Ugh, nothing worse than coming home to find water and ice all over the fridge and freezer. The original maker had been noisy, sticking since new.

Then it got stuck in the fill cycle, flooding the freezer, but fortunately the water valve coil is Designed to burn out if held on too long.

I got a universal valve, and this replacement internal assembly.

It has a bigger clock drive motor in it, and it makes lots more ice too.

It also has all the electrical test points like orig, and is easy to replace if you download the manual for your Amanna/maytag fridge.

Just remember your valve coil could be open too from self-burnout feature.

You can test the coil through the icemaker test point from front of fridge.

Front face of maker comes off, but beware power line voltages, and the freezer door switch turns off power to the unit when open.
