We've had it for 2 weeks.

Door is soooo hard to open that the handle is loose now. I can see that in weeks it will break apart. We called the store back and they are to come check it. I tried vaseline as recommended by a tech (not from store) on the rubber seal, and did nothing to ease the opening.

Also it is verrry noisy. I can hear it from another room.It also start on/off very often. I'd be surprised if the compressor lasts 5 years at the rate is is going on/off and it is not even set as super cold. And it meets all Frigidaire's recommendations for installation.

Would I recommend? No

Would I have bought it knowing this? No

But we're stuck with it.

Edited to update:

Finally found a way to make the door easier to open after trying multiple things. A regular straw that cut the size (height) needed and just put it inside top door (on seal), taped with a tiny piece scotchtape. The hole in the straw prevents the air to be sucked in causing the door to be almost unable to opened. The straw is squeezed when closed but the "vaccum" effect no longer exists and door opens normally.

Also called a technician who told us how to open the door knob plastic cover to tighten the screws. Now all is working perfectly.

Another thing that is annoying is the fruit/veggie basket. Only one huge compartment. No way to separate fruits and veggies. And it has large spaces between rods so everything tends to fall out the fridge. Not practical. All baskets (fruit and top ones) are all grids. So we used plastic cardboard (found in any home improvement store) cut to the size of the drawer to act as a bottom. Otherwise it was impossible to have anything stable. I think engineers must not cook/use fridge a lot to design such poor drawers!

But it still remains a noisy fridge. I would not buy it again but it does the job it is supposed to do: keep food at decent temperature.

I'm always a little afraid to order substitute brands, but the price and the picture of the Pur Filter product gave me a little more confidence to give it a try.It took a little long to get delivered than I expected, but once here it fit my Kitchenaid Side-By-Side Refrigerator perfectly and was easy to install.Would recommend this replacement product to others.

At first I was a little skeptical of the Haier brand due to issues with other units but this one isn't so bad. It gets cold and on the coldest setting I've actually managed to freeze some of the stuff I put in it without putting it in the little freezer compartment and if you want more room just remove the freezer compartment. Good deal for the price.

Update: 7/28/12

Still working like a charm. Had problems closing due to ice buildup on the freezer compartment but has been cleared up and it is working fine. It does not shake hard when running or make unbearable noises and I keep this in my bedroom. I have owned louder fish tank filters. Good deal if you want something to keep snacks and beverages cold. Couldn't fit a small pizza box in it to give you an idea of the size.

This review is actually in reference to model #HSR17, which apparently has been discontinued. It stopped working after about three months. I contacted Haier and talked to a supervisor named Larry, he said they would send me a new one. It never came, so I called them again and talked to Larry again, he said there was a screwup and he would make sure it was shipped right away. I waited another two and a half weeks, it didn't come. Talked to Larry again, same story again, he doesn't know why it wasn't shipped, he will look into it. Either they are screwing around with me or they are just incompetent. Next I asked for the phone number for their corporate office so that I could complain directly to them, but when you call the number you get redirected to customer service, so you can't talk to anybody above the supervisor level at their customer service center! Horrible experience and the frig was a piece of junk.

After extensive research to find a worthwhile & affordable wine chiller, this product hits the mark!My criteria for purchasing any chiller was that it had to:

Fit under countertop with nice appearance

Have Dual zone temperature

Have Front vent placement to prevent burnout

I simply could not find any other wine chiller that met all of these needs.Summit is a great brand (from kegerator experience), and the capacity of this fridge is PLENTY (trust me) for those who like both red & white wines.

The fit & finish is rock solid, while the inside is beautiful with red-stained wooden support beams & blue LED lighting.The white wine temp range is from 40-50F, while the red wine temp range is 50-64F.

The chiller fit perfectly--just snug enough--underneath the countertop & flush against its neighboring base cabinets.You will need to make sure you install an additional grounded outlet very low in the wall in order to plug this item in and have it pressed directly into the back wall, but it will look & function great once it has been installed.

A couple precautions for prospective buyers:1) Beware of any wine chillers that do not have a front vent placement if you plan on placing this under a countertop (your compressor life will be shortened).and 2) do not place this item directly next to a heat-producing item such as an oven or dishwasher (this will also shorten its life and reduce its effectiveness).

The Kegerator comes packaged in double "double walled" boxes with a lot of Styrofoam packaging materials and materials. All of the minor components are neatly organized in a separate box inside of the Kegerator fridge. After removing all the pieces and laying them out, I began to read the instruction manual. The manual content is very clear and concise with well illustrated pictures on the assembly of the unit and pieces.The box was undamaged in shipping .

Assembly is fairly simple, anyone with basic knowledge of hand tools should have no problem.It takes about 20-30 minutes to get it put together and running, the one thing I would advise any owner is to take your time and learn the pieces of the dispensing system while you assemble it. This is critical in understanding how everything works in order to be able to trouble shoot any issues should they arise.

The unit comes with a 2.5lb C02 tank that I was able to get filled up for less than ten bucks. I recommend a local paint ball shop since they are better equipped to fill this size of tanks up. Welding supply shops also work.

Once everything is assembled and it was plugged in it turned right on and gave a silent hum as if to let me know it was on. Even with the compressor cycling on and off it still maintains a very minimal noise level.

After allowing the refrigerator to operate with no keg in it for 24 hours I decided to give it a test drive.The first keg used was a Pony Keg of Budlight. After letting the Keg sit and cool in the Kegerator for another 24 hours it was time for the first pour which resulted in nothing but foam.After doing a bit of trouble shooting I realized I had opened the valve on the C02 tank all the way for max flow. This resulted in over pressurizing the keg. To fix this I closed the valve and adjusted the regulator to having it near closed. I then pulled the pressure release pin on the coupler releasing the built up C02 in the keg.The next glass I poured came out perfectly pure golden bliss with a decent layer of foam.

About 40 minutes layer I tried to fill up a pitcher of beer and was presented with a near perfect pour.This was more than enough of evidence that there was a consistent pressure and was at an optimal level for consistent pouring.

I purchased the black unit after a side by side comparison the stainless steel definitely would look great in someones kitchen. The reason why i did not purchase the stainless steel unit is because i preferred the black exterior.The chrome guardrail and stainless steel spout add a nice touch to the overall exterior of the unit. Cleanup is easy and was simple with just a bit of standard surface cleaner.I was also able to change out the tap handle with a standard Brewing Company handle.

I guess I should have known this unit would be made in China, thus the reason it seemed so reasonably priced. I bought this unit from another source so Amazon is not reflected in this review at all. The unit had minor damage from its long journey. The instruction booklet is a joke. You get a bag of small rubber washers and parts of various sizes with no cross reference to where they go. If they told you thickness and diameter of the washers relating to where they go it would have helped. The Co2 line is very smalldiameter and possibly inadequate. The biggest problem is unit will not get beer colder than 45 degrees at best with the thermostat maxed out. I won't go into the support or lack thereof since Amazon was not involved in this transaction. My advise, look at another unit or do your own conversion making sure to get a thermostat that will get beer cold.

For the price, this is a great buy. I've read mixed reviews, but had no trouble with mine. The beer is staying the right temperature, the Co2 is tricky to figure out, but would be on any keggerator I think. Very happy with this!

I have replaced some of the components already.The beer line setup is terrible.How am I supposed to replace?Beer lines get nasty and can only be cleaned so many times.Now that I have fiddled with it and invested some more money to upgrade a few things it is a little better.Still need to mess with it some more to make it be as convenient as I wanted it to be when I bought it.I hate feeling ripped off, but I should have known better than to order a product like this online with out checking out what was available locally.Truth be told people all you need is a small fridge and about $200 for a CO2 tank and some keg hardware.Do some research build your own and I believe you will end up with something of much better quality and save over $100, easily.

I got my stove at Howards in moreno valley and loved it at first sight. there is a frigadare model that was a bit better but i wanted to keep all my major app with GE. to be honest the center burner is the only thing that will frustrate you, the flame is to small at high volume. So when you put one of those large skillets on there it wont work well because the flame is to short and wont cook well. its good for slow cooking but i have not really used it yet. but it really works well when you use the griddle that it comes with but its cast iron and you have to take the center grill out to use it , not sure if you want to cook pancakes on it. but its beautiful and its mine and i love it!!!! ooohhhh yea its hard to keep clean with 3 teenagers. the lower oven has no convention fan only the main oven but i use it for worming or reheating something when the main is to full. and don'tpanic when you use it for the first 2-3 times you might smell smoke or something like that, its just new, they almost all do that.

its got all the gadgets you need, its not to fancy or to basic its just right and the main burner is very powerful you can burn anything if you don't watch it, even water haha, but its cool... now the price here is well in my words shop around i did and found it at howards for 1,200$ out the door. but if you are looking for a GE and dont want to spend a lot of money for extra gadgets this is nice, sure there's better but so are the prices...

Had the GE Cafe Range.Could not tolerate the noisy fan even on regular baking. When the oven was on regular bake and I would be doing something on the top of the range, the oven fans would blow over 80 degree heat into my face. GE admitted the problem and did not have a fix.The range was returned.We purchased this model and so far, we really like it --no problems. It doesn't look too bulky in our kitchen (although I did like the drop-in look of the returned range). I would recommend this range.

Purchased the WC-1682.Received the unit promptly and the unit itself was in good shape.Nice looking unit, everything fit well and plenty of space for the wine.

Pro's

-The unit is reasonably priced.

-It presents well.

-Runs quietly.

-Cooling system is efficient.

Con's

Like all of these thermoelectric systems, it runs continuously.No getting away from this particular design and my guess is all of the manufacturers use the same guts.Given that these are relatively inexpensive, they must save some money by not putting in a relay to actually shut down the unit when it reaches the proper temperature.There may be other reasons for not stopping the cooling and fan completely, but it is not obvious to this engineer why they wouldn't do so except costs for putting the fan on a separate circuit and to keep the fan running for air circulation.An extra few components would be required to separate the fan control from the thermoelectric cooler.The fan and cooling systems slow down significantly when they reach the proper temperature, but neither actually stops.Hence they are inefficient.

The unit itself is poorly calibrated.The unit I received runs 7 degrees hotter than indicated by the display.I set it initially at 65 degrees and it was actually running at 72 degrees. I didn't run a complete set of tests to see the variation.The temperature was calibrated against a Fluke 971.There is no method or adjustments on the board to adjust this calibration.You simply have to live with it.Also, this will limit the lower temperature range since it can't be set below it's rated temperature.

The unit cannot be kept in a cool room.Since the thermoelectric cooling unit runs continuously, if the room gets at or near the temperature set point, then the temperature in the unit will drift downward because the unit cannot shut off.For example, if the room temperature is 66 degrees, and the unit is set at 65 degrees, the temperature will actually drift down to around 59 degrees or so because the cooling system never shuts down.

So far, the unit has been reliable and quiet.Minimum of movable components (only two fans).I would recommend the unit, with the caveat that anyone purchasing this separately calibrate the unit.Also, if you need to run the unit at or near the lowest temperature settings, this would not be recommended due the significant difference between the settings and the actual temperature.

There are no controls for temperature calibration. Once powered, the unit only cools below ambient temperatures of the room. THe ambient temp in my house is 68F,the internal thermometer of the wine cooler registers at about 41F and does not deviate this despite re-setting to 55F. I would not recommend this to anyone

Plenty of room for Pinot and tall napa cab bottles. In the month since I own the cooler it began by cycling between the set temperature and one degree lower then after about two weeks it cycles between one and two degrees below the set temp. I suspect thermometer is not that accurate. It is all in the correct range for red wine and probably not that critical. It's quiet and unobtrusive. Overall a good value. I would buy it again given my experience so far.

We where looking forward to this wine cooler, we ordered with express shipping, 2-3 days, but the cooler never arrived. Amazon promptly refunded our money, but we never found out why we did not receive the cooler?

In the meantime I received a replacement part for our Vinotemp Cooler, their service dept. sucks, but the cooler works now, let's see for how long.

The product was a quick temp fix. We had to replace the fridge anyway. If the door is racked (or out of square) in any way it won't close Iv'e been repairing appliances for 30 years and this took way too much time to install. It is not tha fault of the replacment part it was a poor design by the manufacturer from day 1.

This product works well and is a cost savings alternative to buying a new refrigerator.Read the installation instruction, can be found by googling.Can be difficult to remove the old gasket in some places. Also make sure the door is properly aligned, you may have to adjusted the door by gently pushing it into proper allgnment.This can save one the additional time of loosening the hinges.Also recommend placing the gasket in the dryer to remove the wrinkles, this is more effective than soaking in warm water.Also once the gasket is on the door do apply the vaseline.
