- Green Filter for 46-9990Made in North America by Swift Green Filters.
I didn't think that the filters were going to fit our refrigerator at first since they were a difference size, but they did.We have been using one for a few months now and it works well.I bought my Kenmore refrigerator a couple of years ago, and replaced the water filter by visiting Sears at least twice--at around $65 a shot.
Then I got wise, began using Amazon to scout out my filter, and am much happier. The Green Filter seems to be working fine once broken in (*see below), and I haven't noticed any difference in taste from my old water.
Of course, I take both brands at their word as to filtration effectiveness -I can only tell that the taste is still delicious.I live near a little town named Mineral, and it's called that for a reason: besides gold, silver and lead, our soil is packed with a host of unpronounceable minerals.(To name a few: alamandine, bornite, chalcopyrite, copper, cuprite, gahnite, galena, hornblende, magnetite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, scheelite, sphalerite, sulphur, tremolite, and tourmaline)...all I need is salt and pepper.
malachite
Anyway, I'm pleased to say that my savings of over 60 percent is fine by me.
(*Breaking in requires running off at least two gallons of water before drinking)
The filters looked a lot like the original, but the end that inserts into the refrigerator and connects to the water supply was made just a little different. The original will "snap" into place when you turn it a little, and these won't "snap".They will connect, though, and they don't leak, so I'm Ok with them, and the price is right.
What you see is what you get.....I would give these five stars but honestly they are still really expensive for what you get.The water tastes like it did coming out of my last filter but that one slowed down and I was tired of waiting.I am glad this is a two pack because next time when the filter slows down I will just replace it (rather then dealing with it for 9 months).
