This is perfect for an ice maker.I installed one behind my fridge.My plumbing was CPVC, so I bought a CPVC adapter that screwed onto the threaded pipe of this box.The whole process was quite easy for me since my fridge sits directly next to a bathroom.It's really convenient to be able to shut your water off at the fridge if you need to disconnect it.

unit came just as pictured, installation was easy, secured in location and made solder connection. However, check the measurement it is larger than it appears in the picture.

Well I bought this and I live in CA.It arrived and there is a label on the valve that says it is not approved for use in CA.Nowhere in the ad description do I see that.The valve probably has lead in it or something.Even not in CA I wouldn't want m drinking water going through this valve.
