LG DLGX2651 7.3 Cu. Ft. Ultra Large Capacity Gas SteamDryer with Dual LED Displays, Wild Cherry Red

LG DLGX2651 7.3 Cu. Ft. Ultra Large Capacity Gas SteamDryer with Dual LED Displays, Wild Cherry Red
  • 7.3 cu ft Ultra Large Capacity

I purchased this dryer from Home Depot and it works fine overall. One annoyance is that instead of a proper loud beep when it is done, it plays a little jingle which is very hard to hear unless you're in the same room. There is no way to change the volume or the jingle (except to turn it off entirely). It sort of defeats the point of a dryer which senses when it is done (rather than using a plain timer) if I can't hear when it finishes early. Dryers 30 years ago had no problem emitting a loud buzzer, but LG tried to get cute and it backfired.

Another minor issue is that, in most modes, you can't change the heat setting. So if I am using the default "cotton/normal" mode, it won't let me change the heat setting for that load from "medium".I can only do that from manual (timed) mode, and then I don't get the dryness sensing. When I'm in a real hurry, or when I'm washing very durable items, I'd like to be able to set the heat to high.

One thing to note is that this "white" dryer may not match the "white" of other brands. It doesn't match our Maytag washer, which is a more true white.

Update: I'm not sure if all the "not helpful" votes for my review are because people think my complaints are too petty or if I pissed off some LG dealer by giving only 3 stars.Shrug.

I have to put my 2 cents in. I sincerely wish I'd done more research before I bought this unit. Instead, I went to a local appliance store where I've done business for years. I bought a new fridge and freezer at the same time, and chose Frigidaire for both because of their so-called good reputation.

There was nothing wrong with our old freezer (25 years) other than it wasn't frost free, and my wife was tired of defrosting it, hence the new frost free unit.

The unit worked great. Couldn't be happier. Until.. after 5 months, my son was awakened to the alarm. It had quit working. Wasn't happy, but these things Do happen.Called the number on the freezer, and was told they'd send someone out. However, being as we live out in the country, they only send someone out once a week. Wasn't real happy about that but what can you do?

So the driver finally gets there days later, and diagnoses it needing the electronic control module. Which of course... he doesn't have on board; he'll have to order it. Not happy, but again, what can you do? So he orders it, has it shipped to our house. However, it will be another week before he can come back. Finally, the part comes and the tech is called, and we're back in business. An ordeal for sure, but at least that's over, right?

WRONG!Four months later, the unit dies again! And it's the same song and dance all over again. This time I question the tech about being a recurring problem with these models. He says they "Usually don't have a problem". Here's where the "fun" begins. He "tests?" the outlet it's plugged into. and claims it's faulty. Says the "Voltage in bleeding from the hot lead to the grounding wire".Interesting. Other than that being impossible (It would trip a breaker) I installed that outlet myself. It is a stand alone circuit to the box, and I am an electrician by trade. Nonetheless, I check over the circuit again, and no problem

Anyway, it was running again, but only two months left on the 12 month warranty. I called Frigidaire only to find out that they are now owned by Electrolux. Told them I've had 2 food losses and we both know this thing is going to die again. What are they willing to do about it? Nothing. Their response is basically, "It's warrantied for 12 months, and we've fixed it, so we've done all that's necessary."

The seller refuses to do anything about it either. Up till this point, I've been polite, but persistent, but the message is clear. We got your money; you're on your own.

A week before the warranty ran out, I called them again and said there was a problem again. Again, they called the tech, the tech called me, and said he'd have to make a service call again. I told him, "Look, we both know the problem is the control board. Can't you just order it now, and come when it arrives?" He reluctantly agrees and a few days later, I have another board. Mind you, the freezer hadn't actually quit... yet. But at least I now have a control board on hand.

Four months later, it dies yet again. This time I have a spare board on hand, so I don't have yet another food loss. (It only takes about 10 minutes to put the board in) I don't bother to call the tech out. If I had, I'd have suffered a food loss. As a precaution, I order ANOTHER control board to keep on hand ($55, plus shipping)

Last week, I had to put THAT one in.

So in closing, I've now had FIVE control boards in less than three years. I emailed Electrolux again, and asked if there was anything they would do about it. I received the form letter that basically said.. "If anything fails, it usually does it within the warranty period. after that we can't/ won't be responsible."

I'm looking for a RELIABLE freezer to replace this 3 yr old unit. Before I have to buy the SIXTH board for this freezer.

Potential buyers?Look elsewhere.

Not much to say, when i bought this I was concerned it would be poor quality and a problem. Not so far, its big, efficient and works great all at a low price. I have only had it a few months but so far so good, the big question is how long will it last!

Our Frigidaire died today ..after only a few short years.Lost tons of food including some great salmon and halibut a friend who had gone deep sea fishing had recently given us.Won't be buying another Frigidaire.

Our Frigidaire went belly up after only 3 years. We were told that the compressor failed. The repair man said it would be more cost effective to buy a new one.Lowe's can't help us and Frigidaire refers to the fact that they only supply a ONE year warranty.WOW.This is not what I call energy efficent or good for the enviornment.I'd rather have my parents 25 year old freezer that runs like a champ.I'll NEVER buy Frigidaire again!

I've seen a lot of posts about the same problem with this Frigidaire refrigerator door, making a "clunk" noise as the cams wear out.In our case, the upper cam completely broke. My first mistake was thinking that all I needed to do was replace that broken upper cam.Well, what actually happened was (1) the upper cam broke, (2) the lower cam also had worn badly, and (3) the metal shaft at the bottom had damaged & warped the triangle-shaped hole that the upper cam fits into.

So I ignorantly ordered just the upper cam; when it arrived and I installed it, it still clunked.I then guessed that the lower cam needed replacing after being worn improperly, so I ordered that.Still clunked.Realized the bracket with the triangle-shaped hole was not holding the upper cam securely, so I ordered and replaced that.Still clunks.

The moral of the story is that each part has been replaced and seems to be in order, but the damn door still clunks.I suspect it'll only be a matter of time before the upper cam breaks again, but I can't see any solution past the $60+ I've already spent trying to fix it.

Ok what more can you say?Just beware the two parts to the door cam is different. You can't tell from just the diagram.

There is the flat cam and the other cam with a barrel. The barrel cam goes into the door and the flat cam installs onto the bracket.Hey when you spend that much money on the two plastic parts, you should know what you're getting.

Magic Chef MCBR360S 3.6 Cubic Feet Refrigerator, Stainless

Magic Chef MCBR360S 3.6 Cubic Feet Refrigerator, Stainless
  • 3.6 cubic feet capacity
  • Manual defrost
  • Can dispenser
  • Adjustable Leveling Legs
  • Full range temperature control

The refrigerator keeps a steady temperature of 35 degrees with the dial on a setting of 5.7 is the max setting, and 1 is the minimum. The refrigerator increases temp by about 6-8 degrees if you open the door for a minute and add more products. But if you open the door just to take out a drink, the temperature stays steady.

I give this refrigerator a 3 because of the noise level. The first one i bought was so noisy that i had to bring it back.It made a buzzing sound, probably due to a loose screw or something mechanically wrong with the compressor.I got a new one, same exact model, and that annoying buzzing sound is gone, but you can definitely hear the compressor when it's on.It turns on for about 2 minutes, then shuts off for about 5 minutes. It repeats this cycle.

The noise doesn't bother me, but that's because i keep the refrigerator in a place where it doesn't need to be super quiet. This product does the job and even though i give it only 3 stars, i do recommend it.It fits quite a bit of food and drinks.A half-gallon carton of milk fits nicely in the bottom compartment.I keep this at work, and 4 employees can store their lunches in there, as well as drinks and some extras too.

When it worked, it worked. Whats to say, it keep things cold. Mine worked until it didn't, and it wasn't terribly long after I bought it that it died. The compressor gave, but fortunately (ha ha, he said bitterly) it was covered by the five year warranty.

Well, all I needed to do, according to the service representative, was to take it to the authorized service people, where they would fix it free of charge. Provided I paid the labor charges. (Huh?)

Well, finding the service center proved problematic I got a series of telephone numbers that were either a) always busy, or b) never answered.

It's been six months since the damned thing broke, and still it hasn't been resolved. Truthfully, I chose this brand because it looked nice, and it had what appeared to be a generous warranty. Don't be fooled.

I live in the Phoenix area and this refrigerator is installed under the counter of my outdoor kitchen. It experiences direct sunlight, temperatures up to 115 degrees in the summer and slightly below freezing in the winter.I use it for beverages and it runs 24/7/365.Just after its fourth year of operation, it has died but it has lasted in very extreme conditions much longer than I expected.

Please do not buy buy. Don't waste your good earn dollars on a magic chef.you gonna regret it .you will be sad.the mcappliances customer service is horrible and annoying. They do not care about you. Life is hard enough you don't wanna pay money for extra problems in your life . Say no to magic chef.

As other reviewers have noted, this refrigerator has a very short lifespan. My particular unit stopped working about 5 years in. From what I can tell, the compressor is dead when plugged in it makes a clicking sound every couple minutes, but there is no other sound and no cooling.
