I have a refrigerator water filter. This one works better than that one and aides in filling all my pots, coffee machine and other fresh water needed areas in the home. The water is now drinkable.
I am basing my rating on the fact I have had experience with the filters with this unit. They are some of the best. Also, the unit itself is very well constructed.I have not yet installed it as it came with no parts sheet, no instructions, and I'm not a plumber so I have had to contact the seller direct. While cordial and responding usually about 24 hours later (send a question during the day and sometime the next day get an answer), I still am not a plumber and some of their responses and hand written out diagram won't really help me.I currently have a different unit that is an RO unit and I'm replacing it with this water filter (not an RO).The fittings I have under my sink now will have to be removed (one plugged and I hope I have the drain cap plug for it) and then replaced with new parts sent in with the unit. This weekend I will bite the bullet and remove the old and install the new.I hope I won't end up with either a leak from the removal and re-install of the new unit.I'm sure this would be a 45 minute or less job for a plumber, but for a novice I suspect it will take a few hours.
