Whirlpool 8212547RP 5-Feet Pex Ice Maker Hook-up Kit

Whirlpool 8212547RP 5-Feet Pex Ice Maker Hook-up Kit
  • Update or fix ice-dispensing appliances
  • Includes everything needed for easy installation
  • Fits most major refrigerator brands
  • Provides water to ice makers, ice and water dispensers, freestanding ice makers, humidifiers, and evaporator coolers
  • Includes one 5-foot pex tubing and fittings

This is one of those little pieces of hardware that exactly fits the job. Installation was simple, and no leaks or any problems to speak of.

Our fridge has an ice maker, but we didn't like the chlorine taste (the fridge doesn't have a built-in filter) and so we got an external inline water filter. This hose runs from the water hookup to the filter, which then connects to the water input on the fridge through the hose that came with the fridge.

Not much to say except that it does the job as described and is a good quality product. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to add a filtered water line to their sink or ice maker.

After trying two different Watts' water lines, one with stainless steel braiding and the other a reinforced polyethylene line) that both left a terrible plastic taste in my ice I installed this pex line. End of bad taste and easy to install. Probably not as durable (I think pex weakens with UV but it's behind the frig so that shouldn't be an issue). But what good is ice that ruins the flavor of your drinks!

This product works exactly as expected. Installed in less than 5 minutes. I originally bought a kit at the hardware store that was going to have to be cut to size, etc, but this was just plug and play. Would highly recommend.

I was not disappointed in this product. I have had two plumbers tell me all I had to do was to keep running water through the water line and the taste would improve. 3 months later no change. My husband installed this water line (with no problems) and I ran maybe a gallon of water through the line and hallelujah no more plastic/nasty tasting water. For the price it is without a doubt the best buy if you are looking to change your water filter line.
