After reading the mixed reviews I decided to roll the dice and order this item. I could not find a 16 bottle fridge anywhere close the price.

The packaging was excellent, no signs of damage to the box at all (it came from Dallas to San Antonio).

The setup takes minutes. The handle does not come pre-attached but was easy to install. You can use it without. I don't currently have a use for the keys, but once I have children I think it will come in handy.

I read other reviews about it not being able to store white wine, which is not true, wine needs to be stored around 60F to maintain its life. White wine should be "served" at a lower temp which is differant. I don't think its a big deal stick a bottle of white in the kitchen fridge 30 minutes before I start drinking it.

Only had it a week but so far so good, it is very quiet and maintains the temp it is set too.

One thing to note when placing the cooler is to make sure you have the proper clearances to maintain airflow (2" on the sides and 4" at the back). I suspect this may have been a problem people with burned out fans/motors have had. This is not a "built-in" unit.

I bought this specific wine fridge because it has a lock. In order to be a licensed foster home, all of your alcohol must be locked away. It fits 16 bottles very comfortably inside and always shows the inside temperature in a nice blue digital light. I keep mine at the lowest possible, 51 degrees and it only seems to go up if I open the door. I like that there's room on the bottom of the fridge that can fit 6 bottles of beer laying on their side. If you're buying better beer (not miller/coors/bud) this is actually the right temperature to store it. We're brainwashed into thinking beer has to be ice cold, because crap beer does need to be ice cold in order to mask the skunked flavors. Anyway, the fridge also has an inside light you can turn on to display your wines. You have to put the cheap plastic handle on yourself, but I left it off. The lock is kind of a joke. The key is just a pentagon allen wrench. I think if your kid can uncork a bottle of wine, he/she can probably pick this lock with a screwdriver. Remember to keep it a few inches away from the wall on all sides or it won't get the proper air flow and you'll burn the motor out.

We're aspiring but very budget conscious wine "appreciaters". Been slowly working our way up from 2buck chuck many years ago to Willamette Valley and even some interesting Chilean wines. Our 10 year old wine cooler finally had enough abuse and passed away peacefully a week ago and we decided to replace it with a compact countertop unit that would work with our 850 square foot apartment. We were tempted to get one of those very small "microwave looking" 12 bottle coolers but could not bring ourselves to live with something that tacky looking. Finally decided on a 16 bottle and after lots of indecisiveness went with this Whynter 16bottler.

Happy to report that my lovely wife, who is the picky one, was very pleased with the design and finish of this unit. It cools down fast to the the supposedly ideal 58F and maintains the tempreture well. It's a couple of bucks pricier than some others but I'm not complaining. This is working out great for us and would happily recomend it. BTW, Amazon prime is the best thing ever.

Bought this one to replace my old Emerson 2-Door Compact Refrigerator (dead after 4 years). The refrigerator section is much colder than the Emerson. When I set the thermostat at 5 (total is 6), the milk I put in the door storage will has some ice in it. The temp of Emerson compact refrigerator is not stable. This one is better, and also quieter. Really love this refrigerator. But the packaging box of Danby is not strong. So make sure the refrigerator is not damaged when you receive the item.

I had this fridge all through college and it was pretty good. The fridge itself looks really nice and stylish with the stainless steel. I loved having the separate real freezer, which none of the college dorm fridges had. I did run into a problem, where after about a year, the fridge portion started cooling very unevenly. My milk in the door would spoil too quick while items in the back would freeze solid. It worked out okay, but I had to learn where to place certain items in the fridge for best temperature.

I've had this refrigerator about three months and it works fine. However, when moving it, I apparently lifted it by the top and broke a plastic part that connects the top to the unit. Warranty doesn't cover plastic parts after 30 days. They gave me phone number to order replacement parts but I gave up after being on hold for one hour.

I bought this cooler to go under a walk up counter being added to our basement.Before buying I searched for reviews here as well as on the web, but didn't find anything stating bad experiences or poor quality issues with this model.The cooler arrived without issue so I thought things were good.We held off on finalizing our cabinet order until the cooler arrived to make sure everything allowed for the recommended spacing(rear, sides & top) necessary to avoid overheating/burn out issues. After a 1 day test to make sure everything worked, the unit sat in the box for nearly 60-days while the cabinets and countertop were built and placed.Once everything was complete, we set the cooler in its spot and started to enjoy our newly finished basement. It wasn't more than 30-days of use before the temp rose from 42 to 57 degrees and wouldn't cool any lower.

I called Compact Appliance to address my problem and was told that my purchase date was more than 90-days ago so only parts are covered by warranty.If I wanted to, I could pay $75.00 up front to cover their minimum labor costs, I must pay the shipping costs back to C.A for repairs andI would not be given the address for return shipping until I paid them the minimum labor fee.Given I was charged $90.00 for delivery initially, I figure we are looking at $165.00 to maybe fix a manufacturer defect with the same OEM part(s) that failed after only 30-days of operation.

If i had it to do over again, I would have avoided this product and bought a slightly higher priced Danby, Avanti, or GE Profile and probably would have come out ahead.At least these other brands have local service/repair support.

Don't make the mistake I made.... Stay away from this unit, or look on Craigslist for mine if you only need a 57 degree cooler.

It's a perfect fit for the trash compactor that we never used and looks great. This would work better for wine or anything you don't want ice cold, the lowest setting is 39 degrees which sounds quite cold but... not really. It's not as quiet as I had hoped. That said the price is great, looks great and fills the spot with a little more frig space that I can always use that.

Update, I've had the Beverage Cooler for a few years now and would definately recommend it. I was concerned it wasn't going to keep my husbands favorite beverage as cold as he likes, but he's very happy with it and as we all know a happy man makes a happy woman. It still isn't as quiet as I would like but I've gotten use to it.

I don't think you would be disappointed especially at the low price.

Overall, I am happy with this product, especially for the price.However, it was very difficult to attach the handle due to unclear directions and zero diagrams.Also, the shelves do not fit exactly as described in the manual, but are still functional.Lastly, I am not able to fit all 94 cans into the unit, but enough that I am still able to keep my bar comfortably stocked.I would buy again, but if you need exactly 94 cans, this may not hold them all.

I really like iced apple juice, but the ice was melting before I ever finished my drink. I was going through apple juice like crazy, but never really drinking much of it. I bought this personal fridge to cut down on wasting apple juice (don't like it all watered down from melted ice). It works so well, that I can fill a 12oz glass with juice, put in a few cubes of ice, and seven hours later, the ice has not melted. Think about it...seven hours! If I leave a glass of ice and juice out for 30 minutes, the ice has melted down to little bitty bits and the juice is too watery.

I used the "Mastercool MSC52224A Infrared Thermometer in Case with FREE MSC52220 Analog Thermometer" that I bought from Amazon to check the temperature performance. The manual for the mini fridge says that it is capable of cooling to 32 (deg F) below ambient. I checked it on a hot day, a warm day, a cool day, and several times between using the digital IR thermometer and it is consistently 32-45 degrees cooler inside the fridge than the outside temperature. Even on a 90 degree day the ice did not melt and I didn't have to replace my drink. The inside temperature at the warmest spot was consistently hovering around 45 to 47 degrees (F). My drink was at around 36 to 38 degrees, depending on where I measured it.

On the days that were around 70 degrees, this fridge read temperatures close to freezing. In fact, I was amazed when I pulled out a frosty glass of apple juice. It happened only once, but still...worth mentioning.

I think the trick to getting this to work optimally is to provide several inches of space for the back end where it vents out the heat. I used the thermometer there as wellthe vent on either side exhausts at about 90 degrees (F) but at a low volume so it is not very useful as a space heater.

The unit runs quietvery quiet. It comes with both an AC adapter, and a DC lighter-socket adapter for the car. The power switch has three positionsOff (middle) to the right is 110AC, and to the left is 12VDC (car). There is a single green LED to indicate ON operation, there are two warm air exhausts on each side at the rear, and two cool air intakesone at the back plate, and one on the top at the aft end. This is why ventilation and spacing is importantdue to the proximity of the hot air exhaust and cool air intakethere needs to be room for the warm air to dissipate and not be drawn in by the cool air intake. The manual says 6 inches space all around, I've found that about half that works in my situation.

I have not tried a six-pack, or tried using it in a car. What I can say is that if you like to have a cold drink handy to sip on all day while you study, this unit is worth every penny. I have not had to waste a glass of juice because it was watered down since using this unitfor that, 5 stars easily.

This little "backup" fridge keeps 6 soda cans very cold.The look is pretty neat.My main quibble is with the latch mechanism.It's a little plastic thing that I'm afraid will break because it takes a little bit of guess work to figure out wither to pull or turn to open.(It turns.)It's perfect for a small conference room, but I'm just afraid that after long usage someone will figure out how to break it.I guess time will tell.

OK, three years later my little buddy died. The handle broke and had to be glued back on a couple of times. But finally he gave up the ghost. So much for my private stash of sodas at the office. I got my money's worth.

I purchased this for my cubicle at work.I wanted to keep water or soft drinks cold enough that I didn't need to keep heading to the cafeteria for ice.It works great for that purpose.CAUTION:It will only fit 12-oz cans of soda, and 8-oz bottles of water (these can be tricky to find).A single 16.9-oz bottle of water will only fit inside sideways, and will take up all the available space.I keep it turned on 24x7.The fan noise is very low (think White Noise).I agree with other reviewers that the latch is flimsy and seems easy to break; use it with extreme care.But overall, the price, size and functionality of this mini fridge make me a happy customer.

It cools a bottled water to a fine drinking temp.It does not do a good job of keeping food cold in office temp conditions.If the ambient temp is 75 degrees, the fridge contents are just cool.I didn't trust my tuna and mayo sandwich after realizing that...but to have a cold drink handy, it's great!

PS This thing died after about 11 months.Per customer service, the part I need to make it cool again costs more than the original price.Since all it did was sit for 11 months, longevity is NOT a strong suit for this item.Would not buy again.

I bought this refrigerator last year based on all the information I found at multiple websites. I must admit that based on reviews on the Amazon website I was very leery. I have found that the reviews on Amazon are usually correct, But not this time. I was willing to take a chance and buy a GE refrigerator due to they have been in business for so long, and been making good products or would have been out of business a long time ago.

This is the first refrigerator with an ice maker, and water dispenser I have ever owned, and so far it being almost one year old has been a great machine. Even with an ice maker I have seen a reduction in my electric bill by almost 20$/month, some of which could be due to my new TV also. Nonetheless water/ice and a reduction in elctricy usage was a nice surprise. Lots of room in this fridge, could easily accommodate a very large turkey, and for a family of 5 we have plenty of room for what we need to store. The only Con, (which is not really a big deal for me) is that with the glass shelves they show all the dirt off, so if you want your fridge to look spotless you will find yourself cleaning off the shelves frequently. Spill proof is what they call the shelves, and that is kind of misleading, the ledge around the shelf will catch small amounts of liquid, and therefore makes it easier to keep clean, but you could easily spill enough to go over the edge of these shelves. Overall I am very pleased with this refrigerator, and would buy again.

12/27/11I was thinking that there was one important thing that I left out. based on some expert advice i bought and used a surge supressor with this refrigerator from day one since it is run by a computer. Other websites had recomended this to protect the circuits use to regulate the refrigerator.

6/25/12 Still extreamly pleased with this refrigerator, just put in second new water filter about 2 months ago. The vegatable drawer is nothing short of amazing it keeps the stuff fresh far longer than I would expect, more than double the time of my old fridge.

In my opinion my GE Profile side by side has been the worst refrigerator that I have ever owned.Most all of the drawers have cracked, along with the rails that hold them.The ice machine never works properly.I have had the entire water valve fail and flood my floor and ruin everything inside the refrigerator---need I go on because this isn't the end of my problems with the unit.I will definitely never purchase another GE product.I have also written to GE about this product but did not hear back from them.I feel like I got stuck with a big lemon.

I've spent about 6 months with my GE PSHS6PGZSS Profile refrigerator and I'm very happy with it. I was very dubious about purchasing a side-by-side model, but it's turned out to be very roomy and flexible. Frankly, I have no complaints about it as a fridge. It keeps things cool/frozen and makes ice very quickly. There are only a few minor flaws, and they are nearly insignificant, but I thought I'd list them:

The hoses to the drink dispenser are plastic and exposed beneath the appliance. Unfortunately, this allowed some mice to gnaw through the hoses during a minor winter invasion. After trapping the mice, I was able to inexpensively fix the hoses (with a patch, but you can also cheaply replace the entire plastic water cooler they are attached to). Some protection (or better yet, copper lines) would be a helpful deterrent.

The ice dispenser works, but not instantly, and the crushed ice is not a consistent size, sometimes containing whole cubes. It's definitely inferior to many other ice crushers.

The curved profile at the top of the doors look nice, but serve no purpose whatsoever. You need to consider this for overhead cabinet door clearance. Kind of pointless, in my opinion.

This is much quieter than my previous fridge, but it makes some bizarre noises that would be right at home in a horror movie (think "Blair Fridge Project"). I'm pretty sure it's the ice maker. There are also occasional taps and rattles, but nothing that would keep you up at night, and I have my television in the same room without any issues.

As I said, these are very minor issues. I suspect this model would have a much better rating on Amazon, but it looks like some reviews are directed more generally at GE and not this specific model. That's why I try to include the exact model number in my reviews (as did another reviewer who was unsatisfied). I am happy so far, and would buy this fridge again.

We bought all GE appliances when we remodeled a few years ago.The diswasher, stove and microwave were all fine, But I would never, ever in a million years buy a GE refrigerator again.

There are a few good reviews here, and to them I would like to say "Congratulations!Either you got one of the rarenon-lemon machines, or your refrigerator has not yet fallen apart."But the bad reviews are all the same as what I've experienced, and you will find many, many, many more of them when you visit other review sites.

From the start, there has been a leak inside the refrigerator, where it connects to the ice machine.Huge chunks of ice build up there and have to be regularly pried off with a screw driver.The extra liquid pooling where it's not supposed to be also creates a black mold buildup ijnside the fridge that has to be cleaned up every few weeks.

But that's not the worst.The worst is that this refrigerator (and especially the freezer) WILL NOT HOLD A TEMPERATURE!If you buy this fridge, you're setting yourself up for food poisoning.Our freezer defrosts completely at least once a week without warning and for no reason.All of the ice in the ice machines melts completely.(We do not store things like meat in this freezer for this reason -we use another, older freezer we're lucky to have downstairs.)Then everything will refreeze, again, but at a degraded quality.

And now the rubber gasket on the fridge has come completelly loose.

We're out of warranty (the problems for everyone always seem to start as soon as the warranty runs out), and I've read that a fix will cost at least $900 -half the price of the original unit.Unfortunately we just married off our daughter and finished a remodel in the other part of the house, so we can't afford a new fridge.When we get one, though, there is NO WAY IN HELL that it will be a GE.I will be boycotting GE on everything for the rest of my life.
