purchased this product because my refrigerator/freezer quit cooling. One night I smelled plastic burning and traced it to the back of the refrigerator.Long behold this part had burned up.I ordered this replacement, got it within 2 days, pluged it in and within 2 hours my refrigerator/freezer were back in business.Been working for about 4 weeks now.So far so good. Also it was the least expensive I could find online.Even a local repair shop wanted $65 for this part.

Seems Whirlpool/sears and other of the same type use this overload, actually it's a starting relay. Easy to install and it fixes many intermittent starting issues. I saved the $400 fees from Sears, just snaps on the side of the compressor.

My fridge went down. After a lot of searching for what I needed I then went hunting for the best price.

Found it right here.

This is the exact same relay that your local dealer will charge you twice as much for.

They seem to be all the same in function so if you need a starter relay for your compressor this is what you want even if it looks different. The other version I had was white.

I pulled the relay off of another (smaller) fridge I have and placed it on my whirlpool and it worked just fine so I bought this one knowing I had found the problem.

The only drawback is that if your fridge isn't working you really don't have even the 2 or 3 days it takes to get a new relay, unless you have an extra unused fridge in a guest house or something. That would be why I know how much a local dealer charges too.
