Speaking of the ice maker, I read a review before buying where someone commented that the ice spits out and this is true. However, if you hold the glass up towards where the ice comes out, it isn't a problem. Our last fridge caught on fire (Sears Kenmore Elite) thank goodness we were at home when it happened. Anyway, we had to replace parts in that ice maker all the time.Every week I had to take out all the ice and chisel the ice build up out of the chute so the ice could come out.Major pain. The flap holding the ice in didn't close properly and the ice would melt into a big chunk.
This fridge solves the problem the flap to let the ice out is motorized and closes after each use. The ice maker doesn't hold as much as the last one so I have a quart ziploc bag with extra ice just in case we get company and need more. You can choose ice cubes or chips. There are separate pads to push for water and ice which is easier for my mother-in-law to use.She lives with us and is blind. We put a loc-dot on the digital display on the ice maker and she has no problem using it.A great feature is that the water dispenser will discharge a pre-determined amount. We set it at one cup so she can easily get water to mix with her vitamin supplement drink.
The drawers are well built. They glide easily, even when full of heavy items like cans of pop; not like our last fridge where you had to tug and tug to get the drawers open.
So far I have no complaints about this purchase!
