When compared to other brands, the Pentek seems nearly identical in design, filtration quality and durability; but it actually costs less than the leading brand in my area.The leading brand is rated at 6mo / 16,000 gallons .The Pentek is rated at 4mo / 16,000 gallons which seems a little odd as they both have the same amount of gal/filter rating and I've had no problems using Pentek S1-BB's past 4 months.

** The rating of 4mo / 6mois dependent on your water usage and water quality.Push the filter too much and it could clog eventually, slowing water pressure.

I was somewhat pleased with the product when I purchased it.I knew that I would be replacing it eventually, but thought it would last a while.As soon as I was clear of the 90 day mark that Amazon uses to back the products sold on their site, the bin broke.It was not over-weighted and it wasn't like it was mistreated or anything.The original one lasted 4 years.This one lasted less than 120 days.I contacted the seller to receive a replacement product and they just said too much time had past and asked for more information.I replied with more information and waited a week.I emailed them again thinking that maybe I would have a replacement in the mail or something, but no, they just sent me the "It's been too long" reply.Boo on them :(I guess I've just been spoiled by the wonderful customer service that Amazon provides me!

It's a shelf for my refrigerator...that's it. It's white and matches the fridge.

It snapped in perfectly fine and holds just fine. I will say that it seems thinner or flimsier than the originals that are in the fridge. Being it has lasted since May and is still like new, I'm not sure that it seeming thinner is actually a problem.

This actually works better than the one that came with the refrigerator when new. Maybe they've improved the part, which seems rare these days, or maybe the original was never quite right. The heater on the bottom of the new one in particular seems to loosen the ice better so it easily releases from the tray. The original unit always groaned for at least a few minutes when it was trying to flip out the finished ice. I finally had to replace the original unit because it couldn't dump the ice at all unless I reached in and manually gave the ice a push, like the gears or motor had worn out.

There is an installation guide in English. Easy enough to follow if one is handy. There are online video how-to's on replacing this style ice maker as well if you want to see it done. Reaching the screw toward the back of the freezer can be a stretch, and I used a small mirror to see what I was doing when working with that bit. One surprise is that while this part comes with several electrical harnesses, one of which is supposed to just plug into the freezer, the wiring harness on my 2002 Whirlpool is hard-wired to the freezer. That just meant I had to disconnect my existing harness from the ice maker end and re-use it. Not a big deal.

If you're wanting to replace a compatible ice-maker for yourself and save labor costs, this one seems like a good choice.

Easy to change filter and water that tastes good are my criteria. To that I would add compact size. I use this in my RV, and the RV filter pack came with the level 4 filter which is much more rotund in size. It might do a more thorough job in filtering some things, but not that I can tell. This filer is half the price & lasts a full season. We use either city water or water in our tanks that has been filtered and re-chlorinated for storage. [1 Tablespoon per 10 gallons.] Works well & makes great tasting coffee & tea.

I was very happy at first with this Culligan product until at about after 9 months, the filter bottom split open, flooding the kitchen floor and cabinet area.I thought it was a fluke thing and installed a new filter.The same thing happened at around 8 months with water everywhere.I called Culligan to report this and they said they have never heard about this problem???The filter has a engineering flaw at the base where it is seemed together.I DO NOT recommend a Culligan water filtration system.Besides the water damage I have, they weren't even willing to send a new filter or acknowledge that they have a design flaw. The Culligan representative told me to try the EZ-4 filter, but after reading reviews, I found that it's happening with the EZ-4 filter as well.I have never had this problem with the GE filters, so I'm going back to them.

These are SO easy to change I've used the EZ-3 and EZ4 I didn't really notice a difference in the taste or smell of the water between the two. What I did notice is that I'm not paying twice as much for it and it's so much easier to change than my old Aquasana that the only effort involves the fact that it's under the sink. If it were at shoulder level in the open, this would take 10 seconds to change. LOVE these filters, never stop selling them Amazon and Culligan!!

I must admit I was a little skeptical about what this might do. My Mom bought the same one from QVC about a year ago and has been trying to talk me into it for about a year now. I finally broke down and got one myself. Wow, what a difference it has made in my refrigerator. I have greens in there that last 2 weeks or more. I recently used up the last of my Spinach,it had been in my fridge for almost 3 weeks and was still good. I have absolutely no odors. Yes the ionizer powered off a couple of times but when I changed the batteries to a name brand instead of the ones that they sent with it, it powered on and stayed on, no problems since. I must admit I have had some things go bad in the fridge, but it depends on a couple of things. If they were placed in a good container and/or if they were a quality product to begin with. I am relating to the bags of salad that I get at the dollar store do not keep as long as the whole heads that I get from my local food store. The container theory is important as well, as it won't really save much from going bad if you leave it in an open container. You must put the vegetable matter in a "green" bag or some kind of lock&lock container. But if you do you will see your produce lasts a heck of a lot longer than when the ionizer wasn't in your fridge.

I have a VT-60 which I spent almost $700 for and which died within 2 years.There were no authorized repair places within 120 miles for years 3 and 4.Finally, one showed up within 70 miles.I took my wine cooler there and they didn't even know what a Vinotemp wine refrigerator was.Anyway, they told me I had to order a relay switch in order for them to determine what was wrong with the refrigerator.I have been waiting about 3 months for the relay switch and Vinotemp moved the estimated ship date of the part another 2 weeks again.The customer service representative that I spoke to about this new delay was marginally rude.I purchased a small "normal" refrigerator for my game room for less than $200 and it has run well for almost 4 years.There is something incredibly wrong with the Vinotemp business model which apparently does not include a quality system nor inventory control.

I too bought this model at Costco for 500. Not only was it really loud (I'm glad it was not located in my kitchen) but the compressor DIED after less than 3 years. The technician that came said labor by itself would be $300 and the cost of the compressor would make it more expensive than buy a new one!!!
