Whirlpool 4210463RW Multi-Use Cleaning Brush for Refrigerators and Dryers

Whirlpool 4210463RW Multi-Use Cleaning Brush for Refrigerators and Dryers
  • Removes lint to extend life of dryer
  • Cleans refrigerator coils as part of regular maintenance for most refrigerators
  • Dryer manufacturers recommend regular lint removal to extend dryer life
  • Helps to save energy, ensure proper performance, and extend the life
  • Also recommended for cleaning refrigerator, dehumidifier, and air conditioner coils

Though this brush worked on my seventeen year old Whirlpool refrigerator, because of a design change to the coils, it's useless on the Whirlpool I recently bought.

The coils on the new refrigerator are placed in a way that it's impossible for the brush or any brush to get past and clean the rows of coils behind the first row.

Odd that Whirlpool would market a brush that won't clean their newer refrigerators.

I found this really difficult to use; it's just too large to use and do any good. It fits in the filter area, but I can't get into the areas where the build up is, even with the smaller end brush. Just will not do what I need it to do, that is, really clean out the lint left behind.

A great way to keep the fridge working at optimum efficiency. Many people never realize that the fins of the heat exchanger can get insulated by dust and lint so they go on letting their system run 2-3x more than necessary. This cleaning wand works great on my fridge and deep freeze to keep them running as little as possible.

A little pricy for what you get (one handyman magazine quoted around $7.00), but it does the trick. Recommended.

Brush isn't flexible enough to do any good.Just a long stiff wire brush. Can't clean the dryer or the fridge.Haven't figured out what to do with it yet.

The glass was just the right size. I was afraid since when I measured the crisper cover they were slightly different. However my gut said this was the right one since the description says approximately 24 x 16. The real measurements are 23.83 x 15.5. Really satisfied with it and my crisper cover looks like new as if nothing ever happened.

Samsung RFG297HDRS 28.5 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - Energy Star

Samsung RFG297HDRS 28.5 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - Energy Star
  • 5 Tempered Glass Spill Proof Shelves
  • Twin Cooling Plus System
  • CoolSelect Pantry With 3 Level Temperature Controls
  • Dimensions: (WHD): 35 3/4" X 69 3/4" X 35 5/8"

I am very big on Samsung...We now had the RFG297HDRS for almost 3 weeks. Our previous fridg is also a Samsung side by side.

Pros:

1) love the fridg....roomy fridg section

2) LED lighting

3) look and feel

Cons:

1) Not holding temp correctly. Tech was out today and they are replacing the temp sensors. Hopefully this will help.

2) Got eggs? Normally we store our eggs on the top right shelve on our side by side. The dozen standard size egg carton does not fit on the top door shelve of our new refrig. I thought that was annoying. We actually had to put the eggs on the regular shelve.

3) buzzy sounds when power cool is on. The tech checked the compressor, fans, condenser and was unable to find the issue. I just happen to touch the back of the fridg near the freezer section and the sound stopped. I remove my hand and the buzzy sound is back. did that 5 to 8 times and it was consistent. We looked inside the freezer and the tech tighten a few screws from the inside back of the freezer and the buzzy sound is solved.

4) Ice maker: The good: Fast production and ice is great! The bad: Each time it pops an ice get ready to cover your head! You think someone threw a rock at your window. It is loud, really loud! My side by side is whisper quite when it comes to making and popping the ice out. This was just amazingly very loud and I am not over saying this. We have a large house and I can hear it all the way in bed across the entire house. At least your Samsung is making a statement that I just popped out ice ready for you...Maybe voice notification of a pop!

I am happy with the fridg. Hopefully once the sensors are replaced it fixes this temp drift I am facing. I noticed if I unplug the Refrig, wait 10 mins and turn it back on it will display the correct temp then later in a few day the temp drift. I had it set at 34F but the thermo is actually 48F inside.

Bought this during last year black Friday at $1599!! I guess I don't have the right to complain at that incredible price! I have been using this for a month. So far so good! I have read numerous compliant about this fridge on Bestbuy and other website. Yet, I still risked and bought this model (coz I like its size and look). I believe either I am lucky getting a good one. Or, others did not do what it's suppose to do. Per Lowes technician's advice, you gotta dump the 1st 2 gallon of water in order to avoid dripping. Also, after 24 hrs, you should dump the 1st bucket of ice cubes as well. I did those and I don't have any problem.

Also, if you feel the fridge is not cold enough. Press 'Power Cool' or 'Power freeze' for 3 secs...and adjust to the desire temp...something like this. Hope this will help the others! This is a nice LARGE fridge!

This is a really good refrigerator.Shop around and you can find these a thousand less than regular price...

External:

This refrigerator barely fits in my cabinet frame in my kitchen. My previous fridge (25cf side-by-side) had about an inch of space on the sides and about four inches from the top to spare.I measured the cabinet space prior to buying the Samsung but was sure surprised at the size of it when it was installed.

The back of the fridge is very flat... completely sealed off.It does not have space to tuck/hide away excess water lines.Samsung provides a flat three pronged wall plug (more on that in a bit) but the waterlines was a small issue for me.Initially, the Samsung fridge stuck out two inches more than the previous model. After coiling the excess water line and inserting the excess into a small hole in the drywall (with a nice wall plate) all is well.

I read in couple places online that the "motherboards" in these new high-tech fridges can get damaged by power spikes/surges and are extremely expensive to replace. So I ordered an inexpensive single surge protector (made by Belkin) and a flat extension cable to go with it.

[IMHO, the only real alternative (size and space) to this fridge are counter-depth refrigerators (priced a grand more).]

After two days, I noticed a lot of reddish/brown streaking on the stainless steel face.At first, I thought it was dirt from the cloth/sponge I was using to clean the surface. It looked like rust, smelled like rust (very metallic odor) and stained a white diaper cloth like rust.I quickly googled "rust streaks on my stainless steel appliance" and found a simple solution: baby oil/mineral oil. That took care of all the streaking.

The stainless steel is only on the doors, not the sides or the back. The sides are dark grey and glossy similar to most refrigerator surfaces.

Last interesting note about the exterior: The stainless steel on this fridge does not attract magnets magnets only stick to the sides. We used to have magnets from all around the world on the fridge...not any more.Funny thing is, some of my other ss appliances do allow magnets to stick...

Interior:

I think a 29c ft refrigerator says it all for space. The doors have ample storage space and are very solid.Even with four gallons on milk on the door shelves, the door still feels light and solid.

Lighting is perfect.External lighting is also nice.At night it can illuminate the entire kitchen floor.

Operation:

The "Super Freeze and super cold" options work great.Moving from the old fridge to the new one was quick and easy and nothing spoiled in the process.

(This model is a single ice maker.) No issues with ice, crushed or cubed.Makes ice from filtered water.

Fridge temp is 2 degrees colder than the door computer display reports.I guess this is better than if it reported the opposite.

About 2 1/2 yrs ago we bought all brand new home appliances, all SAMSUNG (unfortunately!) from LOWES in Hawaii. Planning to sell our house we didnot buy the extended warranty...After 2 years the refrigerator developed problems:the bottom freezer section, it became all frozen, the technician said it is a COMMON PROBLEM with SAMSUNG, the gasket needed to be replaced++. Also the light went out in the freezer as well as on top, the LED, above the water/ice spout...obviously we got a lemon! the estimate for the repairs was $ 600.00 ++, LOWES said after 7 days they do not accept any returns ( after spending 0ver $ 5,000.00++ we will NEVER shop at LOWES again!) SAMSUNG said sorry, YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY!!!...what an expensive piece of junk! besides the refrigerator the microwave also died, the technician ordered a piece that was still under warranty, but still it didnot work, the repair estimate came to over $ 350.00!!! another piece of junk! bad luck indeed, but honest-to-God truth! we paid almost $ 200.00 to technician ($ 75.00 + tax /visit) for nothing!...now we worry about the stove, the dish-washer etc...

Our fridge (RFG29-P series) is most likely all but the same as the RFG29-7 series. That said, I guess the Samsung folks need to address their ice maker design. This model has the same noise issue when cycling the ice cubes as other models. The Samsung web site itself has the comment........"some owners may feel the ice maker is a bit loud......". Yeh, like a train wreck. Even a full cube tray does little to deaden the racket. Guess this is what prompted the 'Ice OFF' selection on the door....shut the feature off during the night as to not disturb one's slumber! The ice drops seem to be spaced too far apart; almost an hour between cycles. Our old Kenmore produced ice much quicker. AND, the old side-by-side let one quietly grab a few cubes out of the basket through an access door on the ice maker. The Sammy has you slide open the basket drawer to obtain ice without activating the (noisy) dispenser. Then....good luck in reclosing that drawer. Just won't happen if it's full.

As for fridge magnet thingies not sticking to the stainless skin, that's a good thing; means the metal is of a good quality. Decent stainless does not attract magnets. Cheap stuff will.

One last beef; although the machine is quite quiet while running, when the compressor starts up, it eminates a low frequency rumble, much like hearing an old B-29 firing up its engines from way across the air field. Hope this isn't a harbinger of tough times to come with this fridge. Other than these few gripes, it's been a maintenance free four months of operation.

I've tried plastic coolers and a Peltier cooler/warmer over the years for multi-day (as opposed to multi-week) camping trips.Coolers have barely cooled things and are messy with melt. The Peltier cooler had the same minimal performance, merely slowing the rate of thawing. This year (2012) I decided to get a real baby refrigerator and the Engel seemed to have a good pedigree.I wanted something to fit in the back of my 2-door Explorer, which has a rather small "trunk" area. The standard size MT-35/MT-40 measured to fill up half the floor space but would disrupt access to the spare tire tools. The lid would likely hit the roof, and a fancy slide-out tray would probably be the to make it work. That seemed like total overkill for something I knew I would really only fill a few times a year (for camping trips). Most of the time it would just carry a few drinks and snacks for picnics and workdays at the boatyard.Stepping down the Engel range, I settled on the MT-27.It fits the Explorer with proper spacing for ventilation. The top is about level with the bottom of windows and does not block vision.I use the Engel transit base for a tidy installation and added an aft power outlet for power.I actually wired it downstream of a fancy carging relay for the pop-up trailer. This works out very elegantly since the relay lets the alternator charge the truck battery first, then supplies the trailer. This means when the trailer is attached, the trailer battery runs the refrigerator continuously so it can cool down during the drive to the campsite. For local use, the refrigerator runs when driving around but cuts out when parked, preventing battery drain.

I set the MT-27 to "3" for the initial test run, loading it with "cool" items to start. After a day of continous operation, the contents seemed a little non-quite-cold-enough, so we cranked it up to "4".The next morning, things were getting a little frozen, particularly items close to the cooling element around the top of the box.We tried nudging it back to a lower number and eventually ended up back near "3".Other items to note are that the maximum noise is a gentle hum and most of the time I need to check the lights to see if it is running. The wire basket works great to leave the main unit in the truck but access "everything" for major operations, like loading or retrieving ingredients for a meal. The weight of the empty MT-27 is pretty easy to sling around.I think this is an optimum unit for my casual operation.

Allavino MWR-1681-SSR 170 Bottle Single-Zone Wine Cellar Refrigerator - Black Cabinet with Stainless
  • Built-in wine cellar with up to 170 bottle capacity
  • All black interior emulates the traditional wine cellar
  • Hinge is on the right. Door is not field reversible.
  • Security Lock
  • Size: 72"H w/hinge x 23-3/4"W x 27"D

Quiet, nice looking.

Standard bottles only...

What does this mean? This means, no Pinot Noir bottles, no Reserve bottles from most vineyards, no... Well... No bottles of any kind that you'd need the fridge to age wine with.In other words, all the cheap wine that you aren't going to age will fit fine in an ideal environment for aging wine. That being said, you could remove every other shelf or simply buy fine wines that would fit...Like Ridge Monte Bello. But then you'd be limited & unable to age wines like Schaffer, Trefethen, etc.

All that aside, you can fit a few larger bottles in the top shelf, maybe the bottom shelf (seems slightly larger) and if you're entertaining a lot this unit should work fine for you to keep your wine ready to serve.

Getting the part number on line to order this part was very difficult. If I did not have a background in reading blueprints and schematics, I probably would not had been able to figure out which part number this was. Then I had to compare the part from the refrigerator (which meant I had to remove the broken part from the refrigerator before getting the new part, not an easy task) and compare the part on line to 'hopefully' order the correct part, which I did. Ordering and receiving the part was easy.

I would (help &) recommend this to a friend.

This garage kit did the trick. It works like a dream. It got here fast and I'll use the seller again. Wonderful!

I ordered this heater because a brand new $500.00 refrigerator I bought from Sears for my Barn out back of my property was not freezing anything.Sears was no help they wanted to sell me an $1100.00 Goliath refigerator that is supposed to work in a building with no heat.I did a search online for others having the same problem as I was.Found this Electrolux/Frigidaire Garage RefrigeratorHeater Kit.The problem is the freezer sensor is actually in the refirgerator and does not function properly if the room temperature gets below 55 degrees or so.I followed the internet instructions to install .... I found pictures ...and everything went in perfectly in about 15 mins. Low and behold my freezer fan came on right away when I finished and pluged the refrig back in.Everything is frozen solid now and we have had some 20 degree nights and 30's during the day. This thing is great. Thanks for nothing Sears you can eat your $1100.00 Goliath refrigerator!

I am a research buff and read over 300 reviews on refrigerators. I wanted one at work to keep my drinks and food cold. Many reviews stated that this unit does not get cold enough. I beg to differ. This refrigerator gets colder than I can keep it. I have to lower the temp to a lower setting so my drinks won't freeze. I really like this unit a lot. It is small enough to hide under my desk and even behind my desk in the corner. No one really knows that I have one at work. I am well pleased with this unit and the maker is a well known brand overall. Danby is the maker and I will buy another one from them soon.

Danby may make nice refrigerators, and price-wise, their strongest competition seems to be Haier and Avanti, especially for compact fridge for use in dorm/offices.

Now, my previous personal fridge was a Haier which lasted for a good 2 1/2 years, but it suddenly died one day and I needed a quick replacement. I used it primarily for storing drinks and snacks, so I didn't need one that was "freezing" cold.

I did my fair share of research, and landed on this deal directly from amazon.

The problem with getting compact fridges shipped is the packaging. Note, this unit essentially has none, aside for a half inch thin "padding" of styrofoam on each side. It is shipped directly in its retail package, and a lot of people have noted that some shipped fridges arrive DOA due to the damage during shipping, so my suggestion is to reduce time it takes to ship as much as your budget allows. Luckily, this Danby is lightweight, and though the box look a bit beat up, the unit itself is in fine working order so far.

Another problem is the temperature. I haven't measured it directly, but it is true that it may not be cold enough for medical purposes, and anything other than storing refreshments for that matter. I expect dairy (e.g. milk) would be okay, but if opened frequently the unit seems to get warm fairly easily. It does get colder after around 24 hrs after the unit has turned on.

The inside has a strong "factory" odor to it, and it takes some time to get rid of, but not a major problem. There is also a light that comes on when the door opens, which is a plus factor.

For the price range, this makes a great personal beverage cooler which was exactly what I needed, but I suspect that it may not be cold enough for some (as others have noted). If you need a fridge that needs to be colder, look for a unit that has a small freezer section up top; they tend get much colder than this Danby. Good luck!

These come in black too, wanted a black one but took the white one because I could get it from amazon and thus far I am 100% satisfied with amazon and their customer service is insanely good. Sadly the fridge was returned, it wouldn't get cold enough for our needs, 48degrees and fluxuated between 47 and 48, we needed it as a baby formula preservation system in our nursery, just isnt cold enough for that, or anything else I can think of needing a fridge for.

VinoView Silent 35 Bottle Wine Display Refrigerator

VinoView Silent 35 Bottle Wine Display Refrigerator
  • Concave Door for Upright Storage
  • Silent Cooling Technology
  • Temperature range: 54-66F
  • Digital Controls w/temperature display
  • 35 Bottle Capacity

I purchased this over two weeks ago and the set up was very easy. It doesn't make much noise at all since it is thermo electric. It also doesn't produce that much heat, although I have kept it in my living room which has a very high ceiling and it takes a lot to heat up that room.

I installed it and powered it on and immediately turned off the lights. They look like a airport runway indeed!

It took less than two hours for the temperature to reach 58 degrees after loading the bottles for the first time. The ambient temperature these days is about 72 or so.

I have to yet experiment with the temperature control etc. but it seems to keep the wines at the perfect temperature and drinking wine is fun again.

The only problem I have with this cooler is the racks and how tough it is to squeeze in bottles. Also the fan at the back makes some bottles on the top three racks to stick out a little bit so that the horizontal space for three bottles (you see in the picture here) is almost unusable. So I am not able to put 35 bottles in there, but that is okay. Also being able to keep opened bottles vertically is a big plus.

Overall I am pretty satisfied with this purchase.

I bought this wine cooler a couple of years ago, mainly because of its ability to store an opened bottle upright. This feature is about the only positive quality of this refrigerator. It's very noisy and seems to be running most of the time. Also, the temperature has never gotten below the low 60s.The display reads that the temperature is 56 degrees, but other thermometers do not agree with that.Don't waste your money. We have two wine coolers right next to this one that are quiet, maintain 55 degrees, cost less than this one, and hold more bottles.

Buy this with the understanding that it's disposable, because when it goes, which mine did after four years, Wine Enthusiast told me that the parts are no longer manufcatured. They told me to call an on-line parts "remanufacturer", dismantle my refrigerator, send them my existing parts, wait several months, pay > $80 plus shipping, and reassemble my wine refrigerator, and I'd have a one year warranty on the replacement part. Or they'd be happy to sell you a new one.

Updated review after 18 months ownership and still very satisfied upgraded to 5 stars.

It is quiet, but not completely silent as suggested by the name of the product.I have it in my living room and the slight hum is not bothersome at all and definitely much quieter than a regular refrigerator.Upon first use, it cooled very quickly, probably too quickly for the good of my wine and so I'd recommend to others to set the target temp high at first and then gradually lower it until you get to the desired temperature.

So far as storage capacity goes it is quite remarkable.Fitting 35 bottles in such a smaller cooler is amazing. However, getting all 35 in does take a bit of experimenting. While at first glance it may appear that most wine bottles are the same shape you quickly learn with this cooler that they are not.It is designed for standard Bordeaux size bottles but you may find that you have a couple that are not that standard shape. If so, it takes a bit of experimenting to get the best layout to maximize storage. The doors and the horizontal hangers are the best place for non standard. If you put the non standard bottles on the racks it is very difficult to remove them without scraping some of the label off unless remove the shelf above it first.I decided to leave the racks in to maximize storage. While I did not experience the issue of the fan getting in the way as reported by another reviewer, I can definitely see how it would happen depending upon the shape of your bottles. However, for standard Bordeaux size bottles there is no problem at all. Also, if you have wine shipped to you or subscribe to a wine club you are in luck as they have the same challenge shipping non standard size bottles so they will almost certainly only ship Bordeaux.

I have owned it for some time now and have learned how to fill it without a problem.I can noweasily get full storage and no scraped labels.

I upgraded my review to 5 stars from my prior 4 stars as I'm now used to fitting bottles in it and now never have a problem filling it.I also learned to really like the fact that you can store open bottles vertically in the door. Open bottles once vacuum pumped last well overnight or a bit longer depending upon how long you left the bottle open before pumping it.

So far as temperature goes, it keeps a steady temp.I picked up a cheap thermometer and put it in the refrigerator just to double check the temperature. It does a good job.

Overall, this is a very good wine cooler, with excellent storage for the size, it quiet, good price and would recommend to others. The one concern I had about non standard bottles goes away once you have packed it a few times and get used to how to do it and the vast majority of wine bottles are Bordeaux size anyway and so there no problem with those.

I purchased a VinoView 35* Bottle Wine Display Refrigerator from Wine Enthusiast almost 5 years ago.

The VinoView unit cannot be placed in an enclosure, because it vents in the back, so it is free standing in my family room. It is quiet, although not silent, but certainly much quieter than my conventional compressor equipped under-counter wine refrigerator of approximately the same size. It also uses less energy than the conventional wine refrigerator, although it doesn't have quite as much cooling capacity. However, it has been able to maintain an interior temperature of about 58 60°F most of the time.

The claimed capacity is 35 bottles, that is rather optimistic. The rack space is tight, and slightly oversize or heavier bottles do not fit well. Having the ability to store opened bottles upright in the door is convenient.

The interior lighting was an interesting novelty at first: it has lights around the door, and lights inside the cabinet. After a while, I turned them off.

Unfortunately, the unit died recently. I disconnected it to clean it and when I reconnected it, it didn't work. So far, I haven't been able to find anyone to repair it. So I have spent $400 on an appliance that lasted not quite 5 years.

***update***

The wine refrigerator had stopped working last month after I unplugged it and moved it around in order to clean around and behind it -clearly, it was my wife's fault for making me clean my family room the day before our SuperBowl party :-). When I plugged it back in, a fuse on the controller board blew. I tried replacing the fuse, but the replacement blew as well, so I figured that there was a short somewhere that was triggered by moving the unit around.

A few days later, I contacted Wine Enthusiast customer service. After a lengthy conversion, during which he informed me that the expected lifetime of these types of thermoelectric refrigerators is only about 3-5 years, I decided to throw good money after bad, so I elected to purchase a replacement logic board for $50 (the customer service agent comped the shipping charge). Installing the new board was fairly simple (the old board had two soldered connections and several plug in connectors; the new board replaced the soldered connection with a quick disconnect that I crimped on after desoldering the wires from the old board). Now my VinoView wine refrigerator is working again.

I knew that I was taking a gamble in sinking another $50 into this unit to try to get it working; while it seems to have paid off, at least for now, there's no telling how long it will continue to run. If it works for another year, it will have been worth the repair cost, but either way I'm not going to invest any more time or money into it.

I am rather disappointed that the customer service agent at Wine Enthusiast (who was very polite and helpful) informed me about the limited expected operational lifetime of this unit only after I had contacted them with a problem. When I originally bought it, some 5 years ago, there was no mention of this limitation, either in the catalog or on their website. I'm quite sure that if I had been told of this prior to my purchase, I would not have bought it.expect that most other people would do the same.

Scotsman : RFE33A1SC 15 3.0 Cu. Ft. Compact Refrigerator Stainless Steel

Scotsman : RFE33A1SC 15 3.0 Cu. Ft. Compact Refrigerator Stainless SteelWe have a Scotsman compact refrigerator and are surprised and very disappointed to find there is no light provided by these very expensive producers of built in bar refrigerators. There is no way to add a light and since most all are installed at floor level, it requires one to get down on the floor and look into the back using a flashlight to see what is inside when it is evening light.

Electrolux EI24BC65GS IQ-Touch 24' 6 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Beverage Center
  • Reversible side-swing door with integrated electronic controls located conveniently on the top of the door ensure this unit will fit anywhere.
  • Shelves are so smooth they extend effortlessly.
  • Luxury-Glide Glass Shelves
  • Their ramp-up designer LED lighting is as beautiful as it is functional, keeping your beverages clearly visible.
  • Tinted window helps protect wine's flavor from deterioration caused by harmful UV rays.

We have had several beverage centers at various houses but they did not keep pop and beer as cold as we prefer. We were leary to order an appliance over the Internet sight unseen, but this Electrolux unit was the exact size and appearance that we were looking for plus all the reviews indicated that it keeps drinks cold. It arrived within a week, was easy to install, looksbeautiful, and keeps pop and beer very cold...we keep it set at 35 degrees, which most units can't achieve. Also, the shelves slide out so it is easy to stock the fridge and/or grab things from the back. We are thrilled with this purchase!

Avanti : WCR683DZD2 24 Freestanding Wine Cooler with Wooden Shelves

Avanti : WCR683DZD2 24 Freestanding Wine Cooler with Wooden Shelves
  • Dual temperature zones , For freestanding use
  • Upper one capacity: 74 bottles, Lower one capacity: 75 bottles
  • Digital thermostat and display, Security lock
  • Dimensions: 71 1/8"h x 23 1/2"w x 26 7/8"d
  • Warranty: 1 year parts and labor, 5 years on compressor only

Shipped promptly and was set up inside the house. The unit has no rollers under it just leveling feet. The compressor and fan are fairly quiet when they come on.Shelves accommodate various size bottles including chardonnay, pinot noir and thick glass bottles.Did not have issues with the fit being so tight that it scraped the labels off. It is rare that I was able to get 10 bottles on a shelf, so capacity was really more like 130 bottles than 160.Overall great unit at a great price.I would recommend it.

When I first received this wine cooler it worked great. Loved the layout and the dual controls. But after a couple years in service the compressor went out. Fortunately we had an extended warranty that covered the costs. About 1/2 a year later the cooler was down again. This time the warranty was up and the parts were on backorder. The cooler was down about 45 days before we received the parts (Which were very expensive). That brings us up to now and the cooler is down again, only this time the parts will be 2-3 months. My feeling is that a company is only as good as its service and Avanti gets and F. They do not returns calls. The local repair shop--their "authorized service tech"--is at wits end trying to get the parts for us. Well, after reviewing the cost of the new parts, we finally decided that to repair it again would be too expensive...so it becomes junk!

I keep this refrigerator in my back hall. It's purpose was to hold a few bottles of water so I wouldn't have to go into the kitchen with shoes that were dirty from doing yardwork. What a waste of money! The water is barely cooler than room temperature.

I picked up one of these about 2 weeks ago. The unit was used, but it looks like it was hardly used.

First off, It is NOT A FRIDGE. It is a Cooler. The unit uses thermoelectric cooling. That means, instead of needing a lot of power to operate a conventional Cooling system with compressor, fan condensor, and evaporator, it uses a small computer sized fan, and a small chip.

The result is more interior space vs. a conventional unit, and get this... 65W power usage. Thats all.

Its not as good as a real fridge, but it will cool items inside (beer) 20-30 degrees below room temp. so if your house it 75, its going to give you a beer at 45.

The unit is very very quiet, and holds over a case of beer. I have mine right next to my couch, and I can't hear it run unless I really listin for it.

If you know what your needs are and a drink cooler is it, then I say save the watts and get this instead.

It's not cold at all. A bag of ice put in a plastic box is colder than this unit. Don't buy it!!!

Does not work well at all. Goes from being room temperture to somewhat cold sporadically.

Very poor buy

My son took it to college and didn't tell me it didn't work. Now it's too late Target wised up and stopped selling this piece of junk. I want my $100 back. Guess I'm sunk. All the other reviews got it right this thing does not get anything cold. Beverages might be safe, but food spoils. Goodbye, expensive cheese.

LG 27.6 CF FRENCH DOOR REF SS

LG 27.6 CF FRENCH DOOR REF SS

  • Slim SpacePlus Ice System
  • Enhanced 4-compartment Crisper System
  • Dimensions (WHD): 35 3/4" X 69 3/4" X 47 5/8"

I like the way this fridge looks, and like all stainless appliances it shows streaks and finger prints, but it's worth it to me.If you are troubeled by that issue, don't by anything stainless. That isn't LGs fault, it's just a fact of the finish. I like that I can easily place a half sheet pan on any shelf and the fact that there are four separate drawers. All fridges are warmest at the top, so store less perishiable things up there.

It doesn't make huge amounts of ice, and the cubes are really small, but I don't have a large family so it isn't a problem for me.What is a problem is the way the left door closes. It is easy to have the mullion not go into it's channel, leaving the door open about an inch. It's true that it will beep after a minute or so, but if you grabbed your lunch out of the fridge on your way out the door, it will just beep all day and the fridge will be about 50 degrees on your return.Because I have never owned a french door fridge, I don't know if any other manufacturers have this problem.Could be a challenge for all of them.

I wouldn't recommend this fridge if you have children getting in and out of it for the above reason. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy this same model, even with the mullion problem.I just keep my lunch behind the right hand door now.

First of all, the good part: This fridge is a gorgeous piece of kitchenware. The stainless steel looks stunning next to my oak cabinets, and I've gotten quite a few compliments.

However, it's functionality does not live up to its fabulous facade.

So, here are the bad parts:

The water dispenser is separate from and placed above the ice dispenser, so that the drip tray (even if extended) will not catch any excess water sloshed about. It also confuses anyone new to the fridge and you'll end with water all over your floor. We've started keeping water in pitchers when we host parties to prevent this.Still, we inevitably end up having to hand out towels to at least one unfortunate soul.

The ice maker is horrible. The ice cubes stick together constantly, so that you have to bang on it a bit.Plus, we've already had to call and get someone to come out and put in a new ice cube tray when ours got stuck mid-rotation and started making strange grinding noises.Keep in mind, this occurred about 4 weeks after we purchased the fridge. The repairman said it was something about the way the doors close that caused all the problems with the ice cube maker. He said we wouldn't have problems if we didn't open both the doors at once. However, to access the bottom produce drawer, you have to open both doors.

The freezer holds a lot less than our old GE fridge (which was comparably much smaller in size).I'm not quite sure why.

The fridge cools unequally (more so than any other fridge I've ever owned or heard of).I've found that the upper part of the refrigerator actually gets quite warm, and anything placed there will go bad rather quickly.I'm not talking about a bit more warm, but the sort of hot-to-warm temperature that will encourage even preserved foods to sour.If I lower the temperature of the refrigerator to the point where things will keep relatively well on those upper shelves, the vegetables and fruits in the bins at the bottom of the refrigerator freeze.

The energy saver temperatures kept my ice cream melty and made my squash go bad.

The stainless steel looks great, but you can see every fingerprint. It's also horrible to clean.Windex or water will leave streaks. You have to rub them off with a microfiber towel or get a special stainless steel cleaner.

I have owned this refrigerator for a couple of years now, and it has been wonderful. No trouble at all, keeps food very cold. I like the French Doors, very usable space. The interior is beautiful with the LED lighting. The Linear Compressor is very quiet and has a ten year warranty. Ice output is moderate, but I knew that going in. It is OK for my use. My old refer would freeze my eggs. This one has no problems like that. I can say without reservation that this is the best refrigerator that I have ever owned! I also own an LG Washer and Dryer and they have been working away trouble free for 5 years now. My LG Stove has also been great, some trouble with the capacitive touch control panel, but LG service replaced it with out a problem. For me anyway, I like all the LG appliances that I own and have no regrets about buying any of them. I think people are most likely to write a review if they have a bad experience than if they have a good experience.

If I were only grading the refrigerator and freezer, this would have five stars. We seem to have much better temperature control than we had with our 6-year old side-by-side Kenmore. Our produce and deli meats seem to stay fresh longer. Our milk stays cold but does not freeze. Guess you can tell why we ditched the Kenmore!

HOWEVER, the ice maker is slow and of low capacity. Perhaps four glasses of ice water is all you'll get at one time. If you don't use the ice maker for two or three days, the ice all sticks together and the dispenser won't dispense ice at all very annoying. Then you have to dump the ice container into the sink and start over. The water dispenser is even worse. While I appreciate the idea that this is supposed to make filling a pitcher possible, we get water on the floor all the time even family members that use it frequently. We also have a lot of guests, and when they use the water dispenser, we see a puddle on the floor 100% of the time, until they've used it three or four times.

The ice maker and water dispenser absolutely are completely annoying extremely poor design (water dispenser) and engineering (ice make and dispenser) so much so that this otherwise fine product may not last as long as the Kenmore in our home. One star for the ice maker/dispenser and water dispenser gets no stars at all.

As far as noise goes this unit is very quiet, except that it has a very low frequency, and noticable, hum. Four stars for noise.

Finally while the water filter seems to work really well, the price of the water filter is way out of line approximately $35. The manufacturing cost of this should be under $1 shame on LG for their pricing! One star for the filter price.

I purchased this fridge one month ago.I have had a service person in my home five times and it is still not working properly. My unit will not cool properly, when the tech placed a thermometer in the unit it shows a temp of 45 degrees, eventhough I have lowered the controll to 33 degrees. I spoke with the service company today and was informed that a mother board is being order for my unit.LG told me that they would call me as soon as they had spoken with the technican.I am still waiting on that call. Since having this problem I have research this unit and found alot of bad reviews for the unit and LG. My sister-in-law bought the 31 cubic ft. and had to return it because of problems. One good thing is I did buy the extended warranty from the companywhere I purchased unit. Save your money and time do not purchase this unit.

I tried buying locally and it cost 1/4th as much . . . and was the wrong part! The parts person said this part isnt even listed as compatible with my fridge. But even with shipping, this part is cheaper here than it was at the local parts shop.I cant figure out why this chunk of plastic costs so much. But it works without the cap, I couldnt get the filter in all the way and my kids and I can all taste the difference.Oh, it also shipped so quickly that it was faster to get it from Amazon than it was to order from the local parts shop which is 5 miles from my husband's work and wait for him to find time to run and get it.

I agree with Justin's review, $22.00 for a 25 cent piece of molded plastic is an outrageous price. My new Whirlpool filter cap broke the first time I tried to change the filter. ( Yes, I read and followed the instructions.) This is a prime example why corporate executives rake in their multi million dollar bonuses.
