocket knife.So after a bath of freon, or what ever the hell they're using these days to cool, washed over me with a snake-like hiss, I proceeded to slam the door and muscle the fridge out to the driveway where it still sits.Luckily my beer supply was low (it pains me to admit this), so I only needed to commandeer a single shelf in the practically useless "food" fridge as the wife calls it.But knowing this arrangement wouldn't last, I needed a new fridge, and fast.So I bit the bullet after reading a few whiny reviews about ridiculously trivial issues (like not getting cool enough, or damaged in shipping; neither of which plague(d) my unit), even springing for the $4 overnight option (Thank you PRIME!), and couldn't be happier.My pregnant wife likes it so much she's decided to throw caution to the wind and resume drinking.Who could resist pulling a frosty beverage from this bad boy and tossing it back at the end of a hard day?Not this guy!And this fridge delivers with style.Only thing I can think of as a drawback is it doesn't keep the ice frozen, but then, giving up room in it for ice when it could be holding more beer is just ludicrous.This scenario actually makes me shudder to consider.

Summary?Kick-ass fridge for the money and if you have Prime, pay the $4 to overnight it just so you can tell your friends you overnighted a FRIDGE for FOUR FREAKING DOLLARS.Then slam back a cold one for emphasis.

We purchased this refrigerator for our outside entertainment bar because of its size and energy efficiency rating.So far we are very satisfied.It is a quiet and maintains internal temperature keeping everything nice and cold.There are plenty of shelving options as they are all adjustable.The door has 10 can holder slots for beer or soda and also has adjustable shelves for bottles of soda or wine.There is a drawer on the bottom perfect for storing garnishes, cheeses or meats.There is plenty of room in the rest of the fridge to fill as you please.The door really is spot resistent, we are not constantly cleaning it!This was a great purchase; we highly recommend this item.

I had my Danby less than 24 hours before the problems started.I had the thermostat set at slightly more than half (probably 6/10) for the first night it was in use.The next day, I discovered that all of my 6 (expensive!) bottled beers on the bottom shelf (above crisper drawer) had frozen, and 3 of them had burst causing beer to go everywhere!Checked the rest of the beverages in the fridge to see if they were also close to bursting, but found those in the middle & top shelves not even beginning to freeze.

After this fiasco, I set the thermostat to about a third of the way up (probably 3/10) so as not to have a repeat incident.After another 6 hours, the stuff on the bottom did not freeze, but was very cold (great!).However, the items on the top shelf were barely even cool to the touch (not great).I proceeded to do a little test with a refrigeration thermometer leaving the thermostat at about one-third.After 30 minutes, the bottom shelf read 37 degrees.I moved it to the top shelf and waited another 30 minutes, and found it showing 54 degrees!A 17 degree difference between top and bottom!!!Not to mention that 37 degrees is WAY too cold especially when the thermostat dial is set so low.

So it seems that I am experiencing the same inconsistent cooling that at least 2 other reviewers are having.Amazon was great about setting up a replacement delivery & pickup.I am willing to try a replacement before calling this fridge a total failure.The replacement is set to arrive tomorrow, so I'll post an update in a few days.Wish me luck!

UPDATE:Received a replacement, and it had the same EXACT issue!!!Started it off with the thermostat at the midway point (most manufacturers recommend this setting), and placed identical thermometers on the top and bottom shelves.After one hour, the top read 55 degrees, and the bottom was at 30!!!!I am willing to accept a few degrees difference, maybe even as much as 6 or 7 tops, but 15 degrees is ridiculous.I would have to accept the top being at nearly 60 just to keep the lower half above freezing.Am sending this one back also (UPS is gonna hate me tomorrow), and am getting the Haier 4.5cu ft one instead.Fingers crossed...

Bought this to put in our casita for house guests. It was one of the few compact refrigerators we found that was frost free. It runs very quietly and chills very well. My only complaint is we wanted to reverse the door opening but no matter how much I fiddled with it we could not get the door to seal properly. When it opened from the opposite side the door would sag and the seal would not line up. I tried using a stack of washers and tried adjusting it every imaginable way to no avail. We wound up having the door open from the original side which required us to put the refrigerator in a different location.

I received unit in great shape no holes in box i though great but plugged unit in after the 2 hour wait and nothing tried different sockets still nothing compressor did not come on. so back it goes. Amazon was very helpful they are going the extra mile picking this large unit up at my house without pickup charge will get another in couple days. I will see how it works. UPDATE received second unit today waited 2 hours to plug in still no cooling called up danby sayed probably no freon in unit I sayed twice now unit ismade in China. so Amazon picking up another one. next one will be delivered Saturday or Monday let you know how it turns out third unit no freon it will go back also nect one i going to get a different brand

This is a really terrific wine cooler plus was delivered before I hit Send to buy it. We have had it for four months and it works very well. The only flaw is that the temps at which the two compartments are set are a few degrees different than the ones that display on the thermometer we bought. However, this doesn't matter as once you learn the temps to set the compartments at to achieve the temps you want, they remain consistent. I suggest waiting for a couple of days before fine turning the temperatures so the thermostatic system can relax after its long journey to your home.

I did an exhaustive search to find a good cooler. Due to the nature of the mass of reviews I read on several websites, this was the only one deemed worth trying.

Let me start off by saying I hate the taste of municipal water.The chlorine and other tastes make in virtually undrinkable.That's where this filter comes in.

For me, the bad news is that I can't stand forking voer $40 to Sears for the privelige of screwing one of these into the filter port of my refrigerator.In my area, these filters are for some reason difficult to find in Big Box stores.I am not sure why.I have taken a chance before on no-name, unbranded filters from the internet and had good results.However, when I saw these OEM filters at a competitive price, I jumped and have not been disappointed.The water that is filtered through them tastes good (no chlorine or mineral tastes) and there are no leaks--they do precisely what inline water filters are supposed to do.

We've had this cooler for about two years now and it has performed wonderfully.

It does produce a noticeable noise when running, so I don't think it's suitable for use in a common area. At first we had it near our entertainment area, but the noise it made while running became annoying during cards, conversation or while watching TV. It does not accommodate larger bottles, so some of the taller bottles will have to find a home elsewhere.

Just received my Silent 12 Wine Refrigerator and for the most part I am very pleased. Solid, good size, runs quietly and well priced. My only complaint is that not all wine bottles fit into it. Take for example KendallJackson's Chardonnay. The bottom circumference is too big to fit. The only way it can fit in is if you take out the middle shelf. Not a big issue, but something for Wine Enthusiast's engineers to consider. To solve the problem I simple drank that bottle first. Other than that I think the Refrigerator is great. George SNYC

We've had this running for a couple of months now. Runs like a champ. Silent, cools to the target temp quickly, light is actually bright enough to be useful. As noted in the description, larger-diameter bottles don't fit easily on the racks. This is our 3rd wine fridge, and that was the case for all 3. My approach with this Wine Enthusiast model was simply to remove the bottom wire shelf (no need for tools -just pull it out and stow it in a drawer). That allows you to fit four big bottles on the bottom row easily, allowing you to still have a total of up to 12 bottles in the fridge. If you want to cool more than 4 big bottles simultaneously, only then will you need to pull an additional wire shelf.

I ordered this product even though some reviewers had bad luck.I've owned several wine fridges and have only had bad luck with a really cheap Emerson that I bought at Target.This model was delivered within 4 days of my order.It was packaged well in strong cardboard and styrofoam...no dents or damage at all.We left it in the packaging for several days to let it settle, then carefully removed it from the packaging and placed it on the kitchen counter.It requires 1 inch space on all sides but that's not a problem with standard counter tops.We put it by the fridge so that it doesn't look out of place.I had no difficulty fitting my reds and whites in it using the 3 metal shelves everything fit with the bottle top facing forward and no labels were damaged.

It looks very nice and runs so quietly I can't hear it at all.It took about 8 hours to reach the temperature I set (54) and it has stayed on that temp without interruption for the 10 days we've had it.(I have not put a secondary thermometer inside to see if it's precisely at this temp, but for my casual wine collecting purpose, it's just fine if it's a couple of degrees above or below.)

I'd recommend.It was a good price and works well as an alternative to a built-in unit.

Almost 10 year old Whirlpool Duet gas dryer stopped drying our clothes! Thought we'd have to buy a new one. Hubby said, "Google the problem first." Very glad I did. I have an older Kenmore (Whirlpool) EvenHeat dryer that was finishing the cycle before the clothes were dry.I replaced this little part and I was golden!It does look different than the older black part with some sort of glass and copper looking protrusion vs. the white bump on this one.I acccidentally replaced the thermal fuse next to it at first and was disappointed the "thermistor" repair I thought I did didn't actually fix the problem. We had the same problem with the water line freezing inside the freezer door. I determined this myself after reading all the instructions for diagnosing this problem that are all over the internet. Apparently this is a very common problem, stemming from not enough insulation between the water line and the interior panel of the freezer door. From my reading, I understand that GE's original solution was to send out a new, updated, freezer door for free, and cover the cost of it's installation. This was an expensive solution for them, which led them to a simpler fix of adding this heating element to the surface near the water line. It resolves the problem at a much lower cost to GE. And it does work.

Our experience was a phone call to GE's Customer Relations # 8003861215, option 5. I explained to them our frequent freeze issue, the solution(this part), and the common occurrence of this problem among many many frig owners. They took the model and serial number from our unit, and determined it was initially installed way back in 2001. They offered to send a repair person to diagnose it for ninety-nine dollars at our expense, along with a discount on parts & labor for the repair. I told them I know the problem, as it is chronic among these refrigerators, I can fix it myself, and I just need the part. They then gave me the option of paying a discounted thirty dollars for it with a one year warranty, or sending it for free without one...I chose FREE!

The water dispenser on my GE refrigerator would freeze up every so often; sometimes after only a couple weeks and sometimes after a few months.What a crappy design by GE.Nonetheless, after searching around a bit on the self repair sites like f**ya I discovered this little baby.I was a bit intimidated at first because it's "electrical" but decided to take a chance.I'm glad I did.It's really a low voltage splice that snaps together.No wire nuts. No stripping wire.The install was very easy (maybe 30 minutes, and I took my time).It's been a few weeks and no more frozen water.The hardest part of the job was pulling off some of the trim work so I could get to the innards.Just pull up gently and it will come apart.

Arrived Promptly.

Installation was simple.The most difficult part was removing plastic trim piece, which became easy after I figured it out.Took approximately 10 minutes to install and reassemble the dispenser.

I wouldn't say the diagrams/instructions are extremely easy to interpret, but if you have some mechanical inclination, you should be able to figure it out.

So far have had the thing installed for a week with no freeze ups.Before installation, I would have to defrost the thing at least daily because it would freeze over night.Made the wife very happy to have filtered water again!

One tip to get it defrosted initially:Turn your freezer setting to 0 (off) and let it sit for an hour or two.Then hit the dispenser with a hair drier for about 10 15 minutes (not literally; I mean blow hot air on it).

Beware of the fine print.

I pulled it out to install it and noticed it said for Metal Liners only.Unfortunately, I have a plastic liner.I went online hoping to find someone who had tried it anyway, but couldn't.Don't all GE refrigerators have a plastic liner?

Anyway, I could see that it would fit fine, but I'm afraid to install it for fear that it will melt the plastic.

This product was relatively easy to install and it took me about 15 minutes.I knew it was the line freezing because I disconnect at the bottom of the fridge and tested the pump first.

The wire is self adhesive by the foil tape and fits right underneath the spout.I did not even have to defrost with a blow dryer, the next day all the ice in the tube melted away.

I also changed the flapper at the same time as I believe the combination of poor design and insulation for the spout and the air leakage from the ice dispenser were causing the problem.

I know it is fixed because it works great and I can feel the slight heat that is generated from the wire underneath the spout when I reach up in the device.

100% satisfied with the fix.Lot less than getting a new fridge.

BTW, I have a plastic liner and used the product anyway.I do not believe that it is getting hot enough to melt the plastic liner.It was my only option or get a new fridge.

Will update if I have any issues.Good for now.
