This is an exact replacement for the GE ice maker. After reading a post somewhere that the GE part was made by Samsung and the Samsung part could be used in place of, as well as being cheaper (by by-passing the GE mark-up)it was a no-brainer to order this part.It was delivered on time, and well packaged. Removing and replacing the old part with the new one took less than 5 minutes. Ice cubes started flowing (or being dumped out) a few hours later.
