My son broke this actuator off of my buddy's refrigerator right after Christmas, so I ordered a new one through Amazon/Caribbean. The part came and the package looked the right size, so I never thought to check it. The part was on my workbench for 3 months until I finally coordinated an evening to go fix my friend's fridge this past Friday. You can imagine our surprise when we opened the package to find the wrong part inside :)No matter I contacted Amazon to let them know what happened, and the correspondence was routed to Caribbean who, even though we were slightly past the 75 day period, sent out a replacement part immediately. I have it today, even though I probably won't be going back to fix it for a week or two.

I was concerned about the installation, but found that simply pushing the water hose up a bit toward the door at the base of the refrigerator gave enough slack to easy install the actuator. If you are having a difficult time, you probably need to pull up the slack some more.

I ordered this to relace a burned out element. The replacement is a double element. Should work better and last longer than original. The price was very cheap compared to what other places were asking. Easy to install and if you are not sure how to go about it, there are how-to videos for just about anything.

Be sure to make flat and not angular cuts on your tubing if that's the installation method you choose. My cut was not exactly square on the line coming from the fridge. When the water was turned on I heard a bit of air escape from the fridge end of the filter where my uneven cut was. By the time I could reach to that area the water pressure blew the connection out and I had black carbon filter water shooting around the kitchen. You have to laugh. Especially when it's my career to maintain complex hardware on a daily basis. Once I got the water turned off and the spill cleaned up I cut the tubing squarely and reinstalled. Been without issue since. It do what it do if I do my part.

I'm sure the filter itself is decent enough, but I never even got that far.The product comes with plastic quick-disconned fittings that get fastened to the copper tubing by compression.Problem is the compression nut is brass, and the fitting is plastic.If you dont' have the threads exactly lined up, it is extremely easy to strip the threads.Which I did...Haven't looked yet how available a replacement quick-disconnect fitting is, but my guess is not readily available.Recommend to GE that they make the quick disconnects out of brass or something more robust than plastic.

I have been happily using the GXRTQ aka GXRTQR filter for years but I am told it is being discontinued by GE.So I bought a Whirlpool WHKF-IMPLUS instead and it works fine as a replacement!Just be sure to transfer the screw-in quick connect adapters from the GXRTQ filter body to the Whirlpool filter, and you're good to go. Don't forget to use a bit of teflon tape on the threads.

One of the things I love most about it is how easy it is to move. I recently remodeled my home and had to move it from the kitchen to the living room and back. The wheels on the bottom allowed me to easily drag it around by myself and didn't make a scratch on the flooring.

Refrigerator quite noisy. Took awhile to get use to the noise. Ice maker much noisier than my old Kitchen Aid refrigerator. Also, I need to call service as icemaker frosting up and and spewing ice over items in freezer. Would not purchase another LG product. Quite disappointed.We purchased this refrigerator for our rental home on the mainland.The main control panel broke 1 day before the warranty ended, so they replaced that for free.(Of course the warranty does not cover food spoilage.)Now the ice maker is broken, so I will have to engage a repair man to fix it.I'm very disappointed with my purchase, and will never buy another LG product.Our previous refrigerator lasted 12+ years.

Do not, I repeat do not buy this LG model. Actually, I'd give this 0 stars if I could.After 13 months it stopped working.The temperature controls (inside the refrigerator) stopped working. In other words, I was unable to adjust the temperature.Tried unplugging the unit and nothing worked.Had to have the control panel replaced.Only had a 1 year warranty.But I repeat, this is a dud LG model.Buy it at your own risk.
