Oster OGG3701 .7-Cubic Foot 700-Watt Digital Microwave Oven

Before you contemplate getting this microwave based on some of the comments that consider it to be a short-lived microwave... Consider that almost every single appliance or electronic we own anymore, lasts less than five years. A hairdryer (if used daily) will die in about 2 years, a brand new washer and dryer stop working as efficiently after 1 year, and a new computer often gets a virus and crashes for the first time before you've owned it for a whole year (even with virus software).

With that being said, for 70 dollars, this is a great little microwave. You would spend about the same at a big department store or "big box store." However, most of the microwaves there either do not have a timer (which is a great feature to have on a microwave) or a door handle (which is imo nicer than a push bar). You also don't have to lift it in the car, take it out of the car, bring it in the house, etc... Which if you're a busy mom like me, is worth more than anything to not have to carry something so heavy in AND then bring my child in.

The size of the microwave is decent, overall it's about the size of a larger toaster oven (I have an Elite Toaster Oven that holds a 12 inch pizza sitting beside it). The interior is not as large, but it is perfect for heating leftovers, microwavable dinners/snacks, and reheating a cup of coffee. A 24 oz coffee cup fits inside the microwave, which is great for reheating your cup of coffee after you've added milk or creamer. It's temperature setting is spot on and the best I've seen in any microwave. When I put my child's chicken nuggets in the microwave, they take 45 seconds for 4 nuggets. Other microwaves they are usually cold at 45 seconds and when I do a minute, they're usually far too hot and I have to cool them down. I can heat a whole plate of leftovers in less than 2 minutes (even things with beans). The microwave also can boil a cup of water in 2 to 3 minutes depending on the size of your cup. It also defrosts meat excellently and doesn't leave large "cooked" areas on meat like some microwaves do. It does leave them, but it's not that bad.

Now, I will say that if you live in an apartment, your neighbors will know when you're using it. It is VERY loud when you press the buttons.

The microwave also is very easy to use. It's easy to set the clock, use the timer, and you just type in your time and press start. You don't have to press time cook or any precursor style buttons. The exterior of the microwave is also beautiful! I love the mirrored appearance the front of the door has, it's very cute.

I strongly recommend getting this microwave if you just need a small, efficient, and affordable one to add or replace in your kitchen.

This microwave is LOUD.I received it a few days ago after it had been on back order for a month. Didn't realize microwaves were so difficult to get. Well, this microwave is loud and as another reviewer posted, if you live in an apartment as I do, your neighbors will know when it's running. The interior is very small and will not accommodate a large plate. Not an issue as I was well aware when ordering and as I do not like cooking food in a microwave, this serves its purpose. I needed one to heat up my coffee on the weekend when it goes cold, to make popcorn and, to, on rare occasions, heat up a TV type dinner -so for the price and the manner in which I will use it, I'll keep it.It fits perfectly inside a small freestanding utility cart I have; I did not want a large microwave because I have limited counterspace.Goes well with my black and stainless appliances. If I get two years use, I won't complain.

Perfect for the office break area, this microwave has every setting needed for office meals. It's been consistent in its operation, with plenty of power for the frozen meals to cook perfectly. Exterior is very nice, not cheesy-looking at all.

Picked this up due mostly to it's size.We only use it heat chai in the mornings, so bells and whistles weren't really necessary.Worked really well for about 2 weeks, then stopped in the middle of a heat cycle.Dead.No sound, lights, or any evidence of life.I'm exchanging for another one, in hopes that it lasts a few years, at least.The reason for the exchange, honestly, is because I already recycled the box that it came in, so I'm stuck with this product!
