Part says Frigidaire but I found a parts directory/list on-line that says it is also used in Kenmore refrigerators. It was, in fact, a perfect replacement for the middle shelf of Kenmore refrigerator Model No. 253.64802400. Snaps in place. Couldn't be easier.

I purchased this for my Kenmore refrigerator, model number 253.7418240R.I just received the rack and it fits the middle door shelf perfectly.I found the model number for this rack on Sears direct parts site, but thought I would check Amazon to see if they had it.Searched the model number and found this, but was a little worried that it wouldn't fit as it is a Frigidaire part and I didn't see my Kenmore model number in the list of compatible refrigerators. It fits though, if you happen to be looking for this part for your Kenmore too.Given that this one fits, I'm assuming that the rack below will fit the upper and lower door shelves the model number I found on the Sears site also matches this as well if you're looking for both.

  • Maytag - MHW6000XG

This Maytag Maxima 6000 series washing machine is one incredible piece of hardware. Our clothes have never been cleaner and more wrinkle free.

Our 12 year old Maytag Neptune stacked washer / dryer died an ugly death two weeks ago. The washing machine stopped spinning, it could have been a control board, or a wax motor; but no it turned out to be the bearings. Why did I stick with Maytag on the replacement? 12 years, two service visits, and a machine that worked flawlessly for a first generation stacker front loader. I was pleased with the service.

The key points about this machine it is quiet (not dead silent, but it makes a good solid big heavy motor sounds), it has some sweet features, it looks cool, and it has a big wash drum. Until we got it home, I had no idea it washed clothes this well.

The following review was originally posted for the white version of this washing machine. There is no difference between these washers except for the exterior color.

There's two models in this Maytag Maxima line the 6000 and the 7000 series. The 7000 adds a few cycles, the steam power wash, a separate dispenser for OXI clean products, and an LED light inside the drum. At first I was kind of disappointed I didn't buy the 7000, hey I'm a guy and I love extra functions and the light inside the drum just seems so darn cool. Now that we have this 6000 model, I'm perfectly happy with the choice. There's about a $200 difference between the models. It's not clear how often we would use the steam (frankly, probably never). The light is way fun the first few days of playing with the machine, but long term, not so useful. Besides, the door is so huge and with the smoked glass, I can still see inside the machine. OXI clean dispenser well that would never be used, and the 6000 instructions describe how to mix it with the regular detergent.

The washing machine requires at least a 15Amp 110V circuit, cold and hot water, and a waste line. It's possible everybody knows this, or this is standard for a washing machine. Well for me this was a huge horrible surprise; our Neptune stacker used one 220V connection. I have to run a new 110V line to power this machine.

This machine looks pretty darn intimidating at first glance. The instruction manual is about twenty pages and is also somewhat intimidating. But never fear it is really super simple to operate. The big silver dial in the center, turn it to select the wash cycle. The black panel on the right displays approximately how soon the cycle will finish (sorry, it's a countdown timer). The three buttons at the bottom of the panel are used to over ride the wash / rinse temperature, the amount of wash time, and the spin speed. The buttons all the way to the right control convenience settings like tone at end of cycle, hold clothes, maximum extract, and extra rinses. One other minor control on the black panel this washer can delay start the cycle. There are two very simple + and buttons on that panel that set how many hours delay time.

On the far left is the detergent drawer. I love this part of the machine no more tossing the detergent in the bottom of the drum or going after hidden bleach or fabric softener reservoirs. Slide open the drawer on the left side to add the detergent. There is a setting for powder or liquid detergent. Basically the little switch moves a plastic stop up for powder (allowing freer flow of water to add detergent during the fill cycle) or down for liquid (restricting the flow so the liquid won't immediately flow out and assuring the liquid gets mixed properly with the water). To the right are fabric softener and bleach reservoirs. The machine is super smart, at the right moment during the wash and rinse cycles it forces water through the correct reservoir to deliver the product. The drawer can be removed easily for washing (at some point mildew could grow in the softener side a huge problem in our old Maytag). It is not dishwasher safe.

How to use this beauty? Load the clothes. Select the cycle and adjust options (when the silver dial is turned the machine automatically powers up, no need to monkey with the power button). Add detergent. Close the drawer, and press the start button. The count down timer gives an estimate for how soon the load will be finished. The instruction are specific that this is an estimate the cycle could take more time due to unbalanced loads or too much foam from the detergent.

There is a red Add Clothes illuminated on the panel when there is still time to press the play button to pause the machine and toss in a few forgotten items.

There are enough cycles on this machine to make everybody happy. Two pages of the instruction manual are devoted to the finer points of each cycle, and how full the drum should be. There are a few highlights in the world of cycles. There is a power clean cycle, which actually heats the water of the final rinse enough to meet NSF standards for killing bacteria and allergens. There is a swimsuit cycle that simply rinses and spins the load, in addition to a spin only cycle. The normal cycle is preset to last 56 minutes and does warm wash with warm rinse. The hold setting is interesting. If this option is selected, when the cycle is finished, the machine tumbles the clothes frequently, and blows air into the drum to keep clothes from wrinkling.

Fabric softener isn't added until the very last rinse, no matter which cycle or extra rinse was selected. Bleach is added at the first rinse.

There is some kind of tie in with Affresh cleaner; the machine has a clean Affresh cycle. After a certain number of cycles, a clean light will illuminate. At this time the machine is asking for a clean cycle a 45 minute cycle where no clothes can be in the machine and add either an Affresh tablet or bleach to the bleach dispenser. I understand there were so many complaints of mildew growing in these front-loading washers; Maytag has decided to take a proactive approach to eliminating the problem. I've used Affresh in our old machine and it does work well. At about $8 per three tablets, it's not a horribly expensive prophylactic.

Whirlpool W10135699 Affresh High Efficiency Washer Cleaner, 3-Tablets

Maytag does say to use HE (High Efficiency) detergent. There is some truth to foam causing early failure of the drum bearings regular detergent foams a lot more than HE and causes significant drag on the drum motor and bearing during the spin cycle. There is also some leaning toward powders over liquid detergent. If you love liquid, just pay attention to the detergent drawer to be certain no soap residue builds up, (it's easy enough to remove and wash).

The drum is beautiful (yes I love mechanical things) stainless steel. There are no big bumps in the drum to hold socks or other clothes up at the top of the drum. The drum is huge. A set of queen sheets and pillowcases only fill the thing halfway (that used to almost fill the old Neptune).

This is a flexible machine for installation. Since all the controls are on the front panel, there is a ton of ways to install this machine. Standing all by itself, the top is a great place to sort clothes or fold after they are dried. If the 6000 series dryer is used side by side, the two machines make for a great space to work. There is also an option to place a shelf over the top of the two machines. The machine can be installed under a counter just like a dishwasher. There is a stacking kit to put the dryer on top (when the dryer arrives, that's the configuration we are using). There are specifications for putting this in a closed closet (upper and lower vents are required in the door).

There are three colors white, red, and dark gray / silver. I went with basic white, it was available. The red is actually pretty darn cool looking; it is a nice deep red, and honestly not far off from Ferrari red. The gray / silver is pleasant.

How long will this machine last? I hope somewhere near what the previous machine did. The machine comes with a one year full parts / labor warranty. There's a five-year warranty on a few of the major parts, including that moist fan thing. And finally ten years on the drum and big stuff. After one year no labor is covered. There is the crime, the parts are expensive, but the labor to install them will probably still be out of sight (read, just replace the thing if the bearings go out). I would guess Consumer Reports has an opinion on this machine, and Maytag in general. It's impossible to tell what Maytag did with the electronics. I hope they learned their lesson with the Neptune series and have built robust controls.

I love this machine. Our clothes are super clean and they come out of the washer well wrung out to shorten the drying cycle. Pictures don't do this justice. It is a very pretty machine. It looks a little like the Jetsons go ahold of it.

I was initially drawn to this machine by it's looks, but bought it for ease of use.Samsung and LG consistently get high marks but in everyday use they drive me nuts. For those not familiar with the Asian design aesthetic, it basically goes like this:More buttons + more blinking lights + more beeping noises = more better.Well, in the words of Stan Marsh, "I thought this was America!"It is, Stan, and this one is actually made in America too.

The controls are simple, just go from left to right.Set the mode, modify the default settings if you want, throw in some bonuses (like extra rinse), and press play.I did not really need to read the instructions to figure it out, and the silly noises can be turned off.Another nice feature is the design of the soap tray. The whole tray gets rinsed, and that prevents old soap/bleach/softener from building up.

A major reason for the increased efficiency of front loaders is the faster spin cycle that extracts more water and shortens the drying time. This one actually spins fast enough to completely dry some items like polyester. While this washer is quiet I can hear it switching cycles, although it makes up for that by not whistling a tune every few minutes like some others. The biggest knock I have is that there is no "quick wash" mode, the closest thing is the "small loads" mode that takes 44 mins.Normal modes take a typical 1 to 2 hours, and the dryer is always left waiting.

If you are buying this as a set like I did, the features of the washer and dryer to not really match up.Unlike the 6000 dryer, this washer DOES NOT have a steam cycle and interior light, you will need to step up to the 7000 for that (you also get more wash modes). Also, unlike the dryer this washer DOES come with all of the required connectors (4' hot and cold water lines, and a drain line).

Great Northern Polar Cube Arctic Master White Portable Ice Maker

Great Northern Polar Cube Arctic Master White Portable Ice Maker
  • 2 ice cube size selections
  • 1.5 lbs ice storage capacity
  • 2.2L water tank capacity
  • Freestanding application
  • No drain required

It's an ice maker, it is NOT a freezer unit.Don't be mistaken, it makes great ice, makes it quickly, is a bit noisy, but it does its job, keeps doing it and makes good ice.

Apparently some people expect this to also keep it frozen besides making it...it does not, and at this price, it shouldn't be expected to.

However, if you use a lot of ice like we do, it is a great little unit.

Water Sentinel WSL-1 Replacement Water Filters, 4-PACK

Water Sentinel WSL-1 Replacement Water Filters, 4-PACK
  • The filters are protected with a red sanitary end cap which is designed to ensure your products arrive safe, sound and in perfect condition.
  • Each filter includes a 6 gram package of o-ring lubricant known as DOW 111.
  • The compatible replacement filters are designed to give you similar or better performance than the original version they replace.
  • These filters are guaranteed to fit by the manufacturer and will provide clean, clear, great tasting water for you and your entire family.

I have been using Water Sentinel cartridges in my LG refrigerator for more than a year now. I am very happy with the results. The cartridges last about six months in our household but we like to use the water dispenser in the door of the refrigerator. If you just have an ice maker, I would expect you to get much more time out of each cartridge.

One benefit to having a water dispenser is that you can see for yourself when the cartridge needs to be replaced. The water quality never looks worse but the flow really decreases. There is all this talk about replacing the filters on a fixed time schedule. This doesn't make much sense to me since it seems that what should matter is how much water has flowed through the filter and the quality of your water going in (the dirtier the water, the faster the filter gets used up).

The cartridges fit the refrigerator properly and they include a little packet of silicone jelly to apply to the two rubber gaskets on the neck of the filter. I have always used the silicone just to be safe and I have not had any problems with leaks (something that would be pretty serious considering that the water is under pressure and would flow until you noticed the problem).

I have been told that all filters, no matter what the brand, are all the same -they are simply a plastic casing filled with charcoal. So I'm not sure why generic filters like the Water Sentinel are not cheaper (why the four stars). How much could they cost to make? But compared to the name brand filter that came with my fridge, the Water Sentinel is a very good deal.

I have found that 4-packs of this product are where you will get your best price point. Buying one at time doesn't make much sense, especially when you factor in the shipping cost.

No reason to pay the outlandish price that Sears wants for this filter! This 4-pack costs about the same as one filter from Sears, and works just as well.

Frigidaire PureSource WFCB Water Filter

Frigidaire PureSource WFCB Water Filter
  • Fits most Frigidaire refrigerators made before 2001
  • Replaces Frigidaire part numbers 5303917752, RF-200, RC200, RC-200, RC-101 and Sears Kenmore 46-9906
  • Should be replaced every 6 months

We did not receive the product advertised.

The advertisement states you will receive a "Frigidaire PureSourcePlus Ice & Water Filter (WFCB, 46-9906)". The product did not come in a Frigidaire PureSourcePlus package...just plastic wrap. I installed the filter and the water came out jet black. I ordered two of them so I tried the second filter, and the water was jet black again. This has never happened with Frigidaire filter.

I checked the invoice and it said they are Frigidair WFCB/RC-200 "Compatible" Replacement Regrigeragor Water Filters. If the company is selling a "compatible" filter, and not the manufacturer's filter why does the Amazon site describes and has a picture of the Frigidaire filter?

I e-mailed the company and they replied "Thank you for your order and email. From your description your new filters need to be flushed."

I ended up spending a lot more money and bought a Frigidaire filter but the water now does not taste the same.

This has been my worst online purchase experiences with Amazon.

In addition, while we did not request a refund the company subsequently wrote back and stated that they would credit our account since we were not happy with the purchase. While the company's customer service department was prompt and responsive, the Amazon website description should reflect the item being purchased in order to avoid confusion.

This is not a Frigidaire filter.I asked waterfilteronline and amazon to stop selling this item as a Frigidaire filter. Not only does the picture show a Frigidaire box but the description of the filter states Frigidaire. The filter I ordered did not come in a box nor did it have any certification stamp. These filters will fit in your refrigerator, if you are willing to risk your families health on an unknown manufacturer. In Waterfiltersonline's response, they claim that they have sold thousands of these without any problems.Waterfiltersonline did promptly refund my money but have not stopped selling off brand filters as the real deal and have not removed the picture of the filter that they do not ship.

Item is not a Frigidaire brand filter, as was advertised. At least the receipt acknowledges that it's a "compatible" replacement. It wouldn't be so bad if they had been honest about it.I probably would have bought it anyway. But I resent being deceived.

When you buy this item, make sure you are buying directly from Amazon and not another seller. The filter actually sold by Amazon is the genuine Frigidaire filter and comes in it's proper box.The other sellers are selling knock off filters that may or may not work.

If it says it's being sold by someone other than Amazon, look under the More Buying Choices and select the one from Amazon.com.Amazon will usually choose the cheapest seller for you by default, but in this case, that is NOT what you want. The bad reviews on this item are from people who ended up with knock off filters from non-Amazon sellers.

The advertising and picture are misleading. This is NOT an OEM Frigidaire WFCB as pictured. It is an after-market filter. No idea as to the quality, as there are no ratings on the package. The water quality is important to me or why would I be buying a filter at all. Also, as another customer stated, the water initially comes out black. May just be carbon residue? but I have never seen another filter do that.

In fairness, the seller issued a full refund with no hassle, but the purchase was a complete waste of my time due to Amazon allowing this to be advertised in this manner.

Even worse, after bringing this to an Amazon rep's attention several months ago, they have done NOTHING to change the seller's listing.

Amazon please GET WITH IT, listen to your customer feedback and either correct or REMOVE this item!!!

12 Bottle Thermoelectric Wine Cooler

12 Bottle Thermoelectric Wine Cooler
  • Quiet & vibration free thermoelectric cooling system
  • Digital temperature display
  • Compact storage for 12 bottles of wine
  • LED interior lighting
  • 3 chrome plated pull out shelves

After a lot of research I decided on the New Air AW-121E 12 bottle wine cooler. There are a lot of coolers out on the market and most of them have reputations for poor performance. New Air seemed to have the highest ratings so I went with it. The third party seller Air & Water Inc is great. Free ground shipping was a nice touch, shipped very fast. Now for the cooler:

Installation was pretty simple, plug it in and screw on the door handle. The screws on the handle are fine, but the holes are not perfectly designed for them to be screwed in by hand (unless you're really strong) but they went in smoothly with an electric drill. I turned on the cooler and set it to my desired temperature 60 degrees F to keep red wine. Some bottles actually suggest what temperature to store the particular wine at. If you're not sure, just ask at you're local wine shop and they'll be happy to tell you.

It took about two hours for the cooler to get to the temperature I set and I confirmed it with a thermometer (impressive since it started at 85 degrees). The machine itself makes no real noise. If you listen really hard and there are no other sounds in the room you might hear a slight hiss of the fan, but you really have to try to hear it. This thing is quieter then my 20x more expensive regular fridge/freezer. I have yet to find a 750ml bottle of red that does not fit. Some of the fatter bottles stick in the shelf a bit and fit better on the bottom. Since I bought it for red wine its not really a concern, but it probably would not fit champagne both in girth and length of bottle. I haven't tried it, so I can't be sure. You might be able to fit one at the bottom at an angle. The stainless steel looks very nice and the blue LED is a cool feature. Overall if you are looking to store 12 regular sized bottles of red or white, you can't get a better product for the money. Not sure on the longevity, but New-Air seems to have a reputation for lasting a good long while.

Pros:

Excellent price

Easy Set Up

Silent Running

Attractive Look, LED for nice presentation

Great for a Small Wine Collection

Cons:

Will not accomodate super fat or long bottles

Three shelves so the last three bottles just sit on the bottom, I'm fine with this, but it might bother others.

Update

I have had this cooler for about 4 months now and I absolutely love it. So much so that I bought a second one to store my growing collection of white wines. They look very nice next to each other. It took a little longer to get down to the temperature I wanted (51 degrees), about 8 hours which was still impressive as the room was around 80 degrees. Two of these is cheaper then one of those dual zone fridges, and they also work a lot better. They make a little noise (a faint fan sound) the first day when they're cooling down, after that they are still just as silent as before. Also, regular sized 750ml champagne bottles do fit, an added bonus.

Buy 12 Bottle Thermoelectric Wine Cooler Now

I've had this cooler running in a room with an ambient temperature of 68 72F for 24 hours now, and I'm just about to switch it off and return it because of its noise level.

Initially I set it to its lowest temperature setting of 50F, which it reached in about 8 hours with 10 room-temperature bottles in it. Its fan was running continuously for that period, but that wasn't unexpected. I left the cooler at that setting overnight to let it stabilize. In the morning the fan was still running continuously. No problem, as I intended to run the cooler at 54F anyway. When I reset the temperature to 54F the fan switched off for several minutes, but after that it kicked in and out every minute or so. Out of curiosity I reset the temperature to 60F and got the same result the fan switched off for several minutes and the temperature drifted up (quite quickly), but once it reached 60F it cycled on and off repeatedly. It's currently running for about a minute, switching off for about 30 seconds, then switching on again for a minute, in a 72F room with the cooler set to 60F.

Now, if the fan was silent or nearly so then that wouldn't be a problem, but sadly that it isn't the case. Maybe this cooler is faulty, but the fan makes a fairly loud and penetrating buzzing sound when it's running, with the speed spooling up and down as it switches on and off. The noise level is comparable to that from noisy fans on a PC, but because it's a buzz that rises and falls and switches on and off repeatedly it's hard to ignore or get used to, and it's audible from adjacent rooms.

Two other reviewers said that the noise level on their coolers was minimal while another said that the fan was quite noisy, so this might be something that varies from one cooler to the next. I don't think anyone would describe the buzz I'm getting from this one as minimal though.

Anyway, back it goes.

UPDATE

Within an hour or so of contacting Amazon to return this item I received a call from the vendor (Air & Water) to ask if I wanted a refund or a replacement. I talked it over with them for several minutes before deciding on a refund, and shortly after that I received an e-mail with a link to print out a FedEx return label at their cost. So, although the cooler didn't meet my needs I'm very happy with the service from Air & Water.

Been running for quite a few months now.Great wine cooler but to get 4 or 5 stars it will need the following:1.Better spacing of the racks. Some bottles are difficult to get in an out because the shelves are too close together.2. Figure out how to make it a bit quieter. Just a constant hum that is louder than I think a unit designed to be out on a counter should be.
